Referring to 9:30 - Lucky Luciano Quote I remember seeing a movie years ago, I'm not sure which one, but there was a memorable interaction between two of the characters: Character 1 hands a bundle of money to character 2, as a bribe for access to search an area for someone he was trying to find. The money was taken off a man killed in a previous scene and was bloody because of that. Character 2: "This money has blood on it." Character 1: "You ever see any that didn't?"
One of my favorite "mafia" quotes..(from Godfather II) has to be from Hyman Roth's "lecture" to Micheal. "...This is the business we've chosen..." The other (also from GF II) is when "Cheech" testifies to the Senate committee. "...the family has a lot of buffers..."
even tho im not a native english speaker, the way you speak is really easy to understand. always love the content you make, great video and god bless your family!
I Loved this video. Not everyone needs to be Plato to say something brilliant. One of my favorite quotes is from my Uncle Joe, "There is a technique in everything in life. No matter what you career you pursue, whether it's a surgeon, mechanic, or musician, learn that technique."
Can only imagine the stories your father could tell us Michael what a life he lived my great grandmother was born 1900 as a kid and a teen I'd go play rummy with her just to talk but she left us in the early 2000s.Michael it's funny how we all become the story teller in our time if we make it long enough, the big circle of life.God Bless man.
Once again Great video Mr Franzese. My favorite (non mafia quote) about money comes from the HBO SERIES THE WIRE… “Money doesn’t have owners, only spenders”. 😆
Thanks Michael. I've had a similar outlook because I was involved in street life, done time as a teenager, then had a transition at 30 to become part of society - but my Street know-how comes back to help me. I'm learning lots from you, keep it up.
"To each their own given talents". An old time English boss of mine once taught me that in Hollywood. Everyone no matter of their education always has a talent no one else does. Never underestimate. the underdog.
Always love your wisdom Micheal! There is always something to be learned in various situations. “Sometimes we learn the easy way & sometimes we learn the hard way, but we always learn!”. ☺️
I've been following you for quite a while I've never ever gotten the perception that you glorify the life. I look at it as educating and entertaining and giving us your perception on the life thank you for what you do
Mr. Franzese, I am 23 and have great admiration and respect for you. It has been fascinating learning your words of wisdom. You remind of my late grandfather, having a similar demeanor. Both of you great men of character and discipline. Much respect 💪
The part that you stated that within the Mafia they didn't sue each other in civil court was very interesting because doing that would create many more facets of conflict and that would create anger and violence. I hadn't thought 💭 of that.
Great video as always Michael! I think you made a couple of mistakes though, the quote from Frank Costello was actually from Jack Nicholson’s character in Scorsese’s The Departed, South Boston Irish mob boss Frank Costello (based on “Whitey” Bulger, not sure why they named him after the former boss of the Luciano family). It’s in his opening monologue. Also, the quote from Arnold Rothstein was actually from Sam “Ace” Rothstein from Casino, who was based on Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal. Thanks again, great content as always.
Very interesting topic. Some of these bosses were brilliant in their own ways. Can't say I agree with all of them but definitely observations and philosophies to think about. Thank you!
Michael, as always another great video! I’m very big on motivational quotes. Always gets me through the days whether they’re good or bad! Every quote you read off was great! The one that stood out the most for me was 7:50, “the loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.” The quiet ones are always the alphas!
This was a good video. I love quotes from anyone and these were some good ones. One of my favorites was Michael's father. " Don't let your tongue be your enemy "that is a 1000% true.
@@michaelfranzese : You should Review One of My Favorite Mob Films called "Mobsters" where Actor Christian Slater plays Lucky Luciano, Patrick Dempsey plays Meyer Lansky, Richard Grieco plays Bugsy Siegel and an unknown actor named Costas Mandylor plays Frank Costello, Masseria is played by Great Actor Anthony Quinn who was in Gotti and Farranzano is played by Actor Michael Gambon. Tell Me what you think of The Movie, Michael. Ttyl!!😁👍👋
Hey Michael, please could you review A Dog Day afternoon for mob movies Monday, I would love to hear your review on it, especially the acting from Pacino and Cazale. Lots of love from the UK. Stay blessed.
One of my favorite quotes I use all the time doesn't come from a Mafia guy, but from Sonny Barger (RIP) of the Hells Angels: "You treat me good, I treat you better. You treat me bad, I treat you worse". Words to live by.
