The Chally 2 actually has three piece ammo-not two piece like Justin said. The third part is the ignition for the charge that gets slapped on the charge after it’s loaded I believe
The ignition cartridges are loaded into the breech in a magazine much like the sort you’d load into a rifle. I forget how many charges each magazine can hold (I want to say 9?) but you don’t have to load an ignition charge every time you load a round/propellant charge
@@AxlePlaysGames technichally it should be a clip with about 5 rounds (for balance) and then a shortish reload time plus the regular shell load time, that would be realistic and authentic.
I really like the new sabot shell physics, when you are shooting planes close, it increase the chance of hitting it, like in this video, i dont think justin hit that a5/f5? Its the casing did it
Ahh thanks for pointing out the decal thing. I think the option is a good thing (and should be there for decorations too), but it should default on. I think personally I still prefer the 2e. Penning things has never been my issue, and the faster reload can save you a lot. If this thing had the improved armour the real one is planned to have i'd say the payoffs are worth it, but as it stands I just don't see enough improvement to balance out the reload.
I think the main issue with this Challenger 3 (TD) is that, it has one different thing that the others don't have, which in all honesty barely gives you an improvement, but it still has none of the armour anything else has. so you lose the reload rate, the one thing the challenger 2 had that is good, and instead you get more pen, which in the grand scheme of things, doesn't matter too much because for the most part you have to aim for the same weak spots that the old gun would pen anyway; so if anything it might be a little worse or on par with the normal challenger 2 but at a higher br. keeping in mind, gaijin said it wont be getting a spawl liner either, and the armour will be the same as the challenger 2's core armour in an official statement, so none of this is likely to change. so the pro's as I see it are +better gun (more pen on rounds) +higher sitting CITV and the cons -slower reload rate -higher BR with no armour improvement -same speed as the other chally's (reaches max speed faster due to RPM, but overall speed is the same) -no spawl liner - edit: apart from under the front plate -no additional armour such as ERA (not that it would do much anyway)
@@Halesey_15 the only piece of spawl liner it gets in the Chally 3 is under that front plate, there is none on the sides of the hull and none in the turret at all. they have already said they wont be adding it, because they have no physical evidence of it in an official post.
@@Halesey_15 it isnt "faster" it just gets up to speed quicker than the others. i believe it has the same max speed as the other challenger 2's, its just quicker at reaching said max speed.
really big tunissia is fun ... especially the battles around B cap and you can also snipe if you want to... it was really dynamic for me when i played it
18:47 Every day every time hit that battle button i play one nation and then Isay oh that nation must have some decent ppl playing rite now so I switch and "NoPe" same thing. That BIG Tunisian map great bigger more room.
Honestly, the change in firepower is noticeable, never had issues with it but this is definitely a big jump, very nice they improved mobility on Challengers makes them way more desirable now!
How does haze show on thermals, it's only visible to us because it reflects light. It's not hot, so it doesn't emit thermal radiation, thus should be invisible to thermals.
Suffered nothing but frustration trying to use the mavericks, not only does the sight unlock after every launch but the missiles detonate mid air against targets in the open even… Mk 13’s are so reliable and fun to use down low
Yea they are a pain. I wish they would fix them a little bit so I can take out AA from far. To use the GBUs you got to get close which sometimes gets me killed by AA.
To answer at 21:30 -ish: I desperately want RB/SB sized maps for AB games. I love aiming past the aim assist range when I can and the extended driving time shouldn't be an issue for most vehicles since they all have a stupid HP buff anyway.
They really need to buff its turret traverse speed. Because it isn't accurate in game. Also the minster of defense for Britain says its supposed to go 45 or 50 mph
I noticed that with the MMO years ago and got called names in the forum. But it´s true, if you win to often you get clubbed, hits don´t spall and if you get hit with one shot your done.
So they are adding the spall liner to the Challenger soon hopefully? The Challenger 2, Challenger 2 (2F), Challenger 2 TES, Black Night, Challenger 2E, and Challenger 3 (P) but this not this one It looks like.
The actual CR3 will be different to the Demonstrator (what we have in-game), which was revealed in 2019 for LEP and used again in the CR3 announcement in 2021. The in-service version will have a different turret, improved armour, and Trophy APS (it’s also unsure if it will actually receive the 1500hp engine upgrades and I’m fairly sure the TD itself should still have 1200hp)
I grew up in Britain. Family are Jewish Russians. So naturally I have three nations I love dearly and 3 nations I play as and obviously from history one that I hate. Sorry Niemsky.
Love how in the Poland match the Chinese fucker on the top of your team was cheating the entire time, Pheonix RX0 and demoknight105 were right in that.
I find it hilarious when you get war thunder guys and WoT guys talking about challenger 3 being a bad tank because it has certain weak spots as if it’s as easy to aim for such spots in real life tank warfare, they obviously think you can use the zoom button on a real T90 to zoom in and hit small specific spots on a challenger tank lol and they really judge the real life vehicle on in game parameters
Okay so on war thunder the effective armour is like up to 400mm on the chally2s right on the turret face. For reference irl it’s 1400+mm and the sides are 720mm. The Russian tanks have 525mm of armour pen. You can see what would happen. Sit with a chalky and fire away until you hit it unless u get hit by a helo or javelin type ATGM or hit in the weak point.
