This is like something out of Calvin and Hobbes, where Calvin's Dad tells him they figure out the weight limit of trucks on bridges by driving bigger and bigger trucks over the bridge until it collapses. Then they rebuild the entire bridge, take the weight of the last truck and put it on a sign.

If you get far enough in the medieval one, you can have an objective to build a bridge that gets destroyed when anyone tries to cross. You get to succeed and kill life in your bridge building game.
