I love both of these. I don't know why I haven't thought of this myself as I use scraps and stitch them for my junk journals, just as you mentioned. I will now think about using some for cards and layouts. Thank you for the inspiration.
Great idea! I'm looking forward to day 2. I might join you in this challenge... If I'm forced to throw something away I'll certainly find a way to use it lol
I love the patchwork quilt idea! I have used scraps to cut strips and place them diagonally on paper for layouts and cards, but this will allow me to be even more creative! I have been traveling in a small camper since the end of December. I have produced A LOT of scraps while scrapbooking with even the limited supplies I have with me. This process will allow me to stretch my limited supplies even further. Can’t wait to see your next project.
I love, love, love your beautiful layout and card. The patch work idea is such a clever way to use up those pieces. I am sure all of us crafter have many pieces of leftovers. I actually love patchwork designs. They can look so interesting and make beautiful backgrounds. Getting clusters just right certainly can be a challenge. I find sometimes something will go together easily and other times it can be lots of trial and error. Bows are the best aren’t they. They always add that little something extra to a layout or card. Thank you so very much for another wonderful and cheerful video. I loved watching these projects take shape. I am very excited to see how your challenge goes. I am sure you will come up with more wonderful ways to use up those pieces.😃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much Maree, I really enjoyed putting the paper patch work together. So fun! I'm sure you're going to love this series, hopefully lots of ideas for your scraps.
Hi Gwen, love the idea of your scrap challenge ... and I've got to hand it to you, you've made a great start. I always love to see how you put all the bits and pieces together to kickstart your projects -- great job! Thanks so much. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
This is a fun challenge! I just went through my small scraps and used die cuts so I have them at the ready on my desk. I went through the scraps by colour and got some inspiration when I saw the die cuts all together.
So glad you are enjoying it so far 🥰 I need to get my scraps in order, they are all just sorted by manufacturer, so all of the Maggie ones are in together, then all of the Pink Fresh etc.
Awesome awesome way to use the scraps of course I’m in to use mine the same way thanks for super amazing inspiration like always you rock thanks stay bless ❤ beautiful layout 😊
Wow, you are amazing, Gwen! Your layout is stunning! I can’t say enough, how much I appreciate you sharing another fantastic series. I’m looking forward to seeing what else you create. 😊
@@CreatedByGwen I love the way you approached yours. I have had mixed results. I don't use a lot of patterned paper, so my scraps can be VERY random. I will need to make a new one AFTER sorting scraps and pulling things that will coordinate better.
@@marthastrayton I'm sure I've done it too at some stage... sometimes the busy prints look better on the inside of an envelope so I choose them on purpose.
I really like this idea. Love both the page and card although I feel like the page layout got almost completely covered. You can appreciate the patch work much better on the card.
Thanks! Yes, you do loose some of the patchwork when you add photos and embellishments and you don't have to go as 'heavy' with those as I did here, it's just my style. I kept the card really clean so you could see how it would look both ways and you're right, the patchwork shows up a lot more on it that way.
