I work 40 hours on minimum wage. Landlord upped the rent and i couldnt afford it but according to the council i made myself homeless. Nope its the governments fault for not capping how much landlords can charge for the area. I chose to keep my job over quitting and goin on benefits and yet no one will help me
Not always mate, this is just what the media wants you to believe. Funny isn't it how they only ever publish stories of the rare 1% of people on benefits who get a massive house. Isn't like that for most.
The vast majority of benefit claimants are actually in work - tax credits, housing benefits, child benefits ect - this is a result of employers paying shit wages and greedy landlords charging extortionate rents - no wonder few can survive without top-ups from the state. Try asking yourself why employers and landlords have been allowed to get away with this before attacking those who need help! Oh and by the way, a lot of people claiming DLA are actually working too, and the money they get pays for the extra costs incurred as a result of their disabilities - but the Tory government are desperately trying to convince the public that ALL claimants are fakers/scroungers in order to gain support for the destruction of the welfare state, which is their true purpose (and by the looks of it, they've been largely successful).
The employers do not pay bad wages. People are being taxed to the point they cannot survive. Everything around you have been more or less taxed. That extra 30 to 40% extra on income would make a massive difference.
Finally someone with some empathy and common sense!! I have no experience with people topping up their wages with benefits. But I certainly know about the extortionate rents landlord dish out nowadays, and since the council provides housing benefit anyways, most people will get it. This puts a lot of strain on the benefits system, rents should be cheaper and more affordable. Especially in London, where the average rent is like a £1000 a month, even if it is just one bedroom!!!
Nipzzy Huzzle The solution to that is less taxes on people. Take VAT for example everybody has to pay it and that is nearly 20% of a person expenditure. And then there are hundreds of other taxes. The UK takes in about 600 billion a year that has to come out of peoples pay cheque.
+starlaeuropa "this is a result of employers paying shit wages and greedy landlords charging extortionate rents" Would you care to actually show what the wages and apartment prices in 2015 are? Also, the main reason why a company would pay "shit" wages is because the believe wages should be based on the demand(The less replaceable you are, the more you're worth) of the job, not if it allows the employee to pay for their needs/wants. It also doesn't help when companies have to give so many benefits to the employees. On the "Greedy" landlords side, they had to pay a large sum of money to pay for the property itself and keep it in maintenance, which also makes the property more expensive.
Kyle Dean Apartments? Are you from the US? This is Britain - what you call apartments, we call flats! And what's wrong with paying a living wage? Another point I should make is that a lot of people work fucking hard for crappy wages (my mum included, who has worked her entire adult life) - are you saying that they don't deserve to be paid enough to survive? And what makes you so special that you feel entitled to look down your nose at low-paid workers? Not everyone is so lucky to have been able to go to college or university - even then, if the job market isn't working in your favour, all the fancy qualifications in the world won't get you a job in your chosen field - look at how many graduate are forced to accept jobs in McDonalds/Poundland/KFC ect, because of this (nepotism is very much alive and well, and if you ain't already a part of their "clique" - then you might as well have spent those 3 years in uni stacking shelves for all the good it'll have done for your job prospects)! And most of the unskilled manual jobs that our parents and grandparents would have done, no longer exist - so what are those without skills or qualifications supposed to survive in a society where the cost of living far outstrips their subsistence wages (and don't tell me that they should simply try harder - the reality is that the vast majority of the world's population will NEVER have the opportunities afforded to people like you or me) - or should they just quietly starve to death in the gutter, where upstanding citizens like yourself don't have to look at them?
@ron donnis good for you, however some people cannot improve their lives due to mental health problems... for them it's one step forward and one step back... so we should never judge people and assume they are scroungers.
@@HumansAreShitFactories sometimes born into a poor family gives you a disadvantage in life... you get caught up in your parents culture and get trapped into a circle of unemployment, crime, etc etc.
What would anyone say to a teenager being being beaten shit-less by people who should be sheltering them? My heart goes out to the guy in this documentry who put so much heart into his project.
Its a vicious cycle, one you start going on benefits they prefer to keep you on benefits. Its suits the government to have most of the working or lower class surviving on as little at 10K a year so that the rich can continue to get richer.
