This was madness and fans couldn't be more happy about it after so many years waiting for this we got the best collab on stage at last. You gotta love MoaMetal and the girls headbanging real hard at the end, but my only complain here is they didn't show SuMetal thanking BMTH back at the end, it's ok thou, there's plenty of fancams around showing that and some different interactions between Oli and the girls at the end if you wanna look for it. The first time they performed this was a few days ago from this live at Kobe, later it was at Nagoya (MoaMetal's hometown) and here at Makuhari Messe, Chiba, not exactly Tokyo but it's close. Btw that drum & bass intro is called "Itch For The Cure" (it's a tribute to Cure For The Itch by Linkin Park), although if you remember that dialogue wasn't part of the album track, it's another tribute to Metal Gear Solid videogame by Hideo Kojima. Welcome back and great reaction. BMTH and BABYMETAL have been good friends for several years since they first met in the UK and have often spoken about wanting to collaborate. In 2019 BABYMETAL invited BMTH to tour with them in Japan and BMTH opened at 4 of BABYMETAL's big arena shows at the end of the year and Oli Sykes from BMTH said that from then BMTH have blown up a bit and become even more popular in Japan than they were. This song was recorded in 2020, BABYMETAL originally sent their contributions entirely in English, but Oli Sykes asked them to include some Japanese, which of course they did. I think he also said that with BABYMETAL's vocals on the track it encouraged him to go even harder with his own. It took them 3 years to finally get the chance to perform it live together and that happened 4 times at each of the four NEX_FEST events in Japan that BMTH organised. BABYMETAL had already played their own set and came back out to join BMTH on stage towards the end of their set for this song and you could see how just how much they were all enjoying performing together.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。They performed REAL (BMTH+BM on stage together) "Kingslayer" 4 times in Japan. I witnessed the 2nd REAL one in Nagoya on Nov.1. That was mesmerizing 😍 and I forgot to breathe during the performance. In an interview Momometal made an interesting comment like : (1) The theme of this choreo is "collision of souls" that has an image like we throw the power multiplied by the two bands at the audience. (2) We danced with our fullest power and rigid determination thinking "We do not care no matter what happens to us after the performance" I saw the girls literally do it. (BABYMETAL did this song after their own one-hour show in the festival curated by BMTH.) The one thing worried me was the statement at the end of this song in the final show in Tokyo on Nov.4. After joyful hugs with the girls, Oli said "We are never gonna play Kingslayer without them, ever again. Just not right." I know BABYMETAL and BMTH are going to appear in the same festivals this year in USA and Europe. I look forward to seeing them preform Kingslayer together again on those occasions. But BMTH should continue to perform this amazing and popular song even in a virtual mode without BM being actually there. (using recorded part of BM instead) (ps. I found BMTH played the "virtual" Kingslayer in the concert in Bangkok, Thai on Nov. 7 after Japan. And in 2024 BMTH started to use 3 CG figures resembling the girls on the backdrop. That's good 👍)