Micheal. I like the mob stuff because some of it is very wise and I can apply it to everyday life without crime. Yes, the Mafia lasted as long as it has because they are smart. Great video already. Al Capone was smart. ♥️ This is such a good channel. Such a good channel. Your father was a smart person. I would lie to protect someone I love. Absolutely. God bless you Micheal. ♥️
The people that were in the life. Most are/were awesome business people. I would love to hear your political information as well. Thank you for sharing. Be blessed. Your Dad had great advice. I agree the news is a conspiracy
Thank you for coming to England it was a pleasure to meet you finally, I remember asking you about Junior (Carmine Persico) and who he was to you and I loved your response, that he was "a great mentor and friend but he went to jail too many times!". I would love to see some more videos about funny interactions moments and interesting encounters you had with the guys back then! Loved this video, Michael God bless you in all that you do!
I love you and your stories Michael. They are familiar and close to my heart. I won't say who am bcz my family would go crazy on me. They're low profile and it has to stay that way. Keep up the good work. Listening to you is no different than sitting at my grandpa's dining room table playing cards after supper....deuces wild, jacks are better to open. They all loved envelopes. 💚
Great video Michael a lot of good quotes an wisdom. I would enjoy seeing a sit down video you haven't done one on awhile, would love it if you could get Joe Pesci.
Hi Michael! Thanks for an interesting video. I like Al Capone‘a observation that it is better to have 4 quarters than 100 pennies. I am my own best friend, I have a few good friends, some friends and carefully curated acquaintances. I set my expectations based on how I categorise someone, and there are no kerfuffles.
Hi Michael another interesting video as per usual. If we are going down the mob route in terms of quotes, Carlo Gambino’s famous “Fox and lion” is one of the all time greats. A wise quote from a wise man. Thanks as always from Glasgow Scotland 🇮🇹🏴
Glad you did another one of these videos those men may have gone down the wrong path but that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t apply their lessons and knowledge for good and for honest things God bless Mr. Franzese 🙏
Thank you for sharing this video. Please keep talking about whatever you want to talk about. It’s your channel, and most of us tune in to hear what YOU have to say. Not to craft and edit your thoughts for for you. You are the voice of common sense, reason, and truth in this upside down world of ours.
Your an inspiration sir thank you for everything you do. I have learned alot from your wisdom and hope to learn more. Seeing the way you speak and talk and things you say had made me a better man
Michael thanks for your great content, I’ve seen your 3 interviews on Vlad TV. Watched one with you on Hot box in with Mike Tyson, that was interesting lol some of your facial expressions at some of the host’s comments summed it up on who’d make it and what ones would be swimming with the fish . God bless you and your family
I was actually started to realise things about the Government, after I heard from criminal people about how the criminal people are or doing things in their own field. No difference !
Hey Michael! Can you talk about how communication was like in the mafia? Like negotiating, saying or not saying what you think, commanding respect, forming strategic connections, how much to trust others etc… would be cool if you could share your learnings and experiences on that.
Hi Michael, After watching your video, and seeing the respect you had for your father and his advice, it reminded me of my Dad and the times he advised me. I didn’t think I’d ever be as smart as Dad, and that’s why I listened, carefully, to what he had to say. My Dad was a hard working, politically conservative man who believed in the benefits of capitalism. None the less, he advised me to be careful with how I viewed money and success. He warned me once to be aware of the law of diminishing returns. Back when I was a teenager, I told him how I admired all the perks he was getting from his hard work. He said, that’s all fine, but just remember, if you make twice as much money, it doesn’t mean you will be twice as happy. I think our dads were from a time when there was so much going on in the world (the depression, World War II, etc.) that it shaped the way they thought and how they conducted themselves in life. As I grow older, his words are always there to guide me and make me better in many ways. And his advice , to me, is his legacy.
Hey hey hey my attention span is plenty...ooooh shiny! What was I saying? Michael I really enjoy your takes on things, and I love that your take on democracy is so similar to mine. The way i see it, the government had a hell of a time bringing down the mob, even had to create new laws in order to do so. I think the govt and the high level corporations learned a thing or two in doing so. You create levels of separation, never admit any guilt, silence anyone who is a loose end. Sound like the mafia? Or the corporate govt here in america and across the world. I really appreciate your take. Hope I get to meet you someday man. Congrats on what you've done.
Taking a break from sermon prepping on Proverbs 3:1-10 and I saw your tattoos on your arms. How providential. Love your videos Michael. I really appreciate the experience and wisdom you share.