That is exactly the same reasoning the democrats have in the USA. They want the people to vote for them . They promise a lot of help ,jobs, healthcare ,education and housing . But they never deliver. Once they are in office they give very little help. The benefits are just enough to keep you alive . These liberals are disgusting.
I definitely agree, not all people in society were literally born with “ a silver spoon in their mouths”. There are seasons in all of our lives, times, people, situations, and circumstances, all of which could change from day to day. A lot less judgement calls, and instead , trying to find compassionate and genuine solutions to problems!!
Welfare system was actually intended only for native British people and it was never meant for foreign aliens!! The whole welfare system has long been hijacked by the elites and the government to keep people forever in plantations and totally dependent on the government!! Foreign aid is hoax !!
Paul Cushing So where is the money going to come from for your little socialist fantasy. Britian is at a point where people cannot pay anymore taxes. We are nearly at the maximum possible level and there is no more give and the government spending is already way over the income level. Some thing has to give it will either be that the UK goes bankrupt or welfare gets cut.
bighands69 Yes, all these poor and disabled people shouldn't be allowed to eat proper food or live in a warm, safe home like us "normal" people who pay taxes. They should all be put on the streets and left to freeze/starve to death out of sight of the rest of us - until it's YOUR turn to be targeted (and you will be)!
starlaeuropa Well said, this "bighands69" guy, seems like a straight asshole. No empathy or any sort of consideration for other people at all. Unless it's him that's in trouble of course.
I was on benefits for 4 year when I became a single parent, thankfully I got of my arse and went looking for a job which I did get , its hard but you can get work if you really want to, being on the benefit is the most embarrassing thing I have ever done, the people who work in these places are snivelling little people , why anybody would want to put themselves through that humiliation, I will never know.
maybe but the government are cunts who don't care we can all make the changes to our own lives, not everyone on benefits are lazy scroungers genuine people get treated like dirt along with people who have no intentions of working its a sick system.WIth respect.
The Welfare State is the biggest disaster to happen on that island in modern times. This has created a nation of dole dependent layabouts, and generations of them too, who have become addicted to others slaving themselves to death for the sake of the common cause. This is a cause that has doomed the place; and to add to this, the British have decided to discard any sense of tradition and value that was still intact after WW2. Now there sits a nation that is infested with illegal migrants, pregnant teenagers, freeloaders and terrorists. I finally moved out of that hell in 2006 and shall not be returning in any capacity in this lifetime.
You mean the nation that after ww2 voted in by a large majority the govt that introduced thr welfare state and nhs. As many of them had lost loved ones.in war or bn bombed out and could remember the 30s depression they knew what a disaster was you obviously don't.
Since big companies do not pay a living wage, they must be required to train workers. They simply are skimming the cream and getting something for nothing. If they want a legal system and no violence they must contribute. Now they do not.
Yes I agree with you I recently had to change over to u.v c the job center could not help me they told me to go c.s.a I said your joking that meant I had to walk for the job center back over to the town up the stairs to the csa by te time I literally crawled they they were closing for dinner by the time I got there I was aching all over but lady on the desk said I could sit and wait till someone saw me ad i sat and waited i just started to cry i felt naked as i can barely walk i was in pain I felt I was laught at by the staff

No, people are just sick of being flogged in some god awful dead end job five days a week for a pathetic non liveable wage...that's why a lot of people shaft the benefit system, If people got a decent living wage & some kind of quality of life from jobs at the bottom end of the spectrum they wouldn't even be bothered to claim benefits., fuck this country!, it's fucked up now

Blob B it's economic terrorism. we'll never be able get a decent wage if immigrants from overpopulated countries like India come here and work for pennies. 1 million people join India's workforce each month, there's no way we'll be able to keep up the job creation with even 1% of them coming here.
I have multiple health issues to but it’s not your responsibility to support me! Do these people on here really think the tax payers have duty to pay you not to work?
Claimants who are reliant on both Housing benefit/Council Tax Support should be very wary. Where in the world could you have system that states `If we find that we have paid you too much housing benefit/Council Tax support...you will HAVE to pay any arrears..REGARDLESS.. of wether it is there fault or not? We really are living in dangerous times, when goverment departments can literaly do what they like to Pensioners/unemployed/and the sick and needy...makes my blood boil??
