This is not "multiple personalities," an outdated term for Dissociative Identity Disorder, which is a coping mechanism for severe childhood trauma. Orla is a drag queen, the performer character consciously created by Steve, which allows him to express his feminine side on stage. Gok is aware of this duality and is a skilled, compassionate consultant with Orla/Steve, as he is with every bride who has uncertainty or anxiety and difficulty choosing a dress that reflects who they are and whether to go with a look they're used to, something different or something completely out of the box. It seems that Steve is nervous about revealing "Orla" to his father on his wedding day, and Gok recognises the dilemma, and knows the sensitivity and encouragement needed to help Steve/Orla choose the right look.

@C R if that's what we're going to do then I'd have to say I find your reply much more scripted than anything in this video. Simply because it's clearly your nature response and not even what you like to probably believe for yourself. Life is a prettier place if you open up to the possibility that there are people who genuinely can be this understanding without anything prompting them or even a extra moment to think about it first. I have lived a very challenging life that would make it so easy to write people off. Don't do that to yourself. Life is not living without others involved. It just doesn't have anything beautiful if you don't take those trust risks. Yes you can get hurt but living a life without any hurt is the biggest kind of suffering you could do to yourself. If it helps I have degree in english, psychology and Im a fluent, ethical sign language interpreter (ASL-English). Look me up if it helps. Why I like particularly Gok is the lack of b******* and scripting. His body language and response time combined with eye movement and nonverbal communication are so honest in a way you just can't fake. Even the best Connor just have too many tells that nature gives away. He still is someone who works in media and is aware of cameras but rarely do I hear something that he has even thought through before. Only instance I can think of made sense for a comedy moment, when he asks for the biker pants to be made quickly for a bride (which is an unreasonable request in a time frame) his speed of locution and movement showed that he at least planned out how to execute the words to get the joke across. That's the only time I've ever really caught him even rehearsing. Other obvious rehearsals are people's names but he wouldn't be able to connect with anyone if he didn't at least know their name walking on to their set to interact. I really like him because he's really genuine and that's super rare in this type of video work. It's an ideal but not an executed reality in any other say Yes to the dress consultants I've seen. (Particularly that British owner with the longer silver hair is the biggest offender for a total lack of integrity that it's gross to me how manipulative he's being in comparison to even the next closest offender in the Yes to the dress selection. So Gok is coming across so genuine and a stand out but there is a real passion featured consultants consistently show for making sure the bride gets the right dress as primary, with as I said some really gnarly examples out of line in the mix. If you still think it's fake, I encourage you to realize that this combination of individuals, Gok and Orla/Steve, is likely much more normal for Gok then his average bride if you think about it. If you realize he is part of the lgbtq community and that in this community drag is part of the culture, it's very clear the perspective this individual would have coming from that world. I come from that world and it's clear as day to me more so than any of the brides because that's not my world and if you really think about it, what makes him so interesting is that he really is an exception that proves the rule when it comes to being different but living free in that reality. He has a gift. I wish more people will like him come up particularly people who work in the mental health industry, but realize that us even seeing this is a sign of how much the world has changed to accept the different. Be your different and don't discourage others who are different by suggesting I don't exist. I've seen it countless times in others and also myself that snap judgment comes from a place of self judgment. When you stop being so hard on yourself, you'll notice to start being mean less hard on others. You might totally see where I'm coming from or not get it at all and that's okay. I wrote this because someone will possibly get it and connect with it. To me, it's worth doing something if there's a chance that it could help even one person live the tiniest bit better. If you take nothing else away, try posting comments that at least contribute to the world rather than shut people down. It helps no one, particularly you.

It's called listening and not judging. By opening yourself to the situation as is and responding without presumption, you just listen to people and respond to them and not your perception of them.

A lot of Queens to dress up in drag tend to choose a bit of a darker foundation due to the limelight and beaming fluorescence washing them out, it would be a perfect match on stage. But, I do agree slightly, I hope for their wedding day they have help to match a wee better for natural lighting. Much love xo

I was thinking the same thing...the foundation shade was a bit distracting. Perhaps maybe if he got a spray tan or something it would match better. Perhaps he’ll do that for the wedding.

I think it’s because he’s got the undertone wrong. He has a pink undertone and the foundation is more yellow.

But that wouldn't be drag. Drag is supposed to have excessive make-up, otherwise it's not drag.

I just want her foundation to match on the wedding day. Drag makeup is stage makeup and the undertones on Orla are all wrong for everyday. She should still look overstated and dramatic, just also very elegant and real. She is really getting married after all.

Can I ask, if some is performing in drag, is the proper term to use she or he? Would you refer to them as she when they’re performing and he otherwise? (assuming they identify as male) Of course I’d use whatever they prefer, but I just don’t want to use the wrong pronoun.

Often it can be on purpose. Drag makeup is usually meant to be obvious :) it's like putting on a mask of your other persona. At least that's what I've been told anyway :)