The only I don’t get is why the lower plant like the tank is heavy compared to most nato tanks and yet has a 70mm plate i know it’s meant to be hull down but can someone explain any other reason
Having the LFP be “unarmoured” is part of the design, with the intention to use add-on when going into combat as was done with the Challenger 1. Any photo of the Challenger 2 in theatre will have either ERA or Composite over the LFP, as seen in-game with the DL2E/DL2F modifications
It may only go 59 but on most terrain your not gonna see 59 in anyway. Like watch his speed through out the vid and tell me how many times his speed caps out.
Yey 1 playable top tier tank i have all the challengers 2s they are horrificly bad. Worst top tier mobility out of all the mbts, Worst firepower, Bad turret rotation, Challenger 2 has horrificly bad armor hull is easily penetrated and playing hull down sucks aswell due to turret weakspot being big and crew dying when shot in the turret. It has nothing good going for it except black night APS i guess???? Its outmatched by every other nation on all important points. This new challenger 3 im sorry if im negative its better but this is just a worse Leopard 2a6/Leopard 2a7 lmao why would you play this over a 2a6/2a7
The Challenger 2 is already one of the best, if not THE BEST tank I the world, with the most high-tech armour, an in-built kettle, and a decent gun, and its being replaced with the Challenger 3 that has the same gun as the most modern Abrams and Leopard, in addition to a more modern interior and it keeps the kettle!!!! FEAR US!!!!🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧☕️🫖
Yes the challie 3 has the RH120 but it’s the longer L/55 Version the M1 Abrams still runs the L/44 but with better depleted uranium penetrators for = pen between the 2 barrel lengths but the Abram’s has a better advantage when it comes to urban combat
As a british main i can say that british tanks suck ass,but theyre really fun and challenging to play and every engagement feels fair reganless of who youre facing because your rounds are strong enough to penetrate the enemy, and your armor is so shit that youll be penetrated 100%
All british challenger tanks would never enter combat with out their Dorchester side protection and turret sides and also frontal hull so this is crap when these Russians will always put t90 up with full era protection but they never do it for the challenger, they should make it fair and remove all era from t90 and put it up with no applicate armour
10:25 I would always applaud destroying helicopters, but doing so through smoke is technically "abuse" of a mechanic. Could be bannable because players arent meant to see through smoke, even if it's a graphical issue. So ill recommend to keep stuff like at a minimum when making content because its basically posting your own crime lmao.
Full speed only matters in video games. No tank, moves around at it's top speed. Reverse speed and acceleration are far more important for any MBT in real life.
How did you come to that conclusion? Besides the fact 'the Challenger 3' does not yet exist beyond an upgrade contract and this technology-demonstrator prototype we got ingame, the hull is still the same Challenger 2 hull. I'm not sure how you imagine it would suddenly nearly double its current top speed (on roads, mind). Yes, it will get a new engine and transmission, but there are no serious sources claiming anything beyond 60kph top speeds (which assuming that is off-road, is still seriously good). But the TD is not an operational variant, as it is not yet 2027 when the first Challenger 3s are expected to be delivered to the army.
96? I highly doubt that. British tank design doctrine from the Churchills onwards has been to have a tank that can maintain its top speed across ANY terrain, which means they are never designed to be so fast.
96kph is from a mistake in the original press release, some poor sod put 60mph instead of 60kph in the marketing, which can still be seen in Forces News' video and article from 7th May 2021. The article on the UK Government website currently reads "As part of the Army’s commitments to adapt to meet future threats, Challenger 3 will be fully digitalised integrating information from all domains whilst being able to travel up to 60kph." Using the Wayback Machine, you can see that on 7th May 2021 it reads "As part of the Army’s commitments to adapt to meet future threats, Challenger 3 will be fully digitalised integrating information from all domains whilst being able to travel up to 60mph."
Mmmmm... game tanks aren't real tanks, the real challenger 2 & 3 are much better and so are the crew but with a russian game they are always going to be faulty unlike the russian tanks which as the Ukraine war shows are perfect.
Hey Justin can you play the Chally 2 again it’s had a massive bug with the spall liner and new volumetric armour, also don’t add the add on armour since it spalls more
Yes i know that feeling very well, especially with US. Whenever i play it or its on my team, its a sure loss. But oftentimes when its on the enemy side, i still lose xD its magic
the challeger 3 is a game changer, im a british main and yesterday i had the best three games ever🎉. was able to control the field for 5 minutes straight in one match and those DM53 😮💨.. GAME CHANGER!🥲
6:38 that transmission probably isn’t properly modeled in game. It’s most likely limited to a certain ratio or gaijin is most likely using an older chally models gear ratio.
even the older models transmission are not modelled correctly. when you try and turn it kills all your momentum and/or brings you to a stop. pretty sure it should have regen steering, meaning that it should control smoothly during an accelerated turn, but it doesnt.
