I have a way to make it even cooler, start up by making them choose a card that will be their card and another 4 cards both you and the spectator won't look at. Control the spectators card to the bottom, then tell them what you're gonna do, then, as you are talking about dealing the cards, deal 8 cards on the table, as if you're giving an example, then drop the deck on top, moving the bottom card (their card) to the 9th position, continue as the video suggests but with the 4 prediction cards from the begging, the effect is mindblowing.
Have a look on my way of doing the same effect. Does not need any control or suspicious cuts or controls. My comment explaining should be 3 or 4 before yours. Smart touch in your explanation. Funny having different visions of the same trick.
I do something very similar. I have a spectator cut the deck into 4 piles. Then 4 people take the top 3 cards off each pile, make a selection. Meanwhile I pick up the 4 piles keeping the bottom card in place. After they discard their cards I put the deck on top of the pile and am ready to go.
Love your card tricks! I am a school teacher and since I found your channel on RU-vid. I tell my students that I will show them a card trick at the end of the day if they have a good day in the classroom. This has worked like a charm! Even done some of your tricks multiple times. Thanks!!
I found a good way to get the 9th card. After I let my spectator Shuffle, I say oh yes I need to remove the Joker's and count through to find the 9th card. Once that's done I performed the trick and so far, everyone's been amazed!
The way this trick works is that, in the start you have 52 cards. Then you take any 4 cards. So you have 48 cards left. And if you deal cards upto 10 for any 4 cards and and then add their sum and then deal that no. of cards will always be 40. Example - Let's say we have an ace, a seven, an eight and a king. So we deal 9 cards for the ace, 3 cards for the seven, 2 cards for the eight and no cards for the king. Their sum = 9 + 3 + 2 =14 And the sum of the values of the 4 cards are 1(ace), 7(seven), 8(eight), 10(king) = 1 + 7 + 8 + 10 = 26. And 26 + 14 = 40. And the total no. of cards left are 52-4 = 48, then we deal 40 cards and show them the last card dealt which will be the 9th card from the bottom always.
i dont know why....but each time i do the trick i get my predicted card one less than the sum of four cards......i removed the jokers,,,,but its still the same
I did this about a million times and I still will not end up with the ninth card, I watched the video over and over, and I do have 52 cards, I counted 😕help anyone
Another way to make sure spectator does not pick out the 9th card from bottom is to ask them 4 random birthdates of people he knows. So if they say 4th,16th,22nd,31st you will pick out those cards as their choice and pick those 4 counting from from the top of deck and keeping your marked card pretty safe since the max they can say is 31st.Also adds a little intrigue.
You can ask them to choose any number between 1-10 and then count the chosen number and draw the card. Repeat this 3 more times. By doing this you can make the person choose cards between 1-40 and not the last 9 cards.
suggestion: after picking the bottom card, make a riffle shuffle letting the same last card. After that, ask 4 spectators to take each 3 cards of the deck without looking their cards, and make them choose one of the 3 to each . That will add randomness. The 8 cards they dont want are taken back by the magician and place on bottom of the deck in a casual form. No needs to hide anything. Even more, it gives confidence that the last card is not involved (when it is). because your picked card will now be nineth counting from bottom...Exactly where your prediction has to be. The rest of the trick can be done as you explained it, or even better, letting one of the 4 cards that have to be counted face down...and ask to one of the spectator to give any value he wants from 0ne to ten( example, if the spectator choose the face down card to be a 4, you have to add 6 cards on it to make 10 and remember to count the face down card as a 4 for your final counting)). One more time it will add randomness without changing nothing in the way of reaching your prediction. As simple as, same trick, but I think gives a little touch of hazard. Try it, and make a new tutorial for everybody if you like it. Some adds, you don't really need to look your deck after the spectator shuffling, just pick the bottom. Easy to do making a riffle shuffle. Will be more natural to make your "prediction". Enjoy.
