I clean house each week for an elderly gentleman. He has a guest bathroom that rarely is used so the toilet water leaves a hard water ring. I discovered that if I put a capful of downy in the bowl after I clean it each week there is no hard water ring. It makes sense because Downy is a water softer.

I love that idea. I bought a mechanic bowl to keep track of the pins as I pull them out. It's a lifesaver.....it's a bowl with a magnet on the bottom. Really works great when I'm sewing.

You are right! I do it! Laying a paper towel in the frig absorbs moisture. I also read a roll of toilet paper will do the same. I know, toilet paper sounds silly but it's like paper towels so it would work

I bought and used the veggie bags to cover my thornless blackberry clusters while they were ripening. They kept the birds from eating the berries. I just slid a bag over each cluster and gently pulled the strings to close them.

I bought those mesh bags at our local grocery and the directions said to use in lieu of the plastic bags that are available in the produce area, you know the thin plastic ones, so that’s what I use them for and take the produce out when I get home and store appropriately in fridge.

For toilet cleaning, try efferdent denture tabs. Throw it in the toilet, let it sit for 30 minutes - flush and your toilet is clean. 😁

😊 i bought the veggie bags too. I rarely use them. My best advice for storing onions is panty hose. Their inexpensive and work great. Simply add one and tie a knot before adding each one. Just hang them in your pantry. They last a long time this way.

Agreed. For keeping your produce fresher IN the fridge, regular plastic bags are pretty good. I find it’s especially good if I dampen a paper towel slightly, and wrap the produce so it doesn’t actually touch the bag. That will keep the produce from getting slimy. Don’t store stuff in the fridge in COMPOST bags though. Those accelerate rotting! They aren’t the right kind of “plastic”.

Yes! Veggie mesh bags are to replace the flimsy produce bags on the roll . They are for transport. I use "green bags" for lettuce, etc. Remember, not all produce is the same when it comes to storage. Each type of item has different need.

You could use the veggie bags to wash your underwear in the washer. Toilet cleaning...I used CLR cleaner on some stubborn water stains using your method with the saturated paper towels and left it over night. Cleaned it up! Don't forget to remove the paper towel before flushing 😊

Two exciting things at the beauty aisle at the Dollar Tree. 1) Their generic micellar water. I never liked micellar water, but I needed a cheap eye makeup remover and I bought this one. It is the best I've ever used. 2) Olay has creams in reddish jars that are supposed to be really good for your face. Dollar Tree sells its own brand in slightly smaller containers, but with comparable ingredients!

Wish not to have to write this, but the sweet things we eat after dinner is spelled...dessert...not desert. To remember how to spell those words, think of what you want the most of after dinner and it's the one with the most s letters! Desert is a place of heat and tons of sand! Dessert is the yummy thing you look forward to...and has the most s letters! Just saying dear...please don't hate!

@@kristilindley7849 Thanks for this memory trick. Most people don't know that spelling is mostly a visual skill and not all people have it. If a word can be spelled phonetically, I am usually good. And I learn to say , in my head, how to say it phonetically I am great. For example Con nec ti cut. But I need help with words like dessert or destroy. When in school I wrote the word destroy hundreds of times and still could not remmeber until a friend told me that God would destroy evil. In the olden days, people would say write it both ways and see which looks right. That never heiped me. Of course being left handed/ambidextrious may have an effect as well. Thanks again. And I should add that Andrea might have just mistyped rather than actually spelling the word wrong.

You can get rid of the water ring (mineral deposits) in your toilet in less than 5 minutes! Buy the dollar trees version of “Lime away” spray & just spray it in, wait few minutes and wash away! That’s what it’s made for. Good luck🥰

Jelly Belly Car airfreshners have a wonderful smell to them. Last time I went to Dollar Tree in Farmington, Maine I bought all of the Jelly Bellys they had! That amt. was 10, I just love them! Pick some up if your store has them

Try taking a very fine nail file or emery cloth to the stackable drawer that is stuck. Go slow and take your time. Find the part that is sticking and this should be an easy fix.

Veggie bags are reduce the waste of the plastic bags at the grocery store. Not for storing veggies in the fridge. Different veggies require different storage based on moisture. (Ask Tupperware! They have perfect containers for this use.)

When the car air fresheners lose their scent, I put a few drops of essential oils on them and keep them in place. Let the oil soak in first before putting it back.

The REAL TRICK to keeping produce fresh longer is to wrap it in paper towels! Take the veggies out and wrap them in a thickness or two of paper towels, and then put them back in the bag as usual. The paper absorbs the moisture (sweat) that has a habit of collecting on raw veggies and causing them to go bad quicker. Pop a couple paper towels in the containers they come in and change them out when you notice the old ones have become too damp. This is the NEWEST HACK that is going around and I've discovered it really does help keep your raw veggies fresh longer!

