Carteret, NJ - Bristol Station Apartment Complex Building 4 Destroyed by Multiple Alarm Blaze, Dozens of people were left displaced by the blaze, fire companies from numerous towns responded to the scene. no serious injuries were reported.
The cause is under investigation.

Lightweight wood construction + inadequate firestopping + lack of sprinklers in cockloft = modern-day firetraps.

This is what happens when you build cheap apartments using flammable liquid nails to hold it all together...oh and no sprinklers in the ceilings !!

they were built around 2008

So, it was built in 2008, it should have had a sprinkler system in it. Isn't a sprinkler system mandatory in ALL buildings??

NO, (NFPA 13R) that protects most of the up-to-four-story apartment and hotel buildings does not require fire sprinklers in the attic space.
