Aspen is back in her enclosure! She got put back on September 2nd And has been really happy with it! I apologize I repeat a lot of the same words in the video 😂 for some reason when I film I have this habit of once I say one word or sentence I tend to keep reusing it. I’m also sorry there wasn’t a Wednesday video! I’m currently trying to figure out my life so I’ve been thinking about many things!
@@cuddleshobbies6642 its not that deep bruh, she/he called the hamster a it because she didnt kniw the gender. Calling a hamster the wrong gender wont offend it.
My mom thought my hamster was eating his bedding😂 i told her he was making a nest and then she said “oH wElL tHen *HE* iS mAkInG BaByS” and i was dead laughing 😭😂
I got a hamster except my family was stressing it out way to much. i was screaming at them to stop. And they stopped . its still alive but now its VERY scared of me. im worried about my hamster. does anyone have any suggestions
King Max I had the same problem I gave my hamster lots of time and once she had started getting a little bit better without any interaction for about two weeks I got her to the bath tub and I sat down and waited till she came to me ! I did this for a while and she eventually found out that I wasn’t going to hurt her😁 I recommend giving ur hammy lots of time and just keep trying 😁 be patient with ur 🐹 hammy
Hey I got a Syrian hamster today! She is absolutely adorable and so far she has had her ears up the whole time, cleaning herself, standing up on her back legs showing all the signs of being content. I even gave her a little teeny piece of carrot and she just ate it from my hand. I think I have a very confident little baby already ❤️😍
Gilbert Valdez I already knew all of this but I’m just getting ideas and stuff to beg my mom to get me this hamster who is being abused at pet smart because they had NO food there waterbottle looked gross and horrible and it’s eye was like glued shut and I went off on the pet smart people I cried the whole way home because my hamster recently passed and it made me really upset seeing that poor hamster and I really want her so I’m going to try my best to get her
@@Halinawithani Your parents probably will not allow you to get a sick hamster :// exotic vets are expensive. If you want a hamster I suggest choosing a healthy one, since the stress of moving plus being sickly may just speed up the death of the sick hamster. It's sad but true. I would also suggest taking pictures of any inhumane conditions and then report the store to animal rescues such as RSPCA, etc. If you see the same hamster again in that store & they don't seem too bad you could perhaps take a picture and post about it on social media to find someone in your area to try and rescue the hamster. Just remember that every hamster that leaves a pet shop is just opening up a slot for a new one to come in :(
Helena Strickland DONT SHOP AT PETSMART!!!!! I know it’s really sad to see a sick animal in a small tank but, when you take that hamster another one is going to come and take its place (not a good thing), instead adopt its a lot more humane
Gilbert Valdez - Literally same. I had two Russian dwarf hamsters when I was five or younger and I took care of them so HORRIBLY 😭😭 but now I’m getting a Syrian hamster soon & hopefully I’m more prepared now!
Me: ok I know enough about hamsters so I know I can get one! My parents: Okay let's go! My parents again: Ohhhh look at that cage Me:mom that's a tiny cage with little floor space and its only is tall. I dont get why parents are like that these days!
@@ilikeminecraftgaming9331 so cute name😍 my hamster is Named luna. She is living in a super small cage, my mom wont let me change it. She litterly buys the worst and the most dangourus brands of hamster stuff, cuz they are cheap. Idk what to do, she wont listen
So basically I really want a dwarf hamster I had one before but unfortunately it passed away. Whenever I ask my mum she says no so I asked my older sister and she said next time I see you I’ll give you 10 questions and if you get 8 out of 10 correct I’ll get you a dwarf hamster for Christmas x
Olivia _xx yup 😃 i ended up getting a Syrian and called her Betty she’s super cute it took a couple of days to get to know her but now she’s really confident . My mum didn’t have a clue I was getting one but she doesn’t mind her now only if I clean I cage out every week it’s fine so phew 😅xx
I adopted a hamster from a shelter and he's only a few months old so all he's really known is being moved around to different foster homes and such so he was wayyyy more calm and unbothered than the hamsters that I have gotten from pet stores. He didn't care in the slightest when I would accidentally clang his bars or if my hand was in his bin, he would just carry on as normal. what an unbothered king 😂
I now feel a real sense of guilt for a hamster I owned when I was a kid. We are talking 30 years ago. We had the worst cage for her and she chronically chewed on her bars. I always thought she was doing it to file her teeth down…now it’s most likely from stress of being in such an awful cage. Ugh…that’s a hard feeling to take on. I’m so sorry Hammy, you deserved better.