If bosses paid a decent wage, then there wouldn`t be so much need for benefits. Some working people depend on having their low wages supplemented by benefits.
Non-managerial roles in coffee shops, fast food joints, supermarkets and such used to be jobs for teenagers - not a job to support an adult with responsibilities, a house and a family. I come from an area where more than 3/4 of the residents are claiming benefits and I could have been too and a I tell you - hardly any of them that I know are disabled or actively looking for work. Women that have 2, 3, 4 and more children with either one non-working man or multiple despite not having had a job themselves before the first was born let alone the 4th. I also know several young and fit men who have been claiming JSA for over TEN YEARS - what kind of government allows for that non-sense. We've enabled a generation of "well I could work, but I'd barely earn more than what I'm getting for free now" fools who don't understand the concept of working up the ladder and are too arrogant and entitled to take shit jobs. It's rather like a serial killer who had abusive parents - Do you blame the killer or the parents? Well, what made the parents crazy, or in this case, lazy? We need to stop enabling poor uneducated people to reproduce out of boredom purely to receive more money. Mistakenly had one child in your teens due to poor influence and unforeseen circumstances? No worries, we got your back. Wanna have another despite getting no job yet? Fuck that you're on your own. If people know that's not a viable financial option, they won't risk it. It all comes down to education - If you're unfortunate enough to be a fertile dumb fuck with no skills who had to share a bedroom with 5 siblings and parents who barely worked, don't give your own kids the same disadvantage.
The problems are 1. The destruction of industry throughout the country which removed the workplaces of those now on benefits. 2 Remaining employers with too large a labour pool to pick and choose from while paying low wages 3 The tax credit system which tops up the wages of low paid workers of those with children while ignoring couples and singles who are left to scrape by. Corporate welfare. 4 Governments who allowed all of this to happen who are now blaming the people they put on the dole while those on the dole have ever fewer options of finding work. 5 A system of bureaucracy ruling from across the channel quite happy to sink this nation under the weight of ethnics and Eastern Europeans prepared to work for peanuts while living 20 to a property, as opposed to a family man who can't afford to take such low paid work even with top up benefits as he'll remain poverty stricken after paying the extortion charged for utilities and rent and be no better off at the end of the week, not what this govt promised, but we all know about govt promises. 6 greed of employers who post 'growth' figures year on year which provide wealth for investors but nothing for their workforce, and thats every company and corporation here, till and if you attain managerial level you're now expected to remain loyal on slave wages and without strong unions to fight for improvements the bosses have you by the balls. Not good enough. 7Needing a piece of paper from a training agency or college/uni to state you have passed some form of exam to work in a certain field, serving 'apprenticeships' regardless your age in the likes of shelf stacking, supermarket work which even the lowliest idiot can do but has to offer themselves up for slave rates of pay to get a foot in the door, ridiculous and more corporate welfare.
I don't think this has been the worst period of the UK's history. In the past people had to work just for food, not for money. The market to provide the money did not exist for the very poor. So they grew their own food, made their own clothes, sorted out their own problems to the best of their ability. For education is there a library? Does it have the internet? Much of the time it is what you do at home rather than just what is done at school that makes or breaks your education. It is the extra time people are prepared to keep working on what they are studying that really improves their education. At its very base is education. Repeat something many times and you learn it, it gets easier and quicker. The hard work and discipline is what sets people apart.
Time to pay a real living wage, and scrap zero hour contracts you can't afford to pay bills if you have no work , so you end up in debt, but the system wants the poor in debt , so you can be draged off to court to get fined because you can't afford to pay your bills
Seriously, UK? In the USA, you’d get a LIFETIME cash cap of 2 years! And if that wasn’t bad enough, Trump just signed a new law starting 4/1/2020 putting a cap now on food stamps! You guys don’t know how good you’ve got it!
