My 2 favourite cooks on youtube. Really appreciate the hard work you guys put in to get the videos to us. You have taken my bbq to the next level. Would love to see you both do a cook together.
Thank you so much for giving it a shot. That is really awesome of you. I really appreciate you. Man thats great to hear you enjoy it. Great lookin brisket!! 🤤🤤
Dear Sir, Of all the brisket videos I have seen, you have the best cut if meat and how you explain how to prepare the meat. Thank You. Stay safe and healthy.
Finding Prime Brisket was hard enough around here before all stuff. Glad to see a choice brisket cook, just more knowledge to absorb. If mine come out with a smoke ring like that with all the juice running out I will be happy. Real nice video Ry....
I've been looking at LSG offsets for a couple years now and wish I could afford one because that bark is hard (not impossible) to get on other smokers. But one thing I really enjoy about you and your channel is that you don't only cook on one device. You have kettles and pellets and drums and offsets and you always seem to change it up. I bought a P&S pellet and my WSM got cobwebs... I get an insert for my Weber gasser and my kettle gets no love. I tend to exclusively use my new toy and ignore all others. But your channel seems to go back to the cheaper BBQ cookers often enough that the everyday backyard BBQer can relate and try. You don't need a 2-3k smoker every time you cook... but if you have one boy are they are nice. :)
This is so funny because we just got a brisket delivered to us from our online grocery store order. I was so worried because mine is really long and I don't think it will fit on my BGE. But I laughed when you put yours on the grill and you could probably handle 2 more. No matter what happens when I put mine on the grill I'm going to be so happy to just be cooking a brisket during this time.
Making brisket for my first time ever this weekend. Videos like this make me excited. I'm doing mine on my Weber Kettle. I don't have time to order the rub for this weekend but I might have to order some for future cooks.
Awesome video again, brisket looked cooked perfect and really juicy, great job. Kenneth is a great guy and so is James from Aim em and Claim em. Excellent smoke ring. I have Kenneth's rub and I will definitely try it on my next brisket soon.
Looks awesome! Last (and only) brisket I did was super bowl Sunday. Only took 6 hours on the PBC, then 2 hours in the cooler. It was amazing and the hit of the party. I used Kinder’s “The Blend” (got it at Costco) and per your suggestion left it in the fridge overnight. Love the channel!!
Just watched your video on brisket from 3 years ago to this one back to back and wow i can see that you have built up a great set of skills for BBQ love the channel brother!
Wow that's a prize winning brisket for sure. You should be in competition, you would definitely take home the prize. Thank you for sharing your recipe and techniques I'm going to the store for a brisket lol. Have a good one and stay safe
Ry, That's Brisket 101 for the Backyard cook. Awesome job. I love that Lone Star. When and if i ever get an off-set. Chances are the LS will be it.. Damn good cook.
Great looking Brisket Ry! I did one a few weeks ago and Sam's had the Prime on sale for $3.45 per #. And the choice was over $4. It was delicious!!!! I love smokimg a brisket!
Fat side up or down is best decided depending on whether heat is coming from the side and over the meat like in most offset pits (or a Weber kettle indirect), or from underneath, (like with a Weber Smokey Mt. or other vertical setup.) Not only will facing the fat cap towards the higher temperature help protect your bark from drying out, especially during temp spikes, the fat will baste the underside some once it starts rendering...and that it will do sooner if facing the higher heat coming across the top. I’ve got a Texas Pit Crafters 20” offset, and with my square firebox will probably soon get the new V-shaped LSG coal basket. Funny how you see the need for something once you’ve seen it lol. If you decide to try their coal basket you may want to start with lump instead of briquettes to avoid ash suffocation. Very good videography. Enjoy your videos.
Another great video Ry! Thanks! -- Your videos are helping me learn. Did my first rack of rips on the webber kettle last week. Followed your steps to T and they came out great!
Love your videos Ry! Great looking brisket. Only thing I'd say is, I thought your ambient music was a touch loud. But great video! Love the water in the bottom of the LSG.