It was 30 years ago! Yes it wasn’t ideal, but hamster care was completely different back then. Of course, Your aloud to feel guilty, but it wasn’t your fault!
Hey props on you for recognising it tho, and it really wasn't your fault. Pet care overall was WIDELY different 30 years ago, specially when it comes to exotic pets. Pretty sure Hammy is looking down at the current pet care situation happy from Hamster Heaven :D
My parents thought i was crazy 4 years ago when i did a bunch of research and wanted a big cage, because i had 2 when i was like 5-8 and they only had a wire cage.. they dont understand it but my future ones will never be in a small space
They only hiss/squeal when scared to frighten predators. Mine did on the first day but afterwards when they had settled in but afterwards I never heard them scream again :)
Your the best I’ve learned so much my hamster is so happy he is a long haired Syrian hamster 🐹 and he has a 10 inch wheel 7 inches of bedding and he lives in a bin cage with 560 sq in he is so happy thank you 🙏😁👍🐹🐹🐹
When I brought my hammy home in her little pet store box she actually fell asleep and she was so adorable but my heart dropped thinking she somehow died in the 15 minutes it took to get home 😅
"some hamsters will wait until you've turned off the light and have gone to bed to literally come out" Me at 2am with my hamster: this is so you. Totally you. My hamster grooming herself: 👁️👄👁️
That is sooooooo cute! I'm getting a hamster this summer and have probably watched over 200 YT videos, and I really hope that my hamster will love me as much as yours loves you!
I wish I saw this before I got mine I hadn’t set my cage up and now I feel so bad but you’ve just gotta learn from your mistakes ! Your channel has been so helpful to me throughout the time I’ve had my hamster!!
I just bought a hamster this morning he is a long haired Syrian I have him living in a 200 qt / 630 square inch bin since I have planning on getting a dwarf I have an 8 inch wheel so I do need a bigger wheel I’m really looking forward to owning a hamster!
Omg thank you so much literally yesterday I looked up “what to do when bringing a hamster home”🤣 I want a hamster so bad but my parents don’t want the smell in their house. Do hamsters have a bad smell?
I just got a Syrian hamster today and a whole setup for him. He's so cool, he is showing all signs of being content, he's taken some broccoli from my hand, let me pet him abit, he's very curious and standing up, going through his tunnel lol. Great video! I see it was 3 years ago, but I figured I would still comment.
I did so many things wrong with my first (and current!) hamster,Pudding,a dwarf, yet he is still so so sweet!Hamsters are great pets! It’s how YOU treat them!🙂
The first time I saw my hamster empty it’s cheek pouches I thought she was barfing and my brother thought the same thing and we had to google if they puked because we where terrified. Then I found out that they had cheek pouches and had to tell my best friend who has the biological sister of my hamster. And know it’s cute to see my hamster empty her pouches 😂
My dwarf hammy escaped the fiirst day I got him he just jumped out the door and of the table was chasing him around with a treat and box for 10 minutes.... Then he climbed up my leg :/ managed to get him into the box after that
My hamster warmed up to me pretty quick and I remember I had her I’m my hand and she groomed herself and I was petrified and had no clue what was going on 😂😂
I’m getting a hamster today! I always watch your videos to make sure I do things right and give it the best life I can, I’ve been watching your videos for about 2 months and I’ve learn so much from you :)
When I am bringing a new hamster home I added two bedding 1) little from the new home and 2) from the old home. Bedding from the new home is cover with my scent
Mines Maximillian, or Max for short Edit: Um, so well, my hamster died. I got a new one and her name is Honey and she is doing much better. RIP Maximillian Bearnard Baxter. But, hello Honey Willow Baxter.
thank you victoria for telling me to not worry. i could barely sleep because i was WAYYY too worried that my hamster, nugget, would be unsatisfied or angry when she was literally running on her wheel all night and burrowing. she is my very first pet so i’m trying to calm down.