It's not about laziness mate. There are many factors that contribute to unemployment not least poor education, depression, racism etc etc. Every human needs to be treated with human dignity wether employed or not and this country has stopped treating the unemployed with human dignity from 20 years ago! 🙁
I wonder why I don't see any of these people gardening and doing other things that could help them out. I had the impression that gardening was a big thing in the UK.
if they want to save money, then stop giving Europe £ 34 million a day and 200 million a year on over seas aid!! the benefit bill is less than 50 million a year!!
inkey2 Manufacturing and jobs are leaving the USA 'cause the USA has a high litigation rate! Screw that! Business just wants to do business, not deal with all these lawsuits after you fire someone for doing a sh*t job! Yes, you, b*tch, were fired for doing a sh*tty job! It has NOTHING to do with what's between your legs, or the color of your skin, it has to do with your sh*tty job performance! >:I
inkey2 What they save in litigation costs, is far more than wages! You see some of these f*ckers suing employers for MILLIONS! >:I MILLIONS that could've been used to hire a bunch of people goes to a disgruntled f*cktard who has a legal system where even if you win a case against you it costs more to collect than it does to settle! >:I When America's legal system stops with rewarding frivolous lawsuits, guaranteed more employers will be more inclined to stick around.
This is the problem with benefits. It encourages ppl to NOT take the lower wages or a job at all bc it will decrease their benefits TOO much. They really should be doing ANYTHING to make ppl want to work even if that means that they allow these households to make MORE and still get decent benefits. Of course the housing crisis is at the center of all of this since the benefit cap (which I agree MUST happen but it should depend on the location NOT be flat cap since of course it costs TWICE as much to live in London then somewhere else!)
Patrick Robinson LMFAO, the working poor pay for everything, if you are logical person who accepts facts and understands the difference between facts and opinions, i will quickly prove this to you.It all starts with the money.
As Iff Actually, you would be debating the Prime Minister on this topic - not me. I suspect she was way more knowledgeable on this topic than you are. Her famous line quoted above does not specify who is paying for the Dole. It simply says, 'other people'. You are correct in that 'working' people are paying for the Dole. The key word in your statement is 'working'. If we strip away all the hype used to sell Socialism we discover that at it's core - Socialism is all about shifting self-reliance and personal responsibility onto other people. That is exactly what Ms Thatcher was talking about. Sooner or later you run out of the 'working mans' money.
Quick statement for you five men went to mow a meadow , one sat down and decided to write numbers on pieces of paper, end result the other four had to work harder because they had to do his share as well. is anybody going to denie that four men doing the work of five does not result in the four men working harder. She had no knowledge , all she was doing , was looking after herself and her ilk, by bullshitting those simple enough to fall for it.
It's a similar problem here in the US. Wages here in the US are dirt miserable. Unfortunately, there are people who work 40 hours or even more making 7.50 usd an hour, that's like 5 pounds an hour. However, if you work full time minimum wage, unfortunately you can't qualify for any benefits like food stamps because you make "too much" money. We don't hand out money in the US, food stamps are basically the only monetary assistance in the US. There is cash assistance welfare, but it is very hard to get it even if you are injured or unemployed. It is a shame because there are people working full time for these wages and can't qualify for any food stamps. If you work but are still struggling to get by, you should qualify for food stamps. I used to work as a social worker, but now I work as a personal banker, both jobs are super boring.
A family in the US can definitely receive any number of benefits even if there is a full time minimum wage earner in the household. Food stamps, Section 8 housing, Medicaid, free school lunches, ACA credits, and welfare are all available to families with a full time wage earner. The food stamps program has expanded considerably under the Obama administration. In fact, some companies that pay minimum wages like fast food restaurants encourage their employees to apply for social services as if they were employment benefits.
Hmmm. I guess it depends differently by state. I live in Texas where we believe in "rugged individualism". Yeah I do agree that the food stamp program expanded significantly over the past years, but a lot of that also has to do with the recession and the so called "recovery" afterwards.A lot of the good jobs that used to be in the us were lost or got outsourced, since then, people have had to work lower paying jobs, and a lot of the jobs created from the recovery were these low paying jobs, so people had no choice but to go on food stamps.
philip013 no. If you are unemployed (not disability) beyond the term limit your unemployment checks will stop coming. You’ll still get food stamps (money that can be spent at the grocery) although you can get that even if you’re working. Usually unemployment is only good for about 18 months. Also you have to pay into it so if you’ve never worked you don’t qualify.
