Ollie & the rest of BMTH are truly the best. The way they interact with BabyMetal is simply amazing. Early on, I felt BMTH had this “big brothers” relationship with the girls. That has grown to friends and fellow artists. We need another BMTH & BabyMetal collab. This time as a BabyMetal song.

I got a little emotional when I saw this performance the other day. This is what the fans have wanted for years! Years ago BMTH befriended the girls at a music event. Ollie even surprised the girls by wearing a BABYMETAL shirt. Then years later BABYMETAL had them open for them in Japan, so when Kingslayer was released, it was a big deal. Now seeing both groups on stage is just amazing and mind blowing.🤘🦊🤘
Great reaction. BMTH recorded the original 3 years ago with BABYMETAL sending their contributions across to them in the UK from Japan. That was during lockdown of course. BMTH have been playing this live since 2020, but with BABYMETAL on backing track ... these Nex Fest events in Japan are the first time since the song was recorded that they have had the chance to perform the song together ... and of course it was special.🤘🦊🤘

Great reaction! I'm glad you enjoyed this and I'm very happy for everyone who has been waiting to see this happen. And of course, the girls absolutely crushed their part! I personally don't like this one, though. I just don't think it fits what what BABYMETAL represents. I don't object to the lyrics in general, but, it just feels wrong for BABYMETAL who are trying to reach a young audience with a positive message. Especially when it's completely unnecessary for the song. Even their collaboration with Lil Uzi Vert remained clean (it was the only track on his album that was not given an explicit label). Still, though I know I am in an extremely small minority with that opinion, so I am still happy that others are able to get so much joy from this and that it's helping them reach more people. Hopefully if they collaborate in the future on a BABYMETAL song, they will keep it clean since it would be a BABYMETAL song and not BMTH.

@@kitkat6407 You could hear her voice crack near the start in this video. I've only ever heard it happen twice before. The first was their first show back from hiatus in January. The other I just assume was more from overuse because of their tour in the U.S. when I saw them in Boston in September. First time performing this live, with the choreography included, and a decent part is in English with some difficult words/combinations in there for a non-native speaker. I don't blame her for being a bit nervous at the start. She killed it after that, though. I'm very happy to hear the second performance was even better than this.
@@mr.osclasses5054 She had been away from live performances for about two years and had been slow to pick up since she started in January of this year, but she has improved with each concert. On the last day of her North American tour, I felt that she had finally regained her full potential. In the end, Su shines by continuing to sing on stage, I guess🤘🦊✨
@@kitkat6407 I was simply agreeing that she seemed nervous here and she admitted earlier this year that she was very nervous getting back on stage after so long of not being there. As I said, in Boston I 100% think it was overuse of her voice for the first few weeks of the tour because they had only had one, maybe two nights off before that show. Performing takes a toll before it comes back like you said it had by the end of the N.A. tour.
In my opinion, their performance in Nagoya which is the Day 2 of the NEX Fest is better than the KOBE performance. Since in Kobe, it was their first ever live performance with BMTH and Su's Vocals were a bit shaky, but it was due to the heavy dancing beforehand. In Nagoya however, Su's vocal is much more stable and clear. Nonetheless, one of the best collaborations in recent Babymetal performances. 🤘🦊🤘

BMTH and Babymetal have a close relationship going back years ago when both bands performed together at a festival and Ollie noticed the girls (who at the time spoke very limited English) seemed nervous at a male dominated Metal Event and the guys took them under their wing. Ollie wore a Babymetal t-shirt on stage at that night's performance. The next year BMTH opened for Babymetal all over Japan. The Kingslayer song collaboration came out 3 years ago and this was the first time the two performed it LIVE onstage. This particular fan cam was the worst for sound quality I have seen and did not show the audience and full stage. Search for a better one as they are definitely out there. (Watch out for a fake LIVE one that says LIVE but is just spliced footage from a different Babymetal song that came out years ago because only fan cams are available as of yet) Also check out the original lyric video of Kingslayer
I highly recommend watching Babymetal's original music videos too and not just the lives because there is a lot of theatrics and storytelling in them as well, not just their stage shows. One of my favorites is BxMxC (BMC) because it's like some sort of epic tournament and the song is one of their heavier ones.
There are a lot of fan cams with different angles, distances and sound quality. Crappy as some of the videos are, it is still clear that it is an epic performance. And Babymetal dancing to "Wake the f___ up". They are not young girls anymore.
the word "fuck" really doesn't translate to japanese. being "not young girls anymore" really has nothing to do with it. they'd have been comfortable with this song at 12.
@@sirmoonslosthismind They know exactly what they are doing. Amuse management never would have allowed this when they were still minors. It is part of a deliberate effort to show they are adults now. They would never use such words themselves but they are not going faint when they hear them.
The first joint performance of 2 giants that ALL of us have been waiting for for 3 years! And boy, do they fit well together on stage. 🔥I mean, nothing against the live concept of Babymetal, but the girls with their singing/choreo surrounded by musicians who actively participate in the song?