I have always loved using comet for my stainless steel sinks. Love the clean smell and getting the grunge up. I have to say that it takes a few times rinsing and wiping to get the residue from the powder. Not a fan of the booger slime either 😂

My daughter just installed an expensive stainless steel sink. Instructions said to only clean it with Liquid Bar Keepers friend. BarKeepers friend is what works in your toilet to remove the ring and rust etc without damaging the finish. My mother scrubbed away the porcelain finishes in her new house porcelain fixtures when she was younger, not knowing that she was destroying the finish until it was too late and damage was done. Barkeepers Friend pays for itself. Manufacturers know what they are talking about.

Great video, lots of good tips. I learned a long time ago the best way to store celery is in aluminum foil, but a couple of weeks ago Pam over at Pam's Place mentioned that's a good way to keep lettuce fresh too. Slap my forehead, why didn't I think of that?!? May not look as cute, but I'll take saving produce over cuteness any day. Just sayin'.

For those hard water stains in the toilet, I fill a bucket of water (from the dollar tree) and pour the bucket of water down into the toilet. This will then flush out the majority of the water. I then use the toilet bowl cleaning product (Ie. Lysol or Clorox - blue gel type and do not mix products) and shake it and squirt it all over the toilet. I let the product sit for a 1/2 hour or if the stains are bad, leave it soaking for longer. I then use the toilet brush and scrub the bowl. Then flush the toilet bowl. This usually does the trick of getting rid of all the nasty stains. However, if the stains are really bad, you might have to do all the steps above, a few times. Hope this helps.

Toilet rings...try baking soda and vinegar let sit an hour then add a little dish soap on top and let sit for a bit longer then SCRUB. Won’t have to scrub too hard the longer you let it sit.

The bags are not meant for storage. They are just for replacing the plastic bags on the roller at the store to bring stuff home in.. I use them for things like apples etc etc.

Let me help everyone with the hard water stains in yiur toilet. If you get this product you just have to put it in the toilet and use your toilet brush. You don't have to scrub hard or anything. I hate having well water and hard stains from the water drives me nuts. Well it did until I found Lysol toilet bowl cleaner. It has a black and white label. The label says....Lysol toilet bowl cleaner with Lime and Rust remover. I mix it in a spray bottle and use it to help clean the hard stains in my shower and sink. Only mix what you may think you will need. Good Luck!

Toilet bowl cleaner is not made to be used in the shower! I learned the hard way 😊 It will eat through the paint on your tub and shower knobs and discolor them and also your drain.

Oh wow! I haven't had any problems with it. I use about 2 cups of water and only put a little of the cleaner in it and shake. I will only use it that way if the tub and shower are really dirty with stuff I can't scrub off. But mostly I will just use a little of the toilet bowl cleaner by itself on stubborn stains, scrub it clean and rinse. Then I will clean the rest of the tub/shower with regular cleaner. I will definitely be more cautious now that you said it will eat through things, thanks for the info.

I think those veggie bags are for potatoes, onions, yams, garlic, ect. The vegetables that you don't store in the fridge.

Oh yeah, you can also make wonderful Snelling sachets to hang all around in your closets and underneath thing, also building with charcoal and hang them in damp areas to collect moisture and odors

I never leave my vegetables in the bag. They just don't do well in my refrigerator the moisture makes them go bad faster if I left in bags. And if you're wondering no I don't get that refrigerator smell onto my vegetables, they do amazing. They thrive and last much longer.

Chocolate Tootsie pops are my fav and the only kind I like to eat. Also, I have reusable grocery bags and I keep the veggie bags in them so when I go shopping I use the veggie bags to put my produce in so they are visible and I'm not using the plastic grocery bags or the shopping bags. When I come home, I wash and store the producein the appropriate containers and put the reusable veggie bags back in the shopping bag for the next grocery run.

Lime away toilet bowl cleaner works well on rust/lime toilet rings. They are smaller bottles but it works! I get a couple bottles each time.

Hi, I have to tell you that we have very hard water and I use comet with bleach on my toilets for the dang ring and it gets it off without using the tp soak. I do have to use some elbow grease and I sprinkle the comet a few times as I am scrubbing, but it works to make the toilet look brand new! LOVE COMET lol

I use the veggie bags for shopping only: they're really good for putting loose veggies in, and, then, I don't have yet another bag to take back for recycling. I also tend to take care of veggies in the fabric bags immediately because I know they need to be transferred into something that will keep them longer.
