During February half-term, Bright Lights: Youth Arts Festival 2023 took place at Arts Centre Washington. The festival celebrated the talent and creativity of young people with a week of free workshops, performances, screenings, and exhibitions. The festival also showcased work produced during Creative You, a project to engage young people from Washington in weekly creative activities.
This film was created by Alastair Cummings and members of Washington Young Film Makers Collective to document the week.
Creative You is supported by Sunderland City Council’s Washington Area Committee.
The project is based from Arts Centre Washington and led by Sunderland Culture in partnership with Washington Mind.
