I have both and the WSM is leaps and bounds ahead of the brinkman

Thank you for watching, I agree there is a huge difference in the quality between a wsm and the brinkman but you can still cook on a brinkman - just needs a little more attention

Hey Louis I forgot about those little Brinkman's! I had one years ago that came apart like the WSM and it worked well as a smoker and a grill. I used it mostly for grilling. Cool comparison so far. I;ll be back for part 2. Take care out there!!

Thank you for watching. My 1st charcoal cooker was one of the Brinkman “gourmet” smoker. After doing this cook - think I will try and hunt one of the gourmet smokers down

Your WSM is newer than mine. I see the newer legs, drip pan, probe grommets and dome thermo. A lot of my new parts are on the way.

Thank you for watching. This one made its way from the bayous of Louisiana and the guy bought a Yoder pellet smoker and wasn’t going to use it anymore - picked it up for $60.00- think I did ok

Great review Louis. I didn’t realize Brinkmann made a little smoker like that. I really like the snake method for these longer cooks. It holds temp well and I never have to add charcoal. Nice to see you give the 18 some love. Enjoy your weekend brother.

Thank you for watching. My 1st charcoal cooker was a Brinkman. I have learned a lot from those days and am looking for redemption as I blamed the cooker not the cook.. lol.. time to meet up soon buddy.

Hey Louis! You are showing that You don't have to spend a fortune to make good BBQ. With patience and controlling temps with the amount of briquettes added, that little Brinkman will get the job done! 👍 I hope I'm right.........I'l be waiting for part 2! 😁👍 Metal On! \m/

Thank you for watching. I won’t give out the results here but my very 1st charcoal cooker was a Brinkman and I hated it- mainly because I had no idea what I was doing

What are your thoughts? My Brinkman sucks It fluctuates temperature like crazy I was watching Harry soo Set up a smokey mountain so I did the same thing except I used charcoal everything was good for 225 I had my probes smoking looking good and then poof everything's on fire and it's gone past 500 Not sure what I'm going wrong I think it's garbage I'm not sure purchasing a weber smokey mountain will be any different I filled up my whole charcoal bed with charcoal and I poured hot charcoals in the middle like one of the other videos that suggested it'll burn out really long time nope the whole thing caught right away and into a blaze! Maybe I'm using too much

Thank you for watching. My very 1st grill was a Brinkman charcoal and I always had it running way hotter than I wanted. I was so frustrated. I actually threw the thing away. I was given a 18” wsm and really started watching videos trying to figure it out. What lesson can I pass on is . Start out with 10 unlit briquettes in the smoker and in your chimney start out with 6 briquettes to light. It is easier to add briquettes than to remove them. And only add 5 at a time. WSM’s are a little easier to control because they have the 3 intake vents at the bottom and you can close or turn down as needed. Also it takes about 15minutes for your grill to settle in at a temp when you adjust a vent so you have to give it time. The top vent will also help control the cook temp so you can adjust it on the Brinkmann but try starting out with less charcoal. Hope that helps and let me know how it goes.

@@LouisatRshackBBQ I significantly cut down on charcoal Like you suggested, and I cooked some amazing ribs. Way more hands on that. A automatic pellet grill ! I also needed patience
