GLOSSARY:
Competitive Win:
A win achieved in the Competitive Play mode by being the first to obtain all four wealth tiles and make it around the board. Only one player can win in this mode.
Cooperative Win:
A win achieved in the Cooperative Play mode by all players making it to at least Tier 3 and obtaining a Home wealth tile before any individual player can achieve a win in Competitive Play. In this mode, all players win.
Degree tile:
In-game tile that represents a higher education degree and can be traded or used to earn Prosperity points.
Event cards:
In-game cards that represent unexpected events or circumstances that can impact your progress in the game.
Help or Hinder:
Mechanic that allows players to either help or hinder themselves, or other players, in order to win the game.
Influence card:
In-game card that allows players to either add or subtract from dice rolls on Opportunity, Event, or Justice cards.
Justice card:
A space on the board that in the basic rules is a referred to as a REGULAR space.
Opportunity cards:
In-game cards that give players the chance to take certain actions or earn certain tiles and tokens.
Position card:
In-game card that assigns each player a position of either systemically dominant or systemically non-dominant.
Preparation tiles:
In-game tiles that represent either a Skill, a Degree or a Startup, all of which can be traded (see TRADES in Rulebook).
Privilege tokens:
In-game currency used to represent privileges that can be given, received, inherited, earned, ignored, or compounded.
Skill tile:
In-game tile that represents an earned Skill, and can be traded or used to earn Privilege tokens.
Systemically dominant (SD):
Position card with the white arrows no a black background. Term used to refer to individuals who are afforded privileges due to their social and economic position.
Systemically non-dominant (SND):
Position card with the solid black background. Term used to refer to individuals who are not afforded the same privileges as those in a systemically dominant position.
Tax space:
A space on the board that in the basic where players either receive Privilege tokens or pay Privilege tokens.
Trades:
Mechanic that allows players to trade Preparation tiles for other tiles or tokens.
Wealth tiles:
In-game tiles that represent different levels of wealth and must be obtained in order to advance through the tiers.
