I still currently serve in the surviving regiment of The Duke of wellington regiment (33rd of foot) now the Royal Yorkshire Regiment and we still carry on many traditions from Waterloo. One being the Regiment always toasts with Wares warrior port, this was the port toasted before and after the battle of Waterloo. And still use the French Revolution song of Ça lar as our Regimental quick march. Great video as always 🇬🇧⚔️

@@RedcoatsReturn Do you ever watch cookery shows? They always have ‘deconstructed’ dishes. Well, I’m a deconstructed pipe smoker! The pipe is unlit and the tobacco stays in the jar. It’s a very economical way to smoke 😂. when I’m writing, or editing, I’m always accompanied by a pipe. Not only do they help me live the characters, they stop my constant consumption of biscuits! Yesterday, I chewed on a Mr Brog Churchwarden and sniffed that tobacco you sent me. Have a lovely week 💕

my best friend from Belgium, got me into Waterloo as he was a tour guide for the site when he was younger. He and I were thinking of making a board game about waterloo with dice, card and miniatures about 3 years ago and it never took hold to move forward, i was playing with my cameras and thinking of documenting our creation. i will be attempting to try this tobacco. i do not think making the game now would do well for 20 years, we missed our opportunity to possibly having a great success maybe. thanks for the review sir!

My mother always told me I had hazel eyes. When I joined the Royal Marines I put my colour of eyes down as hazel. ( Fool ) I was then plagued forever by the drill instructor. Later in life I saw the discharge papers of the real Tommy Aiken , who served at Waterloo , and he was marked down as hazel eyes !

another great vid my ole mate. been very tempted to pull the trigger on some of these brigadier blends. just saw Napoleon and thought Rupert Everrett played a better Duke of Wellington than Juaquin Phoenix did playing Napoleon. Of course Ridley Scott masterfully framed him in the battle scenes.

However…I agree its impossible in a 2h film to cover all Napoleon did in his life. I agree the highlights were the battle scenes in this movie 😊😉💨💨💨

I had been waiting on this one eagerly and it was like you said overly focussed on the relationship with Josephine so we never really got the feeling of how eternal a commander he was.