those who attended uni - three years of time invested , money - student loans . being of that nature - invented new job for myself to do , having worked on MOD , two military projects - what they like and want . Spent five years on that - eventually the results . Approached CAA / MOD then at west drayton - they organised a raid to take away the working model on concept they would never have known about . Had taken it apart - as no replies - no need to keep it . The raid was week or so after . Only acceptable to them if they can steal it and prosecute inventor for access to 'classified' ...... yatter yatter blah blah . What is easier than application form into post then be interviewed as being the only candidate So she got that more that wrong lot of effort went into that invention - they wanted to be the ones 'making it' Denied them that - never told

the country is a mess if your unskilled or uneducated but then again , this is that why you're supposed to go to school until you have aquired skills things are only going to get worse as we move more and more into automation. There will be NO jobs for unskilled workers. there is no hope for lazy slackers

No where is perfect, you have to work at it. You must evaluate your situation and adjust your life accordingly. I found all kinds of ways to save, stretch and make last.
What about all the families because of their religious beliefs have 2 to 6 wives in the community and are collecting benefits of all sorts from the system and NHS but the real people who are in need of help and support aren't allowed to get it. Our welfare system is under pressure and needs total restructuring to meet the needs of the 21st century UK. We need to deal with the overwhelming issues of giving birth to more children people can cater for, we need to deal with lack of fathers figures in families, high raising single parents in the community and change our divorce laws and deal with domestic violence, children and young abuse and other issues like uncontrollable drinks and drugs and gangs in the UK to reduce critical risk of disease and mental illness that affect homeless people. We need to stop be a country which is afraid to tell the truth about issues and stop hiding under political correction, freedom of values and other information and develop and go back to the Strong British culture, values and heritage which made Britain a great Nation. Our country is sick and very poor we should stop pretending to be strong when we are weak at home.
One of the costs of Imperialism is immigration. The people who bear the biggest cost of illegal immigration is the ordinary citizen. The average Brit is not going to get out of bed unless they can earn at least 1600 a month, but you you have Imis, legal or not, that would do the job for 600 a month. A sum being 6X the pay they would have gotten from where they came from. The days of earning 50,000 a year holding a tool in your hand are over.

We billions of pounds on supporting and campaigning for war in other countries upgrading our military system to support America in the name of alliance of friends. We keep wasting money in overthrowing legitimate Sovereign states like Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Sudan and Venezuela etc. But our governments has been shortlisted the people who desperately need assistance and help. We have a benefit system who is to useless and ineffective to meet our 21st century development and economic development. Our MPs are collecting millions of pounds in taxpayers money doing nothing enough to change this ugly situation. London is receiving 85 % of the capital public funding, more money is spent on London roads, capital projects, bridges and h development whereby people from places like West Midlands and North Wales including Leeds, Sheffield, Coventry , Birmingham, Bradford, Yorkshire, Liverpool, Newcastle, Southampton, Peterborough, Luton, Aberdeen, Northampton, Ipswich, East anglia and North East England are swimming in poverty. But the BBC and ITV London news outlets wouldn't give soild information to the people in London so that they will know it is not that everyone on benefits is lazy and refusing to work but they aren't getting the needed assistance and encouragement to do so. Lack of support and reasonable job opportunities, investment by Blue chip companies, quality housing services and cuts from the government have reduced the standard of living in does areas.
There are two nations virtually side by side in Europe and one is called Germany and one is called Britain , one country has so much money and jobs and high end manufacturing its an embarrassment to the government as they are called upon to spend more of it to contribute to the world economy , the other country is permanently broke has got virtually no manufacturing that they once dominated the world with , are obsessed with Socialism as a political system and no matter how much one government gets its act together to improve conditions , the opposite number in politics will just undo all of what was achieved , so I would suggest to the British people this is your permanent destiny until you eliminate all Socialist thinking from your community because nothing is going to change until you do because this is what created the situation that you are in .
I think a lot of people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue would benefit from not eating so many carbs. They are basically eating tons of starches and sugars. If they ate better they wouldn't feel so shitty.
Some who are on disability awards have dogs for their own protection since attacks on disabled people have multiplied 1000 fold since the Tory Government began demonising vulnerable people.. Anyone in receipt of low income can apply to dog charities like the PDSA, RSPCA, Dogs Trust or Blue Cross for financial help with vets costs... but only for essential and or large fees and a lot of the charities have just withdrawn most of that assistance since April 2019.. I know this because a friend of mine who's dog passed away due to a misdiagnosis cannot get the vets fees settled right away. The amount people in receipt of benefit can claim from these organisations is dwarfed by the amount people leave for these charities in their wills.. Usually the same disabled people who do not have any family..
