Barnsley fan here. In 97/98 when we went up for the first time we started like this. About half way through the season we started winning games but it was too little too late. Hopefully you guys will grasp it quicker than we did. I have faith! Especially as it's a team full of the best Barnsley players 😀

I didn't watch the match, but I see a lot of very negative comments. It's Brighton, what did anyone expect? Brighton can win against Man City, they aren't going to win at home against Luton? Luton even scored a goal. I don't like seeing negativity from day one against newly promoted clubs (specially ones that haven't been in the Prem for a long time). It's like, not only do they have to compete with lower finances, even after they managed to go up, they already have to deal with people wanting them to fail from day one. Come on.

Didn’t think they did bad in the 1 half just a lack of premier league experience that cost us in the second half if you seen we were knackerd by then, counter pressing in premier league is gonna be hard to pull off

This season you guys can enjoy the process. The most important thing is to invest in infrastructure, get more income. Don’t invest too much in players. Build from the bottom. U guys might get relegated, but the money u spend in these fundamentals is material to future success.

Kabore is a very good player and made a good impression. The midfield needa to have more fitness because it will be though in thia league. The DM and CM were completely knackes aftwr halftime

All went downhill after Kabore yellow. Subout. Pedro & Mitoma grew into the game at that side. Got the pen. Estu fly forward. Got an assist but neglect the defence for Luton sole goal.

You cant explain the errors of the defense but it is Brighton and they are really good team. It was also your first game in the prem so they were nervous

Decent attempt by the lads. First game of the season in the Prem so we'll hopefully settle in a bit better soon. Loved Kaboré along that wing really gave us a lot of opportunities, we were unfortunate not to capitalise. Especially with Morris' head on some of those crosses. Kaminski could've rolled more out it felt we kept losing the ball to long shots, and he seemed like he was struggling to find his pace in the team, something that'll come with time. Morris' pen was class misdirection, really well taken. Morris was really good up front as per usual. Mpanzu wasn't on form today he can play better, just didn't seem like he was in the game today which is a bit unfortunate. Given a match or two to settle his nerves and hopefully he'll be on top form again. 😁 Overall an unfortunate game and a fair few decisions that didn't go our way. Two to three contentious hand balls by Brighton one of which we got, but really shoulda had two. Some free kicks were seemingly given to Brighton for free and a couple instances where we really shoulda been given something but ref didn't swing our way today. Unlucky lads look forward to seeing you do your best against Chelsea!!

But when playing d small teams,if we can follow all what I've highlighted in my previous comments, we are winning them,and d win starts from burnley next match week,but if burnley are applying d pressure and looks like scoring any time,we make sure we are defensively tight and and when we get d ball we attack with real intense and quality,if it doesn't work out we punish them on d counter,overall we play like as if we are almost on d brink of relegation all through dis season trying to escape it,if we can follow all dis,luton town is finishing top half and causing problem in d premier league,we are no longer in d championship, let's play matured football,as we have see from Brighton and wat they did to us even though we competed 4 large parts of d game,but improvement is needed and we are winning Burnley next week,d error which lead to brighton's third goal should not happen bext week and all through dis season,the players should train very hard on d training ground,d coach should look at dis and then come and cause havoc on d pitch,we must win burnley next week

Clearly a lot of first day nerves took hold and probably showing too much respect. Once the school boy errors are removed and we kept things a lot tighter away from home, picking up the odd point could be the difference in staying up or going down. But hey, almost 8 years ago we were being beaten 3-0 by Braintree.

Luton town can shock d premier league dis season,most pple are saying we will relegate dis season but i believe we are staying up and possibly top half,we need to play an aggressive football and also dominate games alongside tactical,technical,defensive, physical and attacking minded if things dont want to work out as originally planned especially if d opposing team are stubborn, pressing and dominating us,that is how to win matches and along side with our normal system also we can win anybody or cause problem 4 any team dis season in d premier league be it mancity,arsenal, Newcastle or whoever,we need to gear up our game next week against burnley at home and we should be able to win burnley,we should dominate and be aggressive with a tactical, technical and physical football and also attacking and defensive minded,we are winning burnley next week, we know burnley quite well from d championship,we know how good they are,so we are not going there to joke but to play all round football,if burnley become stubborn,the Luton fans should gear the luton players up with their chants and this will boost the players to play with more confidence and push harder to score and also for the win given d fact we are at home,it is a must win match,we need more from adebayo against burnley next week,he should cause problem for their defence and this will help us to get d needed goal and win against burnley next week, and I'm sure he can cause problem for any premier league defence dis season and i know they are getting d 3 points next week against burnley,we can do this, let's get d 3 points next week,more signings should be made b4 d window shuts down, i think at least a cb and we are going 4 d 3 points next week. Good signing Kaminsky brilliant 3 saves needs more protection fron back 3 defend dont try to attack all the time Sonny Bradley will be sorely missed dont have a go at Pele he shouldnt have to defend that deep .Put 4 across the back three playmakers in the midfield and one defensive midfielder like Bemner used to play and two up front .Are we still trying to sign Dewsbury Hall from Leicester hes a brilliant player and surely a future Captain 👏 👍