I typed "the best card trick for begginers" and one of the top 5-6 was your video and I was watching other your videos and I liked them a lot. Good job btw😉
I prefer 7 as in lucky 7 because easy to remember years later with limited practice. How do I get to 7 instead of 9? Easy do a 1 card cut and stop ON the # with a dramatic pause to indicate that the prediction is the next card AFTER the count.
I like this because The Magician can employ the bullcrap explanation for why they made their prediction based on phoney loose connections to the 4 cards. The original nonsense card trick uses 3 piles with noting 7th card. This is 4 piles note 9th.
Hunter_128 Boss It should work 100% of the time... it's just math. You take off four cards from the top, then deal down a total of 40 more cards. The last card dealt down will be the 44th card in the deck, aka the 9th card from the bottom of the deck. As long as none of the 4 cards originally selected are in the 44th-52nd position in the deck, this trick should work 100% of the time.
This happened to me and I am like wth really and i an honest So what happened was when I was doing this trick we should take 4 random cards right I took and I got K of hearts 10 of spades Q of clubs J of spades I thought the trick would not work but instead it worked
It’s a good trick but your tutorial gets confusing when you introduce two methods of how to do it in the same rap ~~~ I suggest you teach the performance method you initially showed us & then separately add a second tutorial showing the variation of a different method, please. You talk a little quickly, so please slow down for us older folks. 😁. Keep on keeping on bruddah, mahalos & Aloha 🤙🏾
Example you knew the 9th card is Ace of Spades, First you must locate the 9th card and remember It , they will predict they own card, So I can add some method that using that trick but, you need a paper and you will wrote down an Ace(1) - 10 and Jack - King and #1you will let them pick what they want (if you seen the 9th card is Number card you will Cross line the Face Card and if they pick a Face Card you will Cross line the number card, #2 after that you will move on and say pick a 5 number if the Face are Cross lined and if they Cross lined the Number let them pick the Face Cards and say Pick a 2 number, you know the 9th is AofSpades and you will let them choose what Card you written on the paper Number 1-10 and Face Cards Jack-King, you will say pick a card a Number Card or a Face card read #1 and understand it. and you will left a Number 1-10 and you will do the #2 move ex. 12345678910 they pick a random number like 2,4,6,3,7 you must keep it mind that the 9th card is their prediction. 2,4,6,3,7 isnt the 9th card it is 1(Ace of Spades) and you will Cross line the 2,4,6,3,7 numbers and continue to let them pick a 3 Number on 1,5,8,9,10 ex. they pick the number 1,8, and 10 you must let them force to pick the Number 1(ace) and ask them again to pick a 2 Number on 1,8, and 10 if they pick 8 and 10 Cross line the number 1 and its thier number card is 1, but if they pick 1 and 8 or 1 and 10 you must continue the process to let them force to pick number 1 on the last 2 number left, after they left with 1(ace) you already wrote down a suites and it will be a (Spade, Diamond, Clubs, and Heart) you will force them to pick Spade because the 9th card is AofSpde and you will ask them again that they will pick a 2 suites ex. if they pick Spade and Heart its good you can cross line the Diamnd and Clubs, but if they picked Heart and Diamond or Clubs you must cross line it dont cross line the Ace, after you left 2 suites ex. spade and heart you ask them to choose 1 suite and after they pick a suite ex. they picked Spade you will cross line the Heart or if they picked a Heart cross line the heart you will force them to left by a suite of Spade and you will recap and say you picked the Number Cards and Number 1(ace) and Suite of Spades, thats thier own prediction and you will write down the ACE OF SPADES and do the trick. its so powerful trick thanks for it mate.
Something doesn't make sense to me. I'm probably missing something, but you're taking out 4 cards at the start and then you're essentially "removing" the top40 cards (by dealing them on every column and counting out the sum of the values of the first 4 cards). That puts the "predicted" card's position at 45. There's 52 cards in a deck (assuming no jokers). The 45th card from the top is the 8th from the bottom and not the 9th, right?