Unemployment creates apathy and depression especially if its for a long time, even with full employment you still have residual employment, it was classed as the feeble when I did my economics at university and they are unable to hold down a job through various reasons. There is a correlation to violence and crime with unemployment as well, children can by hit because of the stresses of the parents without them realising the cause, I'm not accusing everyone with this but often abuse stems from poverty, I'm not making excuses for the parents because many parents don't hit their children at all. The stress of poverty can lead to mental health problems and the ability to work however many people in poverty are working they aren't getting paid enough, poverty cannot be eleviated if the employers are not paying their staff a decent living wage without government top ups
I am so pleased with benefits I am english.i sort of hurt my back and now I have a free car .my bit of interest for my own home.and £330 tax free every week.of course I won't give this up.they told me I could claim so I did. So glad I did. And a blue badge for free parking.thank you for all the tax I paid in the past.im getting what's mine.or we can give it to migrants.
+ago wa Good for you. But are you sure you're English? I have met quite a few people who are getting all that good stuff you're getting. But they all seem to come from Poland.
Even if you can't get work in the traditional sense you have to help yourself where you can such as increasing production yourself like growing some of your own produce, learning skills that help you generate some capital etc. So many people just relying on the employer or government to provide security means what is provided can be quite substandard.
My Grandfather said "a fair day's pay for a fair days work". What happened to that? I ask no more. Lots of benefits go on Tax Credits and pensions. That's the truth. We should however put our own people first, then work from there. Stop immigration, if that makes me a racist then I'm a proud one. We can solve this. It's simple. Remember government needs its unemployed to keep down wages.
+michael nixson Yeah cut the benefits for all, let the weak starve... look after your own, and let the feeders die... No your not a racist, your a neo Nazi! Not just a flippant comment, do some research, your view mirrors a lot of their views. And you have lumped immigration, tax credits and pensions into angry post. All very different and complicated subjects. But sometimes its easier to just get angry, rather than research and think.
I'm in America . It's just as bad here. The poor are looked at like criminals . Like some how they deserve to be poor. While the rice get ricer , the poor and middle class get poorer
There are simply not enough jobs to go round. Around where I live, there are no big employers anymore, no factories or anything of the kind. They have all shut down or moved abroad. The only big emplyers are the supermarkets, Adsa, Tesco and so on, and what has happened is taht these have come, built huge superstores, and the smaller shops have had to close down. That happens here, is that its not just the smaller shops that lose their staff of 2 or 3 people, but the delivery people who supplied these shops also lose their jobs, the landlords who own the shops also lose their money, and the insurance companies who charge for the owners to have these shps, it all goes down the line, and if affects many many people. These big supermarkets certainly take on staff I grant you, but at what rate of pay? Minimum wage, or if you are lucky, a little over it, but how many hours? No one taht I know who works at Tescos, Asda, B&Q, Argos, Homebase or any of these bigger stores actually work more than 20 hours. So, what happens? People who are working, are also getting benefits because they are not earning enough money because there is genuinely not enough work out there. These big stores are costing us a fortune. They are costing the government a fortune. We do need them, for sure we need them, but there needs to be a limit on how many there are in any one place. The world is over populated, and if we limited families to only having one or two kids, then in about 20 years time, there will be enough jobs for everyone. As for the benefits, then sure enough... Help the people who have kids, please help them... Help them by taking the kids off them, and giving the kids to people who are screaming out for a child you know - the ones who will love the kid because that kids wil be wanted - unlike most of the cunts on the dole who only see another child as a better chance for a bigger house, or more child benefit, and yes, I have a coupel of local families in my mind right now. There are a few short term things that can be done, and there are a few longer term things too, but to do absolutely nothing except take money off the poor, is just plain wrong.
+FatRakoon Right - so a family with 2 children where one or both parents are working miniumum wage jobs and doing the best they can for their children deserves to have them removed because their employers refuse to pay them enough, or give them enough hours (many working families have to claim Tax Credits and Housing Benefits to survive)? How compassionate of you....