I so agree and appreciate what you are saying. I read up about hamsters when my daughter wanted one for her birthday. There was an interesting study with results that show that hamsters with inadequate housing with minimal bedding and only a wheel...are “depressed” compared to hamsters with stimulating and interesting, appropriate sized housing- who continued to show a willingness to try new things. I try to do seasonal enhancements, as a little pumpkin in the fall, a cardboard box full of tissues, a new natural item...just try to keep it interesting.
I brought my hamster home yesterday. When we were bringing her to the car and I was holding the cage I didn’t see it but my finger was by one of the holes that is used for themy to breathe through the cage and she nipped me. Haha, she was scared but now she is settling in awesome. I spent all quarentine watching your videos to learn about them and now (October) I am allowed to get one. You probably wont see this buttttt thank you!
Hi Victoria, I have been commenting every day to tell you about my animals. I said to my father, "can I have a robo dwarf hamster in a cage as big as the bonnet of your car and with bedding as deep as the length of my long 2 foot hair?" and all he said was, "Well you do have three Guinea pigs soon to be six, a giant rabbit, a dog and a chicken so maybe?" I went in the house and in my head I was like *I'm going to get a hamster* I told him that they aren't *QUITE* as much work as my rabbit and herd of guinea pigs, and it could live in my bedroom. He just replied again with, "Maybe, I mean I'm unsure."🐹💕😋
Me: puts 6 inches of bedding in my hamsters cage My hamster: *burrows inside the bedding* My mom: OH MY GOD I THINK ITS SUFFOCATING IN THERE TAKE ALL THE BEDDING OUT NOW Me: 🤨
Yes I have been waiting for a video like this thank you so much ☺️I’m getting a hamster for Christmas with my money so I have been researching ! I wanted to know if the detolf is really worth it is it good could you please do a video doing pros and cons of the detolf ? ❤️❤️💖💖
I think a plastic carrier would be a great idea! You can reuse it and If you have to take it room to room, and they’re jumpy, it’s good to be safe and make sure they can’t fall out of your hands from that height.
I've been on and off with your channel for the past couple years, but something just brings me straight back here. Thank you so much for providing these videos and helping out us newbies, or even providing tips for experts. I'm glad that this community has such a variety of people in it. I hope you continue to post videos and help out thousands! :)
Well... depends on when and where you got them. If you got them from a pet store then it was probaly a disease or something medical related as pet store hamsters are very young. If you got them from a rescue sort of situation then that could be why, because you often don’t know how old they are, and they might have been very old when you got them. It could be something else, but this is what I can think of of the top of my head. (:
My hamster Gus went over night, he was acting fine and then he got ill and passed over night. We took him to the vet the night before and they just said he would get over it but gave him medication anyway, it isn't your fault. Hamsters can pick up diseases very easily, if you get them from pet stores or adoption places they might beside already. Little Gus was sick when we got him but we didn't know.
Yesterday I got my hamster and it was really happy and doing all the normal things, even drinking in front of me. But I think I messed up because now it’s petrified of me and I don’t know what to do. Do I leave him for longer, like 5 days ?
I have a simple question, since I’m curious! What kind of water should we give our hamsters? For example, bottled water or tap water? Thank you in advance if you answer!!
We're getting a new baby in a week or two after our beloved Teddy Yari died last month. I'm still grieving and seeing her but I just can't help but feel so lonely here and I just love hamsters, I want a baby to take care of! I want a small cute pet to come home to and to get excited for. Before that, I made sure to convince my mother of finally buying a proper cage. Our first one was too small and I knew it but my parents just said no when I said we should buy a bigger one and back then I had less rights and voice than now, as I am soon 19 and well back then I was 16. I said to my mom I'd only agree to get a hamster if we get a proper cage. I found an affordable one in the internet that has 7200 sq cm (1116 square in) - 120 length x 60 cm width. Sadly, when we just got Yari we had to touch her because right after one day she got sick and we had to bring her to the vet. I feared for her life but she recovered luckily and after 2 weeks we could finally bring her home again. I remember I was so anxious and when I was in the city with a friend I got the call that we can get her now and I legit started crying because I was so relieved. I love Yari so much, forever! She turned out just fine despite being so sick right when she was so young. She was very sleepy in the first half year after her recovery but then she began to become the most energetic hammie I have ever seen. And she lived to be soon 3 years which I'm really proud of. She's a treasure. Wow
