There has been games that went into the 20s in points. An average game is 9 innings. Each inning both teams gets a turn “at bat” and score runs . Hit the ball, get on 1st base and try to get around the 3 bases. If you get all the way around, your team gets a point. And the games can get locked in ties. So you keep going until one of the teams messes up. Or one gets lucky. Kind of like Cricket.

Baseball prides itself as “America’s pasttime.” It was bigger than football for many decades, up to maybe the 1970s. It is a game deeply woven into our culture. Baseball players like Babe Ruth or Stan Musial or Ted Williams became like rock stars in their day. I think we enjoyed the drama of it all - when you consider the odds of hitting a winning home run in the 9th inning to win a game, or pitching a perfect game - there was drama amid the shared experience.

Baseball is the oldest American team sport by more than 40 years. It has a robust history that football, basketball, and hockey can't match. Like you said, football has surpassed baseball in popularity. It's a faster game. The teams only play once a week, so it feels like an event. Plus, football is made for gambling more than the other sports. Baseball still has a lot of father and son magic to it. Playing catch together, going to games together, and learning about the greats of the past and today. Baseball is special.

@@robstoll7542 "If you build it, he will come." Also, it's funny how, as popular as football is, rarely do people talk about the pre-Super Bowl era. 5:44 Okay. Most hot dogs are around 6 inches long, "bun length" dogs are closer to 8 inches. Then there are foot longs which are, of course, 12" long (a foot). Dodger Dogs are 10 inches. So not quite a foot long, but also bigger than standard "bun length" dogs. They also can only be found, and bought, at Dodger Stadium.

Hi from LA! It's the Dodgers in this house! My late Mother had a minor operation, years ago, requiring a 12 hour post-op, observational stay. She checked herself out after 7 hours because she refused to miss her game! My mother was rabid Dodgers fan! Most games are about 3-ish hours. But the need for extra innings can drive it over by 20 mins-a couple hours. Even if you're not into baseball, the "stadium experience" is really enjoyable. Even though we love the Dodgers, my favourite local stadium is Angel's down in Anaheim, a hop away from Disneyland.

Especially the fact that they incorporated those old historic downtown buildings into it. We went down and watched as they were in the process of moving a couple of them to the location during construction. I thought not having parking was gonna make it difficult attending games there, but taking the trolley is so much easier. And gets you there and back home SO much faster than the old days of having to fight the traffic out of the lot at Jack Murphy.

Baseball is a fundamentally different experience primarily because there is no game clock. You technically never run out of time, you run out of outs. There is a lot of "down-time" where people just converse, like at a dinner party, and then stop to pay attention when things get exciting. It's just a different feel.

Baseball has been in America since 1845 when Alexander Cartwright (Father of Baseball) came up with the rules that is currently in baseball. Games are usually 9 innings but when the teams are tie, then they can go into extra innings. My favorite stadium is Coors Fields in Colorado, also being at a baseball game is on of these amazing experiences that should be experienced. The sounds of the people talking, smells of the food, hear the crack of the bat, people watching is the funniest part to me anyway. The music is usually play between plays, at the seventh inning stretch, and when the player walk out to the plate, sometime the players will have a song playing that they choose.

Baseball games are really fun. Yes, Dodger dogs are just hotdogs. They’ve been around forever in Dodger stadium. I’m an Angels fan, but as a native Californian, I like all of our teams. They didn’t stay for the 7th inning stretch. It’s when everyone stands up to stretch their legs and everyone sings “ Take Me Out to the Ballgame”. They do this in all MLB games. You should learn more about baseball. It’s so much a part of American culture. Watch “Best Manager Ejections”, “Best Double Plays”, the “Not so Serious Baseball” videos are pretty hilarious. Also, “Nimh Explains the Unwritten Rules of Baseball” is good too. I guess you should also learn how it’s played as well. There are lots of videos on the rules.

Dodgers' family here. We've been fans of the Dodgers since they were in Brooklyn (one grandma was from New Jersey), and you don't just stop that. The crowds depend on the team. Teams like the Dodgers will always have very large crowds because the fanbase is so large and intense, but some teams don't have that.

