A permanent fuel station for a fleet of buses running on gas produced by food waste has opened in Bristol. The new station will fuel buses on the M1 Metrobus route, operated by BCT under contract to First Bus.
This follows on from a trial conducted by GENeco of a "Bio-Bus" which was powered by sewage, as well as food waste, which operated in the city during 2015.
Renewables and Bioresources Manager Charlotte Stamper recently spoke on the BBC about how GENeco make renewable gas from food waste.
Footage supplied by the BBC - first aired on 2nd July 2019.
