This movie was brutal and unforgiving. There are some movies that go so deep into the dark that they make you rather face reality than keep watching. The cast did a fantastic job.
I love the comments as they relate to the Game Of Thrones Actors. Looks good, the subject matter has been done before but the casting choices are very solid.
I had at least 10 anxiety attacks while watching this movie. It was so intense and so cruel. That ending was unforgivable. It definitely went deep at my skin.
What do you mean, Dakota Fanning is a MOTHER, all grown-up and all ? Yesterday she was Tom Cruise's adorable, tiny daughter, running all around with her baby legs from giant aliens... Yesterday, in 2005... Wtf world
This movie was brutal! Can't believe a man could be so evil! The ending was so depressing 😭😭. This is one that I won't forget for a long long time. Amazing movie!
dude, you have no idea what scums are.come to my town...they pee on streets..animals roaming peeing shitting everywhere on streets.noise all the time of automobiles, and trash loads used as landmarks. welcome!!!!!!!!
sortedevaras this movie triggered me so fucking much, I really wanted to kill Guy Pearce so bad but I couldn't... Movie is slow, but it's great, but beware of getting triggered the fuck out.
This movie is a work of art. It hits you with any uncomfortable feeling you have yet it's emotional and moving. Very dark and pretty fucked which I like. Most importantly the character development was incredibly deep, well written and acted. A story told well, go watch.
Agreed - though I loved the Neon Demon I never liked her in anything else. Dakota is by far the better actor imo and is always convincing - even when taking shitty roles (Twilight anyone?)
Right. Remember Salem? The witch trials of England? Joan of Arc? The punishment and persecution of women has been a staple of christianity since the very beginning.
Excellent to see Guy Pearce still doing movies. Man never stops, seen him since his days in the; Neighbors TV series. Besides his fellow Australia; Alan Dale he's the only man to truly shine in Hollywood since leaving that show. Brimstone looks to be good, might check it out and see how he does in it!
lisette la chat umm I don’t think there is any animal cruelty, it’s more human cruelty lol. It’s such a good film, watch it if you have the attention span and a strong emotional grip. It’s intense. It’s kind of like a mystery but you put the puzzle pieces as you go. I’ll give it away if I tell you what it’s about.
"most people think the flames are what makes hell unbearable. it isnt the flames, its the absence of love". damm, that quote stuck with me after the movie ended.
Very Vintage gothic, Very Sad, and Very Good ! Recommend it to every one who is not closed minded Christian that believes that abuse and false prophets are unrealistic in the Christian community. 5/2018
Great movie. One of the best I’ve seen in years. And for all those complaining about the ending. Only Hollywood for years demanded a happy ending. No pun. The rest of the world made films that showed in real life there are few endings that are happy. For true film afficiendos this ones for you. Enjoy
I know you see Some how the world will change for me And be so wonderful Live life Breath air I know some how we're gonna get there And feel so wonderful It's all for-reaal I'm tellin you just how I feel So wake up the members of my nation It's your time to be There's no chance unless you take one Everytime Just see the brighter side Of every situation Somethings are meant to be So gimme your best And leave the rest to me Leave it all to me (leave it all to me) Leave it all to me Just leave it all to me
THIS FILM BROKE ME. THE POWER THAT IT HAS IN IT'S IMPACT IS ENORMOUS. EACH AND EVERY NERVE OF MINE WERE TOUCHED BY IT. THE LAST TIME I HAD FELT SUCH THING WAS WHEN I WATCHED THE REQUIEM OF A DREAM.
I see all these negative comments on the movie from pseudo intellectuals...I've watched the movie and I can tell that Dakota's acting was beyond any expectations, a thrill, not to mention Guy Pearce that OBVS made a hell of a villain
Well, Brimstone seems to show the world as it probably was and maybe even still is in some parts. So happy that I found this movie on boxxy software and watched for free. It has a story and I love how it is pieced together.
This movie is a perfect mission statement for everything Hollywood. It is violent, vulgar, pointlessly sadistic and does nothing but show men in a negative light. If you need some cheering down I recommmend buying a ticket.
This movie was really disturbing for me to watch. And really hard too. Dakota fanning, Guy Pearce and kid Harrington, all did amazing fantastic acting performances in this movie for 2017. The story however was really rough to watch a father falling in love with his daughter is really bad to watch and really sick in real life too. But overall it was interesting to watch a little bit but it was still one of the hardest movies to watch in my life.
What a dark movie, I am still in shock, depressing, dark yet the best movie I have ever seen. I was in shock for perfect 2 hours while watching and probably for a week after watching it
As movie progressed, every scene was harder and harsher. I cried through it all, but it was great at the same time. 10/10 recommended (if you wanna cry and be aback from all the violence and sadism).
I just watched it too. Makes me think of 50 shades of grey in the 1800s or 'A Serbian film' but with some Dutch in stead of Serbian. It was mainly disturbing and not very interesting. A shame because I do like Dakota Fanning.
Hahahh, NO. Go read some actual christian books, so you ll understand. You might find something really touching in the writings of Efraim of Arizona. There are also many recordings of monks from Athos, that are now dead, and that really helped a lot of people. I won t mind if you ll dislike these. Maybe it s not the right time for you. But one day you might see that TRUE CHRISTIANITY (not pentecostalism, not catholicis -because they wanted to modernize the dogmas and morals and ended up doing so much harm- but ORTHODOXY) is not what most tell you it is. Religion is not here to condemn you for your sins. It is here to help you go through your though times. And this is exactly what a spiritual father and the comunity is about. Orthodoxy is about love, peace, gentleness. It may sound hippie, but it s not only that. It is also about being cultivated, kind, helpful, and a healer of souls for those around you. Big words, i know, but it is a philosophy of life, a way of living.
Kent Merr the proposition is one of the best foreign films ever made! very dark compared to common American westerns ! Nick Cave is an awesome screenwriter as well as a musician ! His soundtrack adds that dark intense tone to the film !
It looks like an awesome movie. BUT. The IRON MASK made me reconsider. I got chills b/c in a courtroom scene, I was reminded me of the iron muzzle used as punishment for African slaves. You see one in the slave ship/Middle Passage scene in the movie 12 Years a Slave. One of those facts of history that haunt me -- deliberately excluded from history books that gloss over some of the true horrors of slavery. Even changing the word "slave" to "servant" in 2018
