I lived in the city for 15 years and the whole place is a rabbit Warren of tunnels like these as well as rivers and a former railway line at Redcliff Hill. I dont think anyone truly knows just how many there are and at I think Lawrence Hill they found the original road complete with a few old shop front hidden under the road when it was raised to allow trains to pass close by.
Nice seeing a old explore on the channel with Sam & Jess Always good seeing what’s underneath us I think Iv seen this explore before is this a reupload Matt? Very good information you give out like always Matt on explores I enjoyed the voice over
I really enjoyed this. Love the music, you narrating, and beautiful architecture. I live in a 1890's home and it has a staircase like the one's here. It's very difficult to carry groceries up to much bigger things. Couldn't get a refrigerator up because the delivery men were afraid of damaging the stairway. The stairs are beautiful but can be difficult with daily life. But still beautiful.
just amazing. love these videos of underground Bristol. Some very unique places and shows how small quarters were back then before technology took over.
In my opinion this is one of the better videos I've seen so far not only on this channel, but on any of the urbex channels. This is the type of stuff that I would love to see. The mystery of why people were living underground I just find fascinating.
Investigate the moodflood, people didn't live there as a suppose underground they were the ground floors streets and all ...They just cover them up all over the planet where ppl existed... same as all deserts are hidding old civilizations, cities are being buit on top other hidding our truth knowledge in many resets 🌈🌈🌈🕵♀️🕵♀️🕵♀️🌈🌈🌈
This is one of the most fascinating video's I've seen in a while, when I click on an underground tunnels explore this is exactly what I'm hoping for! Nice find bravo Matt! 🐸👍
There is more to these ...see the moodfloods tartaria.. the orphanage instructions too many of them back in the 1800s everthing was founded then and stablished only by the rich n still going strong like whsmiths, sainsburys, and many more, the last reset 🌈🌈🌈🕵♀️🕵♀️🕵♀️🌈🌈🌈
I’m suggesting that the spaces weren’t for living but, for a business once located in the building and they used the rooms as a manufacturing area. The cauldrons may have been for boiling/dyeing cloth or yarn possibly. What say you?🙂
Definitely Fascinating Video was your old classic Gimbal doing the sausage Wobble got a good chuckle from that 😄haha Thanks Matthew and Sam Jess and all others!!!; )
Have you seen any of the old photograph collection of that area pre war......it was so different and up untill the fourties remained the same since the 1600s....a bit like Chester but on a grander scale...the Dutch house is what a lot of buildings looked like....great vid again Matthew 👍
I find this one very interesting. Its the first one that ive watched that you talk about it after the time you did this explore. Im kinda torn. I like your natural in time commentary with the sarcasm. At the same i really like how this is more descriptive. Either way always well done thx Scott
The drOne footage Matt! Loved seeing the balcony you samnjess scrambled to climb that wall to get to the roof of the courts... Keep up what your doing, C
This was cool. I am amazed that some of it still exists though and in use. People lived down there??? How strange especially from being across the pond that seems to me. Thanks for sharing I enjoyed the tour. Have a great day and watch out for the spider webs. lol
We have this in Birmingham, a lot is secretly still in use and very modern, shafts will lead on to old pre Victorian times, god knows how long they have been there.
In a previous life I used to live in a cave, wear a fur hide, throw spears to hunt my food etc Obviously there was no digital photography or videography so I couldn't document it for later youtube uploading but I did paint my experiences on the cave wall, maybe you saw some of my paintings? ⚠️😯😊
It must have been terrifying down in those tunnels with bombs exploding nearby, deafening noise, everything shaking, dust falling & knowing that a direct hit would get you even down there & that when you emerged your home & workplace & your friends might be gone. I expect the metal panelling was to stop an unstable area from collapsing during bomb blasts.
Did you say you were with Sam and Jess? I'm sure they said they are not working with you anymore on a more recent video. Have you fallen out? Just curious not trying to be nosy
Interesting, the conservative party room still has candle/lamp sconces on the walls at around shoulder height. You can tell they are for candles or naked flame lamps as there is soot just above them on the start of the curved roof.
At 21:50 odd the 2 meters on the wall, well I'm guessing they're meters, and the lead pipes could be gas, I can remember when my godmothers place had her gas changed from the old coal gas they had to remove the lead pipes and ripped up a section of the old gas main in the street which was lead sheeting wrapped timber lathe construction to give strength to the pipe so it wouldn't crush under the weight of earth or conveyances above ground.
I love the real stone floors. I can imagine women doing washing and sweeping and scrubbing there steps I bet there were flower boxes in the cellar windows, more pride than people take of the back alleys of Bristol today.
