Talking to people that you disagree with is called being open minded. Plain and simple
@HamRadioLiveShow

America is far too divided today. Wouldn’t our country be such a special place again if more people who disagreed with each other could sit down and talk? As a Conservative, I applaud you for what you did with Tucker. I think it’s a great lesson for all of us. We can always agree to disagree. But we can all agree, and find common ground on SO much more than we disagree about. Well done, Chris! Subscribed! Larry in Oregon

Chris, Your sit down with Tucker is one of my favorite interviews you've done this still young year. Need more of those types of interactions online. Our country is so fractured right now, anything that can be a step in the direction of healing that great divide we have is positive. Keep up the excellent work!!

It takes a great level of emotional maturity to have a conversation in which both parties agree to disagree. I saw the interview with Carlson. I thought “wow he is actually a thinking person, I still don’t agree with the messages he spread on tv, but this interview helped with letting him explain his thoughts” I appreciate your tough interviews. I appreciate your professionalism, thank you.

Morning Chris. No fears of watching and listening to the opposition. I mean...really...it's silly to stick your head in the sand. You'll get your ass kicked with it sticking up there, eh? Michael Coreleone said...“My father taught me many things here - he taught me in this room. He taught me: keep your friends close but your enemies closer.” And while "enemies" is almost a little harsh for the Repubs...the point is the same. And in a lighter reference and in that vein...I heard someone refer to 45 as "Poorleone". Smiles.

You're such a good example Chris. I'm glad you interviewed Tucker Carlson. You're really so awesome because you wanted to rearrange his physicality. That's really funny because really, isn't that what people feel but are too afraid to look aggressive. I really like it that you look at things through a philosophical lense. You really dumb it down so I can understand it, the logic, the step by step of how you got from one place to the other. It makes sense and I'm really glad that at least one person in America has got perspective and keeps repeating the message. Thank you Chris. We appreciate you. Betty

The issue is, you gave Tucker Carlson a voice. You gave him an outlet. You gave him an opportunity to continue to spread his vitriol and lies and hate. You’re not going to cure anything here. All you’re doing is giving further attention to someone who should never be allowed a moment more air time than they already have. That’s not close-minded. He is BAD.

Chris, these people have done extreme harm to America. You are a stand-up guy, there is no need to associate yourself with these kind of people. These people have chosen their path, knowing what they were selling wasn’t true… You are a smart guy and know the harm they caused. . I heard once how fragile America and our way of life maybe…. And I can only think of the brave young Sailors out at sea, the young Airman and Marines. Thank God for these brave souls…. Interviewing Tucker is like interviewing tyrants … North Korea , Putin , Trump and others. Don’t lower yourself to their level.

You need to go do more research for sure. Do you seriously think they just would attack a president? Trump? No. He ran on getting rid of corruption then the amount of election interference we have seen to get rid of him is just proof Trump was serious. When you try to take a toy (corruption) away from a small child /politician. They will kick and scream bloody murder and call you the bad guy! Also the very powerful jewish lobby bent him over a barrel. That’s why he did that Bs Middle East one sided peace deal. --- I can find good and bad things every president and every party has done. Every news host period. -- the #1 way to know who’s telling the truth is listen to who cuts off guest and screams and yells. This is a hallmark. -- I’m seriously disappointed with democrats and republicans supporting the overthrows of Ukraine, gaza, Syria, Libya, etc overthrows or attempted. After 2003 iraq lesson was discarded. Just know the enemy gets a vote also and they will not forget what we’ve did to them. You have no idea how angry they are. 9/11 was a result of our bullying and overthrows. So that’s the price we paid for dabbling last time. Just imagine what our future looks like. We’ve overthrown 10-15 gov since 9/11.

I've worked in journalism, and it pains me that so many people have forgotten the very point of it is to ELUCIDATE and REVEAL. People, places, events, etc. As a journalist, that is your main goal. Not to debate or effect change. Not to necessarily agree. Just to ask/answer clarifying questions so we can make up our own minds better. If people hate Tucker - or Chris - so badly, isn't it instructive to know what these men think, so they can articulate WHY?
@notinamerica_911

Sometimes speaking to people you don't agree with come at you with delusional conspiracies and not facts so there is nowhere to go with that. I have many experiences with people who I know are in the conversation to persuade without any intention of having an open mind or even look up what I say just push it away. I agree there is a magnification of the fringe and it gets magnified more every day probably like this interview will go with Carlson. I have not seen the interview yet.

Idk how this isn't a more concerning topic. I know that selecting judges in favor of the incumbent party has always been a thing, but it seems like in later years, the weaponization of the courts has reached new extremes. What are your thoughts? And do you think the process needs to changed?

Again we need Pro & Con to negotiate. We learn from one another to find a balance. No one is better than another. Do believe now a days it's those with more $ pays off the media to cover to manipulate the people. Enough is enough. Thank you for trying to bring balance &/or food for thought. I do not care for some of your guest but...I see the good & sadly not the best ideas, which unfortunately those who are ignorant or do not search for truth & balance follow. It helps me see what makes them click; it's usually where they got hurt in life an never let it go to grow to understand the pain in a positive manner. Blessings

I have to say Chris has absolutely won me over. I have admittedly been drawn to the right for all of my adult life. At 44 years old, married, father, Electrician who’s considered “ middle class “ but more like “ working poor”. I was drawn to Trump’s Republican party. I was an ardent Fox News watcher and thought CNN was not tolerable. Over the last few years I’ve really paid close attention to media, issues, and agendas. I have learned to look at the individual for what they believe and their actions, not what platform they’re employed by. I saw Chris on PBD and Tucker. I really listened and felt he was his authentic self. I found him smart, entertaining, and engaging. He is no different than my blue collar upbringing and life. I think he’s done himself a great service by going out and having these conversations with opposing opinions. All that to say he’s won me and many others over. I appreciate his vision and his work.