BEA and KMW stated it in their documents the Chally 3 is capped at 60 km/h, nato tanks can go faster but they restrict the speed, because the tracks hold longer. The Leo 2 could go theoretical 120 km/h, the tracks are build to withstand that speed. Naturally the engine can´t take it.
@@PeterJ1851 yeah, and when they deploy, such as in Afghanistan that restriction is removed, but enforced. example, they CAN go faster but the crews are advised to go slowly to keep the longevity of the vehicle and to not hinder preformance.
You could feasibly commonwealth in a Canadian 2A6, and there's the chance for the 130mm testebed though there's so little to go off there that it's inclusion is pretty unlikely.
@@nobleman-swerve the 130mm prototype would imo be best to give to both britain and germany. IF it were ever added. Well no it would be added but not any times soon
Could we get a video on the first heavy tank in the Italian tech tree, the Tigris (Hungarian Tiger I Ausf. E)? OddBawZ did a video on it & it didn't disappoint, because like the Heavy Tank No. 6 in the Japanese tech tree, Germany players don't know how to counter their own kind.
I’m a Britain and German main and I only know thanks to playing Britain, but I can confirm most mid-tier German mains are incompetent. I’ve pulled a 12 or so kill game at 6.7 twice in the last month and my team lost both games because I died one too many times and couldn’t pull the nuke off
This tank has made people sweaty about Britain again. Honestly cant wait to unlock it. Still not sure how a manually loaded 2 piece ammo configuration is slower than a single piece solution though 🤷🏻♂️
lap loading is unsafe for single piece ammunition so when you watch an abrams loader load the gun he waits until the gun has fired then pulls out the next shell, however with 2 piece ammo you can have the projectile of the next shell in your hands ready to instantly load after firing @@darkhammer2078
@@darkhammer2078 Lap loading was possible because you only held the smaller kinetic penetrator and not the propellant. Single piece ammo has the penetrator and propellant combined so it’s unsafe to lap load.
@@MD-wn4ui says who I be lap loading my ammo it’s frowned apoun true but wat happens in the tank stays in the tank and lap loading is possible unless flairback then it’s very dangerous but mostly it’s fine
For a unfinished prototype... it's still missing most it's spall lining from the Chally 2 (Which encases the entire crew compartment, also not fully modelled on the Chally 2). It's gun axle system is a improved Chally 2 version... so should perform as good if not better than a Chally 2's vertical movement and stabilisation. Also the hull rack is still a armoured wetbox (is it even modelled!?) and the Chally 3 prototype has "dual" blow out panels in the turret for the ammo rack... 1 of the 3 reasons the turret is longer (the other reasons is to accommodate the larger breach and the much thicker armour in the final version). The speed should be the same as the 2E, as that was the point of the design... to be equal to or better than the 2E in everyway. The final version of C3 has a new composite armour and nearly a meter more of it. Which from public data should provide nearly 2 meters of additional protection... however, the armour on the Chally 2 ingame is well under performing... It's been proven Chobham provides the equivalent protection of twice the thickness of hardened rolled armour... and there is over a meter of it in the turret cheeks... plus the thick rolled steel and spall lining.
Why are you mentioning Chobham? That hasn't been used since the first M1 or Challenger 1. Challenger 2 uses Dorchester and Challenger 3 will use 'Epsom'.
@@CabbageBloke I know... but i am putting it into perspective... "Chobham" is partially declassified and "has a protection rating of X2 thickness of Hardened Rolled steel".... Dorchester is better than Chobham and Epsom is better than Dorchester... Yet Chobham (with the data we know) is WELL under performing in War Thunder... So Dorchester is under performing even more.
@@CabbageBloke The way it's explained is subjective... some sources are saying that way and others are saying the other way... others are even saying it comes with both as standard. It may be a whole new armour layout system, as they are using the term "New Modular Armour" rather than "New Armour". I have a feeling the final looks (With both armour) however will be what we saw on the 130MM Rheinmetall Challenger 2/3 demonstrator (That thing looked like a beast). At this time, only it's designers and builders know as it's still not in service 😟 Lets just go with "Epsom/Farnham" to be sure lol. Either way we are going into guessing territory here... which is why i referred to Chobham... something we all know a bit more about.
Britain build tanks near to German tier and the best armour in the world. If the game was realistic challenger 2 pre effective trophy era would be the best tank I’m the entire game. Bear in mind chally 2s are meant to have 1000mm of turret armour effective irl.
they will do anything to not make this tanks not as good as it should, the mod specifically said it does 60kph and that it has upgraded armour on the turret compared to chally 2 but its exactly the same in most areas and worse in the mantlet because there is no proof...... so why didnt they just make it the same as the chally 2 mantlet not worse XD
Thats not meta, thats garbage. Doesnt have MANDATORY war pack of protection in NERA. So, its garbage. Lackluster halfassed downgrade from black knight or urban combat Cr2
Hey, you asked for opinions on the sim/large maps. I honestly don't enjoy the play style as it becomes far more of a camp and snipe type game. I also have an eye disease that means I play with a pretty severe handicap and the larger maps means I barely stand a chance at enemy detection from range.