Dodger Stadium is always an electric and fun atmosphere to be in and the people are always super nice, lots of fan interaction through music and chants. Most players are also usually pretty nice and wiling to sign stuff for you or give souvenirs .And typical baseball games last about 3 hours or longer depending on what happens. I really suggest you check out more baseball content as even though it might seem complicated on the outside, once you get to know how the rules work its quite simple and easy to enjoy

When I was in high school (secondary school), my marching band performed the national anthem at a Cincinnati Reds baseball game. It was one of the best moments of my life, and one of the coolest venues I have ever performed at in my musical career.

Philadelphia Philies baby only way to go. The Mets and the Phillies played in London at the beginning of the month. The fans Brit and American packed the stands at West Ham stadium. There is a Phillies bar in London :) One of our guys Stott has a walk up song that the fans sing while he walks up to the plate. When we go to play an away game, the fans will sing it when he walks up to the plate LOL. Phillies fans are on a whole nother level. Look up the Phanatic, he's our mascot and he's hysterical. Only time music doesn't play is when there's a batter, batting. I sent you pics of a packed stadium at the game I went to. It was 46K people

Dodgers fan here! There usually aren’t tailgaters at baseball games, it’s usually a football tradition. For regular season games, Dodger Stadium is usually nearly sold out every game and they usually lead the league in attendance every year. For the most part though, stadiums aren’t filled to capacity unless your team is in the playoffs or it’s a marquee matchup between teams. Games used to take a long time betweeen 3-4 hours at times, but baseball added a pitch timer recently to help speed up games so games usually don’t last longer than 3 hrs unless the teams are going to extra innings. As for the music, it’s relatively constant. Players will have music playing as they walk up to bat and it’s personalized to them. I can’t wait to see you and your family visit the US eventually!

American sports are definitely a production, they put a lot of effort into the fan experience. No music during play but there's always music playing during breaks or skits or something on the video board going on. Baseball is the most chill sport here tho they play every day basically and as a fan you go and just hang out outside and have a good time for 3 hours, or longer if they're tied

The dodgers are number one in stadium attendance, and scores are usually in the single digits. They used it be a Brooklyn team named after Brooklynites who had to dodge all the trolley cars when they crossed the street.Attendence varies wildly , it depends on the weather, how well the team is doing, weekend of weekday.

If you were a kid in the 70s, 80s or 90s then baseball is life. It’s the hero sport and very America-core. The music plays constantly, many teams have DJs and each player has a walk on song. Also food is getting gourmet. In San Francisco the food is the same restaurants you would find around town. And the SF stadium looks out on the Bay, home runs are hit in the water.

Going to a game is almost like going to a party or a concert because there is always music playing, sometimes dancing, plus you get to cheer for your team and boo the other or the ref. Then you go home. Nobody is brawling, nothing gets destroyed if your team loses.

We have a thing called a Grand slam. I don't know how much you know about baseball but every time someone hits the ball they try to make it to first base before someone on the other team catches it and strikes them out. If the guy who goes after you achieves the same thing you go to second base and they go to first base. (Home base is where you need to be and it's the same place where you hit the ball) So if you've got a guy on first second and third base and a fourth guy hits a home run (I hit that sends the ball so far that someone can run from home to, first, second, third and all the way back to home); It's called a Grand slam when the fourth guy hits a home run and everyone in front of him has to go to the next base so if the fourth guy is going home first second third home, You've got Four guys total that are going to make it back to home base which means you get four points. That's like a huge deal That's usually when they hit it out of the park. Literally or into the stands. It's a cool idiom in America when we say "He hit it out of the park!" Which means he did a phenomenal job

As a general rule “Music must be controlled outside the playing area by non-team personnel, and is not permitted in the dugout. Umpires have the authority to halt play and, when necessary, order the cessation of music for balance of the game, if they determine it is interfering with the conduct of the game.”
