Brigador Devs on Going Viral + Tips for New Game Developers [2020]

If you saw our video on how much video games cost to make, you might remember the segment we did on Brigador. If you haven’t seen it, basically it references Brigador’s lead developer, Hugh Monahan’s Steam post where he breaks down why they’re charging what they are for Brigador.
Well we were lucky enough to chat with Hugh himself at PAX West! In this video Hugh sheds more light into that now-famous post, and also shares tips for new indie game developers wanting to start their own studio.

Posting here so on the off chance y'all see this. Really glad to see you guys are still around. Honestly, I learned about this game from tvtropes *last week*. Star Sector's tropes page said that game had several shout-outs to Brigador in it. I figured if its dev thought Brigador was worth a few easter eggs it must be good, and he was right! Really looking forward to the sequel and I'm just glad y'all're still around and kicking!

I love Brigador! few games allow blowing up entire city blocks while cackling like a madman. The devs have been really awesome about being in contact with the community on forums and such as well, so I am looking forward to the sequel.

i have a question. If you want to make games under a studio name, can you just say "we are studio x now" and make games under the name? or do you have to register your name and found a company or something?
