Hi, I'm going to africa to volunteer for a few months and am looking for an affordable water bottle with a good enough filter. Do you think this filter would be sufficient? Or is there any other bottles you would recommend?
Hi Thanks for watching. Sorry for the late reply. I wouldn't recommend this bottle as the bottle is not really up to that quality. It is likely that some virus, bacteria and other pathogens will not get filtered out. This is best for city usage, reducing bad taste. For that reason, I'd recommend you consider water purification tablets, a UV Steripen, Grayl water bottle or the most popular option, the Life Straw. These are designed to work best in countries like Africa, where the water quality... isn't the best.
the giveaway god master I can't deem to find any replacement for the ring. I would buy a new bottle. However, in hindsight, this filtered bottle wasn't my favourite. The Life Straw Go filters water better and has a more practical and durable design. After settling and soaking the filter and cleaning the bottle for first use, you should squeeze two bottles of water through it so small carbon particles can be pressed out. I usually water my plants with it. That should do it.
