Another of my Wall-E tribute shorts. This one is a bit of a mash-up of two different cinema universes. See my newest mash-up, the award-winning "Wall-E's Old Man" • Wall-E's Old Man
I particularly liked the writing! there was some minor details (like the door getting being unable to open because baby ATAT was there, or recovering a new rubic's cube) that were adorable!
Just one thing on the animation...the AT-AT walk cycle was based on the elephant--normal pace, only one leg moves at a time, and at a running pace, opposite-corner legs move at the same time, so it always keeps balance. You had both legs on the same side moving at once, which would make it tip over sideways.
You are correct, but I made a conscious decision to use the walk-cycle this way. If you watch the way AT-ATs move in, for example "Empire Strikes Back," they are so ponderous and slow that the films rarely depict more than one leg moving at a time. I needed a much faster speed for this short film. I tried to do the elephant-style walk but frankly I didn't like the look.
@@filmjeff *nod* Actually, this fact was brought up in one of the 'Making Of' features..'From Star Wars to Jedi', I think?..about how they came up with the movie AT-AT's walking.
I really like your Wall-E model! Very true to the original. Your texturing work and environmental procedures are very well done. Your walk cycle on the baby land Walker could use some tweaking though. Those things walk like elephants.
My first attempt at animating a walk cycle. If you look at the way the Imperial walkers were depicted in "Empire Strikes Back," they're never seen taking more than a step or two, which would have been a poor choice for this film
Cool I wish you could make more WALL•E videos please that would be totally awesome I mean he's the cutest and most advanced robot in the world that would be perfecto don't you think?

Check out what SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Mr. Krabs and more of Bikini Bottom's sea creatures have been up to lately in this 3-hour compilation!
It's a fan film, a tribute to a beloved character. Why would they want to come down on their fans? I don't make any money on this, in fact it costs me to make these videos
Not to mention that AT-ATs aren't living creatures and Wall-E was never part of the Star Wars universe. I'm not trying to rewrite the canon, just having fun with a mash-up.
