Even though I go back and watch many of the lessons/covers on your old PT channel, I still enjoy watching your new postings of the same songs as I find I often glean something new. Much appreciated!
Hey James, your videos are greatly appreciated. Your manner of showing how you play a song resonates with me. It's obvious that you love rock n roll. I'd request a guitar lesson but every time I think of one to ask for ,sure enough you've already covered it. Rock On!
@@jamesjames9275 yeah I would say until the end of back to the clubs in 71, but honestly, you could keep that peak going all the way through 72 or even 73. Other than Robert everyone is on fire, Roberts decline really started after the la 71 shows in august
@@jamesjames9275 Robert at only 50% is still miles ahead of everyone else. 69 - 72 was pure balls and emotion. Going from IMHO a terrible 75 summer tour he learned how to sing and compensate for the damage he did to his teenage voice. He was in fine form in 77 and even up to 07 and beyond, there is only one Robert !
James Learned this one Back in 91 when I purchased Led Zeppelin Complete catalog it was a lot harder then....NO RU-vid or James James! Things are much easier now!! Thanks James!!!
You are one of my “go to” guys for guitar lessons. I like how you will play some of the more obscure vintage rock songs sometimes the only example that I can find. I get a lot out of your covers too. Many times no words are needed. Awesome job!
Thank you for all your videos, even the repeats. You've taught me more than a dozen songs during pandemic quarantine. Thank you thank you. Keep rockin brah!🤘🏼🍻✌🏼
I love your channel. This is one of the channels that got me playing again after years! But yours more by far. I was in bands in and after high school and was crazy for zeppelin and covered a fair amount of material as a singer. I was always the better singer and we had enough guitarists so I didn’t play professionally for years either. But these enigmatic (and surprisingly simple) little riffs of Page’s, many I never worked out for myself, still fascinated me. I love this one and I learned it from you, bro. Thanks!!
It’s songs like this and How Many More Times that made me fall in love with Led Zeppelin. It’s all great but these intense songs that are clearly about women we desire are just so powerful with a lot of attitude.
Thanks for the tutorial. I’ve come late to the guitar family (been playing for 3 years) but am so happy to learn the riffs and songs I listened to in my youth. Love Led Zep. Thanks buddy.
If people do not corollate the link between the two channels mate.... they ain’t proper followers of your awesome channels(s)..... so I wouldn’t even justify myself.... rant over!!!!.... just woke up to this in Scotland this morning on a very cold wet day with nothing on my schedule!!!.... thank you as usual!!!
I rarely (im sorry) watch or write comments these days, but I wanted to thank you. I starting playing guitar because of Led Zeppelin, but I actually learned guitar thanks to you by playing rhythm songs when you still were on privettricker channel. You showed me a lot of great classic bands from way back and I'm thankful for that. And I started playing 10 years ago. I love you. Even though I don't listen to classic rock as much anymore (there's a lot of new great music too) and don't play as muhc cuz I simply lost motivation to do so I'll always appreciate you cuz you actually changed my life. But thats for longer discussion :). All that by just making videos! It might be nothing for you but you made a huge positive impact on my lfie and I wish you well my man!
Bro. Last night I was trying to put the finishing touches on this. And now you put this awesome lesson out today wearing my hometown jersey! Fate. LOL!!! Thank you!
Considering how often JPP has flogged those Zep reissues over the years, this "remastered edition" seems somehow appropriately fitting. Great content as always.
Thanks for the video, I had forgotten about this one and hadn’t play it in years.. and I don’t feel ripped off at all 🤪 geese, some people’s kids. As always, your videos are fun to watch and simple to learn from quickly.
Hello James or Privattetricker i've been watching you since the early days and its Superb the dedication that you have in cheering wath you acheeve in the tecnicaly and knowlege of music and the simplicity of the message. Specially LZ 😊 i wish add more time to go into All your repertoir. Cheers🍀🎶🎶
Kudos to the great recycler. E A B or G A D after a while it is a little like watching a coin operated washing machine. Re do them all, I love seeing your different versions. My dad had 6 records of the sane opera perfomance, they are all different and unique. Keep on truckin
Great lesson! Haven't thought much of this song lately, but man, I used to play the hell out it. I had a 68 Princeton reverb that was just a perfect fit for this, I don't know what rig Jimmy used to record this song, but wouldn't be surprised if it was a Princeton reverb.
Don't let these critical guys get into your head. You're one of the best straight ahead instructors on the internet. I've played for 50 years and appreciate the best way to learn the song is to play along with it until it just blends.....To the guy who said he was getting "ripped off" (of what); the tip to just focus on a single rhythm lick for minutes until it's right was worth the price of admission to you.
I’m an old guy and I just retired, bought myself a Gibson and an amp, James without your videos I would have no clue what to do. Your perfection on the way jimmy did it is an important part of the detail for me. You rock dude. Thank you for doing these videos. Lots of people do these and yours are the best to me. Respect !!
Love the video and thank you for the lesson on one of my favorite Zeppelin songs (the other being Hey Hey What Can I Do). I wanted to ask what the finish is on your Les Paul?
I love the videos on PT, but I definitely love the comments/question section as well. Either way, I don't moan and groan. I understand why the comments are disabled. Appreciate everything you do for us.
Hey James, great lesson as always. Love that tokai les Paul it’s almost identical to the famous Jimmy Page les Paul. Wondering if you give a run down or the guitar and the signal chain to attain the zeppelin tone.
wow. i don't comment much/at all just because I don't speak social media and it's generally not a good mix for me. but I do appreciate the work you've done here and on the old channel. especially if I am wanting to know some of the more artist or song-specific nuances that I can't tease out on my own the old fashioned way. I've found also that content like this is just nice over morning coffee. but man, I'm sorry if you get some messed up comments. I would have donated an organ for access to something like this when I was 15. I feel like there should be no shortage of little guitar virtuosos running around with access to youtube videos and the ability to slow down live video of our guitar heros....yet , despite all the access to learning that a kid in the 90s or earlier never had, and all these amazing ways to access tones nowadays... there seems to be this ....i dunno...disconnect maybe is the word for it? everyone asking "how do you get this sound man??" you still gotta practice. like an inordinate ammount of practice. like, practicing guitar so much your family is a little worried about you. that's just about the right ammount. maybe even a little more. anyway. thank you.
I got to commend you, you have the patience to teach. I did at a music store in 79 but it was a headache you know that imean, so keep up the great work.
Don't know if you have seen the video but there is a Jimmy Page Robert Plant When The Levee Breaks video with no slide but is really good. It has a lot of instruments but if you could play it that would rock!
Keep your head up James. Among the 20+ (male) RU-vid guitar teachers you are up there in the top 3 (as if anyone cares about my opinion)! 🤣 So if you’ve remastered a former Zeppelin tutorial with better lighting and a subtly different explanation - good on you. Appreciative viewers outnumber those who are not I’m sure.
The gender reference BTW is that there are some exceptionally good female guitarists showing that they can strut their stuff, but few teach that I know of other than Mary Spender and Helen Ibe.