@@CookingWithRy thanks Ry. I also forgot to say I enjoy all the different rubs you use. And your explanation of how this rub accented the beef but didnt overpower it was cool. I love how you try to explain a little why the rub is great or not so great.
Great cook Ry! I just picked up a 17 lb Angus brisket, sure wish I had your Lone Star to cook it on! I’ll just have to shoe-horn it in to my OK Joe hahaha!!!
Great video Ry! Have you thought about doing a cook with the LSG fire management basket? My 20x36 is currently waiting to get fabricated and can’t wait! Looking forward to your next cook
Sublime perfection! Man 'ol man Ry, I am in love with all the LSG product line! I want one hahaha! Have you happened to see the new firebox accessory from LSG? Justin (BabyBack Manic) just did a review on it. It is a fire management do-hickey and it looks pretty cool. Please do more cooks with your LSG.
When I did my Brisket, at Easter 2020, I had 600 grams of amazing Brisket off cuts that my wife made into a slow cooked stew with some mushrooms. It was amazing!! Brisket fell apart after a 12 hour slow cook. My dogs were not impressed with the fact that they did not get them. :D
Beautiful brisket there. Awesome color and smoke ring, with a great bark. Nice job. What size board were you cutting it on? Looks like you had plenty of room. Nice board 👍🏻
Great video once again, I love your lay back approach to cooking how does the smoke flavor compare to you other grills i trying to justify to buy one i have a big green egg, a yoder and rec tec pellet grill thanks for your input
Great job with the brisket. Did you notice a lot of liquid on the brisket when you pulled it out of the refrigerator? The only reason I ask is because the few times I have added rub and let set it over night, I have had this issue. It seems the rub tends to pull a lot of liquid out. Anyways, great job. I plan on smoking a 12 pound brisket this weekend as well.
Another thing that could cause the extra liquid is if your rub has a lot of salt in it, the salt will definitely pull out the moisture. Salt is a cure and used in making jerky, pulling moisture out of vegetables and many other foods.
Nice looking Brisket. Im curios would you put rub on night before on a pork butt. The Lonestargrillz beautiful smoker, I like the fact it has griddle. Are you going to be getting fire management basket, those look like they make an efficient cooker more efficient.
Yeah I’ve put rub on pork the night before. Works great. And I already have the Fire Management Basket, but I wanted to get a feel for the smoker first without using it 😊
Awsome looks really good imma try it for myself and just try if I can cook at the same time lol my girlfriend and her family should be in for a surprise I have dominos on speed dial just in case 😂
Good food! I noticed on your ribs and brisket that you cook on the lower shelf closer to the chimney side, is that for temperature reasons or other? How does the baffle system work? Is i5 as close as LSG says or do you have hot and cool zones ? Hoping to get one soon…. Keep up the great info!
The LSG 20x42 doesn't have traditional baffles below the grate. It has a diverter between the firebox and cook chamber to direct the heat. Just like most offsets, it's a bit hotter near the firebox so I tend to use the chimney side where possible.
Hello RY , are you happy with that smoker completely? I’m talking about size wise because I’ve been looking into lone star Grillz i’d like to get the 24 x 36- but it has tuning plates and I’m sure I can figure that out but yours seems a lot easier to run I want to go with the big size only because if I’m doing a barbecue a lot of people show up. Plus the next size up has a lot more features. The grill plate is bigger I can get the half-inch firebox I feel like it’s in that sweet spot as you explained.
I personally don't know how I could be short on space for this. The capacity is wonderful and I'm looking forward to actually trying to fill it up soon :)
Cooking With Ry i’m just getting into barbecuing but I want to have big cookouts because I come from a big Italian family and have lots of friends so I want to be able to cook everything without coming up short. I guess I have a decision to make but thank you. Your videos are great and I want you to know I think you could do competition you should have more confidence in yourself. You’re a good guy that’s why I subscribed