I ran across your videos while watching episodes of Penn and Teller on You Tube about 4 years ago and I subscribed and have been watching you ever since.
My little twist….I don’t write the identity down after we “inspect” the deck and I’ve identified the ninth card. It’s a bit obvious IMO. I wait until I have dealt out the four cards, I scowl at them for a second, then I write the card down on paper, fold it so the spectator can’t read it, hand it to the spectator and ask them to put it in a pocket. By then, they have forgotten that we looked at the cards together. After I deal down to their card, I leave their card face down, pause, and then ask them to get the paper out of their pocket. I ask them to unfold and read what’s there. After they read the identity of the card, I flip their card over. They are always blown away.
Basically, you are getting 11 cards off from the deck, and by having 4 cards drawn the spectator is getting 44 cards out. In a 52-card deck, the 44th card is the 9th card counting from the bottom.
The trick went wrong it was on before the number at the end. Example so the 4 card are 1 4 3 6 so add them all together equals 14 but the card shows in the 13 position
What an excellent trick - and entirely self-working ! Many thanks ! I also noticed that if the chosen (selected) card is the one at the bottom of the deck (instead of the 9th from the bottom) you can use the face cards counting up to 13 ( Jack = 11, Q = 12, K= 13) IF you also put the 4 chosen cards back on to the top of the deck before counting out the cards . So another way to do the trick is to ask the spectator to choose 5 cards : 4 are used for the counting process and the 5th card (which the performer does not need to see) is put at the bottom of the deck . Then the spectator finds his 5th card using the counting onto the 4 other cards . Actually , in this way, the spectator can do the whole trick himself so the magician is 100% hands off.
You must have preformed it wrong, it worked perfectly for me and I'm adding my own things to it now. Watch carefully and try try again that's all I can tell you
Great tutorial, but if viewers want to get away from the paper and pen prediction, you could do the Columbo absent minded Einstein reveal where you give a bloated explanation as to why the 4 face up cards have you arrive at your answer, all totally bogus but NEVER reveal that as in that lies the rub. The more division, multiplication, 2 digits added across ridiculousness the better. It takes creatively to make the silly no rules -rules actually make sense in an illogical way. The humor and on your feetness of this method makes BULLCRAP my favorite card trick of all time.
ALL court cards will be 10 in value, as well as tens themselves. This is so that the total value of the four cards can't exceed 40 (which is going to be the ninth card from the bottom).
Just a heads up for some people, if you’re like me and keep your jokers and double backer card in your deck, TAKE THEM OUT BEFORE PERFORMING THIS TRICK OR IT WONT WORK. Excellent trick. Works perfect. But if you don’t have 52 cards it doesn’t work.
U can do that routine in another way. Give the deck to one of your spectator to be shuffled genuinely. tell him to choose 3 cards face down. Do the same with 3 other spectators, shuffle and take out 3 cards from the deck face down. At the end spectators will have taken 12 cards. Take the deck of cards back and have a peak on the last one(discreet) You can even shuffle yourself without moving that last card you peaked. Now tell them to randomly give you 2 cards back to each of them . You will be given back 8 cards by your four spectators. and put the 8 cards back from the spectators at the bottom of your deck, . From that point you are on the same situation than the routine you're explaining in the video. Your peak will find eatself at the 9th card beginning from bottom. And there is a another twist you can do. Tell to each of your spectators to put the card they kept face down on the table in a row. Ask a spectator to choose 3 of them to put them face up, but the last one still be face down. The spectator have to give a value from one to ten to that face down card... That way gives more impression of random scenario. The mathematical principle still the same, but give less impression of counting. Another advantage is that spectators can take any card they want from first to last. Because your prediction can be made when you took the 8 cards back... Try it, and make us a nice video as an alternative routine. Good luck