+FatRakoon Or maybe if one parent becomes disabled or terminally ill - yes, let's stick the boot in by sending social services round to take the kids away, never to see their parents again - how DARE they need support from the state, those monsters!
+Claire Davey Are you stupid or just deliberately miss interpreting what I said? I never said that working families should have their kids taken off them. I was talking about the doleys who dont want to work and instead, just have yet another kid as a way to bring money into the home.
I think if so many people weren’t lazy and wanted to just be on benefits that would be way more business is open because people would be working at them and making money and spending it how do these people on benefits think the people that own these businesses can keep paying for their benefits with their taxes and afford to keep open
I had ulcer colitis. I was working in one of the most expensive cities in the world because I needed the money. I was going to the toilet 30 times a day in pain. I fighted it. Anything is possible. You just need to fight it off.
Thomas Jefferson had the solution. He had a vision that all Americans would own land as farmers and be self-sufficient. It created a very high standard of living in the colonies. It was called "Jeffersonian Democracy." But then as people moved to the city and gave up their capital, they became dependent on their employers. Unskilled workers were especially hurt.
and more and more and more and more people keep coming to sponge up all the free services. Picture a toilet and then picture Britain going down it with your favourite choice of politician flushing it.
they only say that to keep the working public happy. the reality is that even boris knows nothing is going to change. he just says what he needs to say to keep people voting for him
@@garnhamr The probably is the NHS is run really badly, money is wasted left right and center, I read a book about an NHS doctor and he gave loads of examples of how money is wasted and of how cluless bureaucrats are fucking everything up. Same with the benefits system, if you keep popping out kids you get more than someone who works full time, how is that right? No incentive to work for some people, laziness is rewarded in the terrible system.
I don't know about the benefits system. It's great that we have one. But not to live on. Raise minimum pay it will help the working poor and encourage more to leave benefits. There has to be more jobs available. One of the few growth areas in the uk is the number of millionaires. Somethings wrong
Actually it's Tax Avoidance which is perfectly legal. If you took the time to make yourself aware of the difference then maybe you could save some money on your taxes?!
If people had money, guess what ? they would spend it and create jobs. People would have a coffee and a meal out like they did in the nineteen fifties.
Not only has the presenter got a sexy voice like warm caramel but she can make a decent documentry in under fifteen minutes. When the bollocks broadcasting cope ration -BBC can only offer the same middle class tabliod fodder on the matter . With those bastards at the BBC signing up to the usual gutter press ethos benefit claimants= scroungers it's a shame that only independent journalists and film makers are cooming up with a different take on the issue. A shame because they cant reach the same audiance and change peoples perceptions the way the most shamless of all the benefit scroungers the BBC can.

I feeel solo low with my life at this moment, and trying everything possible to make my self happy..... It a sick world!!
This is very professionally produced, was this for a TV station or something you did? Definitely good enough to air as a piece for Inside Out South West or something. I'm a claimant so I'm interested in anything that examines the issues albeit from some fairly right wing perspective, ie there were too many claimants under Labour and "are we getting lazy" the issues are deeper than that. Employment is based on the conditonal idea of getting a businesses money and them continuing to hire you, and then basing your life on that, you could lose your house and your possessions if it goes wrong, even with more assessments etc benefits still seem more secure than that, so a new alternative which has no real relationship with working is the idea of the "universal basic income". Ironically it would make it easier to work since your whole life would not be based solely on employment income which is how things should be going, Well produced and interesting examination of the issues
+Michael Farrie Thanks for your comment, Michael. This was a documentary I made while I did my MA in Television production at Falmouth University. It was just me and a camera, no budget. It's never been broadcast, I just wanted to tell some of these stories as there are so many, and so many different opinions as well. I'm Norwegian and currently work back home. I'm glad you found it interesting and I hope all is well with you. Kind Regards, Amalie Skeie
+Michael Farrie also I believe that to have a UBI either marginal tax rates would have to be really high leading to work disincentives or the UBI would have to be too low to live on. there is also the additional matter of work expenses.
Unfortunately the uk has moved away from creating wealth to redistribution of wealth and the vultures are straight in single parents etc pay nothing into are economy yet take out the books are certainly not balanced.
