I have seen most of your videos, and one of the things you and others in Great Britain do, ( that people here in the States don't do) is cut most of the people out of the video and you show mostly just the amazing layouts, thanks.
So good to see a modern image layout in a show - nothing at all wrong with historical period layouts but I would contend that - in 2023 - pre-1970 layouts really should not be as predominant in shows as they are! Makes me fear for the future of the hobby.
Okay I _am_ a pain in the arse nit-picker and taking as read that I admire the effort in all these layouts, can I just ask why the Readham lot didn't ask a significant other to knock up some home made concertina carriage connectors, especially as the gaps between them in that first HST125 are incredibly large and therefore jarringly unrealistic?
👋 I’m the son of the creator of Readham - you’re not the first to make the comment, and I think it’s something that may well be looked in to in the future (if HSTs indeed remain “current” enough to be featured on the layout 😢) . However I think the joy of having a layout that can run full length consists with sound provides a joy outweighed by some of the finer nit-picked details. For now we’ll have to just hope the passengers are good at long jumps 🤣
@@holdtightriders Thank you for your reply. Very much in the 'nice to have' column, the gaps seemed to jump out at me jarringly, especially because of the effort gone into everything else you mentioned that makes it rise above other exhibits.
