Here comes the bride … and an array of dazzling costumes fit for a dramatic “Bridgerton” wedding.
What’s a spectacular Bridgerton wedding without a wedding dress to match? Unthinkable! In this video, Sophie Canale, the costume designer behind this season of Shondaland’s hit Netflix series, takes us through the process of designing Edwina’s wedding dress for her almost-nuptials to Anthony. In designing the dress, Canale says she “wanted as much drama as possible,” and she and her team certainly delivered, designing costumes for the 25 principal actors as well as an additional 130 supporting artists in the scene. Bridgerton cast members Jonathan Bailey, Charithra Chandran, Claudia Jessie, Adjoa Andoh, and Luke Newton share their deep admiration for the costume department, the emotional experience of wearing the exquisite designs, and how Canale’s work helped them find their characters.
