Becky don't paint the doorbell black, you're gonna hate a black box that draws the eye. White is a better choice...it will blend with the trim as far as drawing the eye. The place looks good. I'm so happy for you and Josh.
I agree Becky, if you feel the need to paint, match the walls or trim. It’s better to blend. The doorbell actually adds a little warmth that you could play on with decorations…❤
You’ll have to learn to be patient and watch and see how things come together. I’m sure your builder will do what he said he would. Patience child, you don’t want to aggravate your builder.
Becky, I like to keep a baby food jar of the wall paint in y cupboard so that if something gets scratched or I move a picture I have that dab of paint at hand to touch up! Love the color you chose.
Your parents are so precious!! I miss mine so so much!! We were all such a close family much like yours. When one had projects to get done at their home we all joined forces to lend a hand or two. It was more like a party when we all got together. Wonderful times and beautiful memories❤️

@Bev Airey yup! I need one too. I used to be a perfectionist and fastidious in keeping my house clean. Shoot you could literally eat off my floors. Now that I am way way older it's just not going to happen. A little dirt doesn't harm anyone.
I love hearing young folks like you who appreciate all your parents do for you! When the roles change you can count on family to fill in the gaps. That is what we are supposed to do and is truly a blessing!
Becky! Your mindset is so refreshing. I will say I’ve been to friends and close family homes while they’re working on a project and I LOVE seeing and hearing about the progress. It’s just really special to see someone’s dreams coming to life 😊 While it feels a little chaotic right now it will all be done when you’re gardening this summer! I’m perpetually impressed by how much you get done while caring for a newborn. Whew, you’re a rockstar!
I love seeing your parents in your videos. I love how they pitch in and help with your projects. It reminds me so much of my parents. They have both passed on now and I miss them so thank you for sharing yours.

It's looking great! So awesome to see the relationships you have with your parents. The light doorbell box might look better if you painted it the color of the walls. It would blend in better than the black would.

Enjoyed the video. Amazing the talent of the man placing the rocks. I think the doorbell should be white like all the other trim and electric covers. It is not so beautiful that it needs to stand out in black.
Do you think the workers are bothered with chickens in there way while working, I would think so & also having someone watching them 24/7 is probably a bit of nuisance..

I started trying to repaint a room in our house, but our house is from the 40s and everything has just gotten the landlord treatment over the years. The baseboards are lumpy, stained, and just kind of nasty overall. So I had to strip those first, but theres so much paint the stripper didnt get through all of the layers. It's a mess and it's been like a month and I have yet to paint anything
Hardscapes add so much value to your property too. I had a huge landscape company insured in Central IN and doing these hardscapes to such perfection is definitely an art of creation.

Mine too. He used to travel 35 miles one way to take care of my dogs when I was out of town. They didn’t kennel well, my female always got sick. He had dogs so he would travel to take care of mine

Your dad is amazing. I wouldn't paint the doorbell black unless you want to draw attention to it. Doorbells, smoke alarms & fire alarms should be as invisible as you can get them.
I agree! As an adult, I have so much appreciation for my parents when they were alive. I miss them terribly, but looking around my home has them with me everyday…my parents were like hers, helpful when asked and always fun to be around….wonderful, happy memories….
Take it from me Becky, don’t talk yourself out of repainting your pantry. I did the same thing as you and paid to have the house panted, hated it and then repainted ourself. The pantry seemed too overwhelming so I told myself I’d do it “later” it’s been a couple years and the darn pantry is STILL the original color. Once little man is mobile, your painting time is over. Your home is beautiful!!! ❤
I'm so glad you went with your heart to change the color on the walls. I thought the original color was pretty and I liked it but now that you have changed it I absolutely love it! I have never felt jealous of what my children have or do, I just love to see them progress and build there lives and thrive, same with the grandchildren I love to hear how there jobs are going and what they are doing, that’s the joy of having children, watching the next generation building happy families.

My mum and dad are coming to visit in June and have specifically requested find something they can help with! My dad loves painting and my mum is good in the garden. I wish they lived near not in a different country - I'd have to live up to their ability to be always busy and do more!
What do you think of the idea of painting your doorbell cover the color of the wall. That way it would blend in. Just a thought. I know you will figure out what’s best for you and it will be wonderful. 💜
Definitely appreciate your parents, one day you will miss them for the rest of your life. I'd give just about anything to have a day with my dad and my kids. I was a single mom raising three amazing kids when he passed away. I visited my mom today and she is so different. She's got dementia. So Becky while you guys have your parents and Josh's parents take pictures with them of just ordinary day's, those are the moments you will miss the most. Thank you for taking us along on your great adventures. Life is a beautiful thing! Blessed, we are so blessed!!

I can see how easy it would be to get distracted by the workers. It's a beautiful day to be outside. Here in Georgia, our weather is crazy as well. Hubby wore shorts yesterday, but it's cooler today, with rain expected tomorrow...enjoy your time! The girls are sure enjoying their buffet...😆
I'm so excited to see how it turns out for y'all. My husband and I are expanding our garden. My goal is to have all my front yard garden by next year. And out back yard will be all the fruit trees I can get. I only have a half acre of land and we live out in the middle of nowhere so I don't have to worry about permits or anyting thankfully
Don’t ever put paint back in the bucket. Hair, dust, bits of paint that dried a little, will contaminate the good paint. We had to throw out 2 gallons (of a 5 gallon bucket) because it was coming out with so many little pieces of gunk, it was unusable.
Congrats on dropping a kiss of the "house beautiful" perfectionism. Hopefully your guests will notice and remember the paint supplies stacked in the corner and tools in the kitchen. It will make thier return when this phase is done and things are turned into (closer to) perfection all the more of a marvel.
OMG, the chickens...I'm laughing so hard!!! We have a lot of chickens so I can relate. Then the milk. You have me in tears. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 No, don't paint the door bell black, i think it will stick out like a sore thumb. Keep it a more neutral color.