Diversity of thoughts and ideas is important. Racial, sexual, identity diversity (which is what the D in DEI refers to) doesn't matter. Equity is a euphemism for equality of outcome. DEI is undermining massive strides toward equality by bringing race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. to the forefront of the discussion.

I watched the entire interview, and I thought it was a much needed conversation. You both looked like you were having fun, the discussion was interesting, and you probably agreee on a lot more than you thought. 11:14 that’s not necessarily the whole truth though. I have been scared over the border issue to the point where I obsessively watch everything I can about it. Yes, republicans took responsibility for that bill the bill where $118B total in the bill; where $90B went to “foreign aid and wars; $2.8B for refugees in the US and $20B for border security and no change in the amount of people coming in… so they can blame it on Trump or republicans or democrats, but the truth is, none of them care to fix it and it’s because it benefits them both, so I totally agree there. But cmon, that was never going to resolve anything to begin with, and by not passing it was just ammunition for Biden and the democrats lol while republicans say they didn’t vote for it with pride. 😂“elected for doing nothing…” wow, that’s so true.

Choosing to talk with Carlson, Trumper's, etc. is about like banging your head on a concrete wall, or inserting stick pans into your forehead because you have a thing for pain. Having a conversation or debate with someone whose opinion can be changed by exposure to provable relevant facts can be useful. Having a conversation or with debate with someone incapable of that is a waste of your time.

Tucker actually has changed his views over the years. He's adopted a few ideas from the populist left (think Jimmy Dore), whereas he was previously more Neocon.

Chris....i have no problem at all with you reaching out to people who have different views than you do. It's what I liked about your show on MSNBC. But you have to ensure you push back on Tucker's nonsense and others like him from the right. You did a little but not very much. Your goal was clear...to attempt to establish common ground and not to ruffle feathers that might interfere with that goal. But that's not Tucker's goal whatsoever. People like Tucker made millions in profit in exchange for telling lies...lies and bs that Tucker himself knew were false. Make no mistake, he uses this same method today...because it works...it makes him money. Have you, Chris, done this? Is this your motive? Is this your approach to public discourse? I don't believe so. And there in lies the problem. If you engage with people like Tucker who have demonstrated nothing but the profit motive and exchanging lies, conspiracies, propaganda for clicks, etc... what do you believe you're accomplishing? Did Tucker 'try' to accommodate your interview model to find middle ground? Maybe...a little. But so what. Tomorrow he'll be spouting nonsense, lies, pro-dictator equivocation, bs...so he'll get eyes and clicks. People like Tucker aren't driven by the truth. They are driven by grievance and hate. Will an interview like yours help Americans understand the 'why' behind Tucker's hate and grievance a little better? Perhaps. But how does that move the needle? How does that make American's more informed? It just makes Americans more informed about one man's path to grievance and hate. In what why did Tucker demonstrate any concessions with you and your values/views...or the views of progressives in any meaningful way? Put more simply, Tucker ALWAYS operates from a place of disingenuousness...just as much of the MAGA crowd have demonstrated. Quite literally, they could not care less about your views Chris or mine or anyone else. I don't see empathy with Trump's MAGA. Not an ounce of it. And if you don't care about your neighbor, it's a nonstarter. Democrats have always been in pursuit of equal rights for ALL Americans. It's the same reason Republicans and Democrats fail to essentially agree on anything. The two parties are speaking completely different languages. The GOP, Trump....they desire and seek out ways to separate themselves from non-Trump supporters. They literally have the opposite motivation and objective than the Democrats. So if you're trying to find commonality with Tucker and his ilk.... you pushing a boulder up a hill. Tucker wants, needs to define their tribe with clarity and distinction, how they're different, better. They constantly work to highlight how Americans differ, to define and clarify our disagreements and discord, our weaknesses, our failures, our fears. Engaging someone like Tucker from an honest, open place is an exercise in futility at best. Unless, you push back hard on the lies, the conspiracy theories, the intentions, the disingenuousness...the 'alternative' facts, etc. You didn't do that Chris... because you didn't want to alienate him...or stifle dialog. But I can assure you, he will NEVER give you anywhere close to the accommodations that you give him. And therefore, Tucker and others like him will always have the advantage in these contexts...and he will always take more than he gives...way more.

I left Fox as my regular news source in 2008, but attempted to watch once per week in order to understand what my MAGA friends were talking about. I was a fan of yours, Chris on CNN and was sad to see you go. I am seeing many posts from those who saw the Tucker interview and found him more appealing. I had the opposite reaction. I was convinced that Tucker is as dangerous, vapid, and childlike as I thought. I appreciate the interview for showing his true colors in a civil way. Thank you.

I wonder if people who believe in no censorship and absolute freedom of speech without consequences don’t support Rumble more?? I don’t see any people flocking to rumble. In fact, I don’t see anyone uniquely caring about that platform. Yet…. Isn’t that where you’d be able to say what you want????
