The woman singing at the start is from Metal Gear Solid on the PS1, the reason is because the song Shadow Moses is also the name of the island from the game Metal Gear Solid
And the lyrics "Can you tell from the look in her eyes, we're going no where" refers Meryl and Solid Snake trapped in isolated Shadow Moses island and "we live alone til we're ready to die" refers to FoxDie implanted in them and will kill them when the time runs out.
There are many ways to look at this song. Metal Gear Solid: The soldiers are fighting a never ending war and living their lives like they're ready to die Biblical: Moses and his people are traveling through the desert looking for the promised land but couldn't seem to find it, they seemed to be going nowhere Literal: your mind is wired incorrectly (Avalanche) and it's time to accept the darkness, this state of mind is sempiternal That's why I love this band, they're purposely trying to hide the truth in plain sight; they wouldn't just call the song "Dead Inside"...that's where Crooked Young comes in
The difference with moses is thier people did find the promise land. He lead them to the door but he himself couldn't cross, his son Joshua was the only that had to lead them threw the door way.
For me sempiternal was my favourite album, it helped me through some serious anxiety/depression throughout school. Waking up was hard, but when I'd throw in my headphones and blast this album, specifically this song I felt like someone understood my pain.
Oliver is a genius. He starts the intro with this melody from MGS Intro, which the lyrics deeply means about appreciating live and it's flaws. Then the song starts.
Rough translation of the intro (The best is yet to come - Metal Gear Solid OST) Do you still remember love? Do you remember how it touched your heart? Do you remember how it broke your heart? I will always be loving, even to a fault. Life is full of love if you allow it. Accept it and love will be.
Metal Gear Solid's "The Best is yet yo Come" is the intro from, also, the name of the song is taken from The Shadow Moses Island, the place where MGS takes place
@@mmartinz7856 they meant they want an extended version of Hospital for Souls. Just like this is an extended version of Shadow Moses. And it is fanmade, the channels entire premise is fanmade bmth content. Hence the name.
@@mmartinz7856 no it's not. It's actually been made after the royal Albert hall live version where they had a choir. That is when they did their own acapella version. Then somebody mixed this into an extended version.
Didn't know this version existed. It has a different vibe with that intro at the very beginning. I'd love to relive this song when it came out in early 2013, damn... time flies.
Can you tell from the look in her eyes? We're going no where We live our lives like we're ready to die We're going no where Can you tell from the look in her eyes? We're going no where We live our lives like we're ready to die We're going no where I thought I'd buried you And covered the tracks You'll have to take this with your cold dead hands I thought I'd buried you We're sinking, never die I thought I cut you loose Severed the feeling I stepped through the crack as you clamp to my shirt I thought I'd buried you We're sinking, never die Can you tell from the look in her eyes We're going no where We live our life like we're ready to die We're going no where. You can run but you'll never escape Over and over again Will we ever see the end? We're going no where This is sempiternal Will we ever see the end? This is sempiternal Over and over, again and again Rise from the dead you child Secrets don't deplete till they come to the ground Signal the sirens, rally the troops Ladies and gentlemen Its the moment of truth Can you tell from the look in her eyes? We're going no where We live our lives like we're ready to die We're going no where You can run but never escape Over and over again Will we ever see the end? We're going no where Can you tell from the look in her eyes? We're going no where We live our lives like we're ready to die We're going no where You can run but never escape Over and over again Will we ever see the end? We're going no where This is sempiternal Will we ever see the end? This is sempiternal Over and over, again and again
Also it's not "rise from the dead you child, secrets don't deplete till they come to the ground" that doesn't even sound anything like what he's saying It's "rise from the dead you say, secrets don't sleep till they're dumped in the grave"
It's irish/gaelic taken from a song in Metal Gear Solid Game, called "The Best is yet to come"", the original is much longer too but these are the lyrics you hear in this version Gaeilge: An cuimhin leat an grá Crá croí an ghrá Níl anois ach ceol na h-oíche Táim sioraí i ngrá Leannáin le smál Leannáin le smál Lig leis agus beidh leat Lig leis agus beidh grá English: Do you remember love The heartbreak of love? Nothing now but music of the night. I am forever in love. A lover with a fault. A lover with a fault. Allow it and you will have it. Allow it and love will be.
