Heyy Brian you don't have to care what people think ,you are protecting your property,I think that's awesome, looks like a caterpillar thanks for sharing 😊
I've owned two of these since 2017. Install looked great, with the exception of one thing. For trucks and large SUVs, the cover needs to be tucked in under the front tires (where the tire meets the concrete). If it doesn't, and you get strong enough winds, then the wind could easily lift it off and carry it away. It almost looks like you needed to go a size up due to the addition in the bed of your truck? Just a suggestion since I know how valuable they are. ;)
Brings to mind the Ron White bit about "...it's not how the wind is blowing...it's What the wind is blowing". 🤔 Looks like a cool concept 👍. My '18 F150 SuperCrew sits outside 24/7, because it's about 3" too long to fit in the garage.
Thanks for the video as a fellow North Texan this will likely be the first thing I buy when I buy my truck and have wondered how well they hold up in our winds more than the hail as they clearly can handle hail.
Nice, TX gets some crazy ass hail, I almost bought a Yukon from a College Station dealer that had bad hail damage, was super cheap. Ended up buying a different Yukon though, when I lived in Madisonville we had a big pole barn out back so I’d always rush to park the Yukon under that when the weather was bad. I bet you can’t wait to you go rural and have a giant garage 😎
I worked in auto insurance claims for about 10 years and you are really smart to get something like that. I've seen what hail does to vehicles and its nuts! They look like someone took a baseball bat to them and beat monster dents into them, and baseball sized holes right through the windows. We'd get pictures from the homeowner's claims offices showing the hail damage to homes and it was scary what it does to roofs, siding and windows. Screw the neighbors, let their cars get trashed if they don't care what happens to them.
I don’t blame you. Having dents or broken glass sucks. I saw just a week or two ago there were thousands of solar panels destroyed in Damon Texas due to hail.
Yep.....we had quarter sized hail here in West Texas about an hour west of abilene yesterday. Around northeast of Hamlin (Haskell I think) there were reports of tennis ball sized hail.
When North Texas gets hail storms so does Southern Oklahoma and we had trees down at the city of Gainesville tx today I work for the city of Gainesville
I agree it looks like a caterpillar, but it's a good item to have. Your neighbors may think you're a little crazy, but I bet they check you out on RU-vid.
I installed a nice looking metal A frame carport for my truck. It was surprisingly affordable at only $2200. I think the amount of time it takes to install something like this is such a hassle, including drying it out afterwards. I mean, sure it works in a pinch...You don't have space for a car port or maybe a lean-too next to your house? Then the truck is also out of the sun / UV rays as well when not being used.
I remember when I was a teenager and my dad yelling at me during a storm to hurry and pull my mother's car out of the garage and pull my old beater in. When I asked him why, he said you don't have full insurance coverage and we do. Hail really messes a car up in a hurry.
That is so cool. We have a 2019 RAM Power Wagon that doesn't fit in any of the garages. This is a must! What size did you get? Thanks and great video!😊
So many in my area use their garage for junk and not for new vehicles they purchase. Such idiots. Would rather rent a storage unit less than a mile away for junk storage (or buy a small back yard shed from Home Depot) and use garage for vehciles. Why buy a new car if it has to sit outside in the hail, sun, rain, sleet, etc.? The hassle to repair or replace a hail damaged vehicle is such a pain.
