Hi from a fellow ace person! Watching intimate scenes usually are okay for me (as long as I’m not watching with anyone else, not sure how I would feel filming my reaction 😂). This was one of the best intimate scenes I’ve watched. You really do see their friendship and respect for one another shine through. And I agree that Luke Newton can portray a million words in just his eyes. Loved your reaction!

You see, despite all his fears and pretending and trying to be someone he's not, Colin has always longed for connection. Yeah he wanted to enjoy himself, but even when he was having a threesome (before the kiss) he hurried off to be with Pen. He had a blind spot, even has he was writing in his diary about longing for intimacy beyond the physical. He could not quite *see* Penelope that way. But all season that has been eroding away. Once he gathered the courage to speak, and learned she felt the same, his decision came almost immediately. He knew he wanted, needed to marry his best friend and spend the rest of his life with her. All he has ever dreamed of just came true, and he refused to let it go.
Wholly agree with your assessment of the Polin relationship vis-à-vis those of the Duke/Daphne and Anthony/Kate. Season 4 will only be as good as the amount of Penelope and Colin we are offered.