I have this translation: Do you remember love Love from a tormented heart Not fleeting, as with music at night But an eternal love Now tainted Now tainted Go now and reclaim it Go now and love
this shit is so rad ! cant wait for this collection , im a die-hard fan of extended versions of songs mainly BMTH songs , for god´s sake thank you so much!
The beginning is amazing, but what can you say from the ending? It makes you feel that you opened your eyes after all that suffer or pain that the song tryed to leave out. I don't know how to explain it, but the ending its just magical.
Especially I like the vocals at the beginning, it's often that games or movies with a sad background and a well advanced stand of technology chose Latin choir Musik, remember elfen_lied lilium or mgs
An cuimhin leat an grá Crá croí an ghrá Níl anois ach ceol na h-oíche Táim sioraí i ngrá Leannáin le smál Leannáin le smál Lig leis agus beidh leat Lig leis agus beidh grá Cuimhne leat an t-am Nuair a bhí tú sásta An cuimhne leat an t-am Nuair a bhí tú ag gáire Tá an saol iontach Má chreideann tú ann Tug aghaidi ar an saol is sonas sioraí inár measc Céard a tharla do na laethanta sin Céard a tharla do na h-oícheanta sin An cuimhin leat an t-am Nuair a bhí tú faoi bhrón An cuimhin leat an t-am Go sioraí sileadh na ndeor an ormsa nó orainne a bhí an locht Ag mothú cailte s'ar fán Cén fáth an t-achrann is sileadh na ndeor Tá áilleacht sa saol Má chuardaíonn tú e Tá gliondar sa saol Creideann sé
My God... One of the greatest video games ever created by mankind... Damn you Konami for fucking over Hideo like you did during MGS5's production. MGS1, MGS4, Snatcher, MK2, and MK9 are the greatest video games ever created. Three of which all by Hideo himself.
It's so perfect. Masterpiece, best of art, I love to listen that intro and look in the sky at night, while imaginating how te rest of world around us look like...
RIZARO OKKANO What you're talking about ?? this isn't fanmade bro. Is the original versión but extended. BMTH did it and they use that beautiful intro in their shows
been listening to these guys since medusa came out. sempiternal is my favorite album, though, AND it's the reason im getting a flower of life tattoo lmao
Can you tell from the look in our eyes? (we're going nowhere) We live our lives like we're ready to die (we're going nowhere) I thought I buried you and covered the tracks You'll have to take this with your cold dead hands I thought I buried you What's dead can never die I thought I'd cut you loose, severed the feeling I slipped through the cracks and you caved in my ceiling I thought I buried you What's dead can never die (Fuck!) Can you tell from the look in our eyes? (we're going nowhere) We live our lives like we're ready to die (we're going nowhere) You can run but you'll never escape (over and over again) Will we ever see the end? (we're going nowhere) This is sempiternal Will we ever see the end? This is sempiternal Over and over, again and again. Rise from the dead you say? Secrets don't sleep 'til they're took to the grave Signal the sirens, rally the troops Ladies and gentlemen, It's the moment of truth [2x] Can you tell from the look in our eyes? (we're going nowhere) We live our lives like we're ready to die (we're going nowhere) You can run but you'll never escape (over and over again) Will we ever see the end? (we're going nowhere) This is sempiternal Will we ever see the end? This is sempiternal Over and over, again and again.
If there is any WWE fan reading this... I don´t know why but every time I listen to this version of the song I can´t stop thinking about how cool would it be if Finn Balor use this for an epic entrance at Wrestlemania, including the long intro and then at 2:39 emerging as the demon, it fits perfectly.
I am making a RPG universe, and this song inspired me the "Shadow moses" NPCs four brother that appears when the darkness has overtaken the universe. they are the last hope of living being to bring back the light. One using a bow, one using a scepter, one using a sword, one using a shield, and they all got tremendous Light magic. they have to go to the center of the universe in order to perform their ultimate sacrificial ritual to call out the god. "shadow moses" because as moses to his people, they find the way through the darkness to bring back the light ya it sounds better in my head
I may the only one who is really this late to know about this. I was thinking the reason behind the song title"Shadow Moses" and now I know. God damn it. But that intro gave me the MGS1 vibes.
Its sounds like Metal Gear Solid first music in intro when snake swiming underwater. I see Myself kid who played it on PsX and I listening this version. It makes me so emotional. Fckkkkkkkk! Epic!
