Very impressed it survived this week's storm. This pier was built to last.

Looked amazing in the 1920s, it's a shame it's been left to fall into disrepair over the years. I'm aware than piers are particularly vulnerable structures due to their location.

I'm staying in Brighton right now! After many visits going on the Palace Pier I went along to the West pier and took a range of photos. Thank you for your video giving a visual and factual history of the timeline and how the pier looked over the years, I have always been curious x

I did hear some time ago the brothers that own the other pier set that fire in 2002, as the west pier was going to get funding to restore it

Really great video, as a Brightoner myself, I really wish I could have seen the pier in its heyday.

This made me feel quite emotional. I remember when we went to Brighton for a day trip, we lived in London, we had to choose which pier we wanted to go on. I haven’t been back since the 90’s and it’s sad to see the relic it has become.
