i mean, their really heavy songs were form 2004, they began to soften up in like 2009. olds mentioned that their tastes have changed, and that theyre experimenting with new sounds. they'll return to their heavier stuff, but they'll keep some softer stuff as well.
Plume sounds more like Doomed to me. The intro of the song and also the lyrics The walls are a funeral, I run with ghosts = My life is a funeral so lets make a toast Im pretty sure they developed it and it turned into Doom in the end
Listening to this 6 years later is such a trip man, i’ve loved them for so long and to hear the difference in their music now has been a journey but i’ve loved all of it
Heavy version of Blasphemy sounds sick, wish they'd release the full version, or reuse it at least. Those riffs are awesome, hope to see more of that type of rock from them.
what kind of music would you call the Happy song and Oh no (plume) demos? I've tried looking up trip hop, down tempo, indie electronica, and synthwave, but it's not quite exactly it.

If you're talking about the skull image with the party hat I'm 99% sure he posted that teasing Oh No as the next single off the album. The clip of Plume he posted on instagram is apparently just a demo from when they were writing material for That's The Spirit, but I hope it gets released in full. Maybe if enough people keep bugging him for it he'll put it online haha
There's a full version of happy song somewhere, it was actually released before drown. The other two have yet to surface. Since they've been discovered I'm sure the full versions will leak eventually. They are getting a lot of feedback for plume, so maybe it will eventually be released. If so I hope there's not too many changes made, because it sounds so much like a combination of the instrumentals from oh no and the vocals from doomed and I love it.
Garrett G I'm hoping that they just put up a bunch of demos online in full. Or doing something like linkin park does with releasing an album of demos every year for LPU would be pretty cool. And yeah there's definitely something in Plume that reminds me of that one guitar melody in Oh No
wut? The Happy Song demo was first put online along with the release of the Drop Dead Crazy Life collection. Clearly it's not a fan made track if it came out nearly a year before Happy Song was released and is sang by Oli at a different key and tempo than the album version.
No, it's just a demo. They recycled the chord progression for the bridge to Oh No and didn't use most of the other parts of the demo in the finished song
