Edwina didn’t catch the looks because she believed Kate when she sad she hated him. Go back and watch from the beginning though… pretty sure Benedict caught on to something early. Colin wasn’t far behind (fencing and pall mall scenes). And of course Daphne was the smartest of them all. (I always wonder why how Lady Mary missed it entirely).

Edwina was also quite accustomed to be pampered by Kate and be the focus of attention. Anthony told her he couldn't give her passion. I actually found her treatment of Kate quite harsh and that speech to Anthony in the chapel quite hypocritical, but they redeemed her with her lines in the last episode.

Lady Mary have said that she has been absent all the time. Kate was the only one dealing with Edwina after their father died. She does not even know her own daughters 😑 …

Kate never told Edwina she hated him. Remember when Edwina told Kate “you hate one another” and Kate replied “hate’s a strong word” I understand Edwina trusted her sister blindly but she should’ve paid more attention to her fiancé. When three of them were together Anthony was looking at kate most of the time. It looked like she didn’t even pay attention to where he was looking. It was very obvious he was jealous when Kate was with Mr.Dorset. How did Edwina not see it?

He doesn't just marry Kate because Kate isn't "marriageable". Lady Mary isn't her birth mother so she is a commoner. The show did such a crap job of making this clear. Anthony at no point up until *spoiler alert* episode 8 offers Kate marriage. He just expresses attraction and desire, hence Kate's "mere passion" comment in episode 5. And her first proposal refusal. That's why it makes sense that she wouldn't tell Edwina while Edwina was still interested in him because what will that do? Anthony is the one with all of the power and he just messes everything up.

Eloise will end up with Sir Philip or Mr. Crane. That’s her love interest in the books. I was trying to figure out why they added this crush but I’m sure they intend for it to lead somewhere.
