First time viewer! Really great documentary. Brigit was also followed by the "Brigantines" in Northern England. Some surmise that the Goddess came from Scandinavia, and that "Brigit" is directly associated with the mother Goddess Isis and the first devine Goddess Inanna of the people of Sumer. The "triple" aspect of Brigit is to encompass the three phases of womanhood; which was quashed by the "holy trinity." The Culdees of Scotland were worshippers of St. Brigid. St. Brigid has several issues with the patriarchal Church, that she is a feminist power, a "divine light" (when it's supposed to be Jesus) especially the fact that she has her own cross.

@@mythosandlogos Really thanks. I will see other videos of you. I’ve just met your channel. But do you have a video about Mary of Magdalene’s tradition in England? I mean, we have her in the Evangile and then in the French tradition that tells she has lived (and died) in France but I’ve heard there is another one, in Great Britain. Do you know something about it? Thanks four your attention.

Hello and thank you for joining in this study of the figure of Brigid, so important to both Ireland's Pagan and Christian traditions! If you're watching this on the day of release, I would like to wish you all the best for Imbolc, Saint Brigid's Day, or just Saturday :) Coming up: A conversation-style podcast with the wonderfully talented, charismatic, and educated expert on Irish Pagan spirituality Laura Daligan, in which we will further discuss the symbolism of Brigid and what makes her so appealing to two very different traditions. Next essay: Gilgamesh, Noah, and the Great Flood!

This was so awful nice and appropiate mainly at this time we ate living where hypocritical blasphemy is being brandished as a tool for genocide, before which many Irish, many Irish women, are showing face for the honor of many of us who cannot make ourselves heard in the way we would like to. This was very delicate.

Forgive me, but a few questions arise from listening to this interesting account:- - there was writing in pre christian Ireland in the form of Ogham, although few could read. - It sounds as though Bridget might have been a member of the Nephalim or Elohim who was perhaps responsible for Ireland and that her story was carried down through the ages until the invading Christian Church sought to convert the locals to the Roman interpretation & doctrine of what they wanted the masses to believe, and so sought in incorporate the 'myths' that persisted in the region, a practice that persists to this day. - Fir an authority on pre & early Christian Ireland see works by Peter Berresfird Ellis.
@mythosandlogos
@mythosandlogos 6 месяцев назад
Excellent point on the Ogham! Though society wasn’t broadly literate, and those inscriptions weren’t “book-like” by any means, there absolutely was a form of writing.

There is no fear here I just see a lack of biblical knowledge we are to bow our knee to worship and reverend to no one other than the father, the son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. this puts me in mind of Paul on Mars Hill And numerous other times throughout his epistles and others, where they say, do not be deceived and be not ignorant concerning Satan‘s ways of using Vain, philosophies and fables, the mere fact that supposed Christian knowledge of this pagan Goddess has further the worship of her shows it’s wrong and evil practice respect for someone who is a godly person, is one thing making pilgrimage, and all these other rituals and worship Ceremonies have and are deceiving and robbing the kingdom of God of His true worship and honor and giving it to another deity as she has been made out to be this is terribly ungodly and unscriptural. Read God‘s word do not be deceived. God says he won’t be mocked, truly this is said with respect and reverence to my Lord Jesus Christ, He gives us all we need, thank you for your time
