+Sarah Foster They actually were a couple of writers for a newspaper that were sent to write about the experience auditioning for Britain's Got Talent, so they made up their own little act to present to the judges! They told the show beforehand and everything, so the judges knew they were just writers, so unfortunately that means they weren't actually sent on to the next round :)
@@winscho2014 It’s most probably true. At 4:47 Ed said they didn’t want to be performers. The judges always have to give their thoughts on the acts performed, I mean that is their job.
The best part is that James keeps his mouth slightly open when Ed is talking, so it actually looks like a ventriloquist act. Just with a very life like dummy.
I was so disappointed to find out that they were journalists doing a bit for an article. They couldn't move forward because they didn't formally apply, so they were not allowed to proceed :-( . So sad!!!!! I love them!
So very ironic that this is one of the very best auditions ever. I really wish this was actually in the competition. I'd have loved to see more since 2012. I think they could make the finals if they had similar acts.
They were so freakin hilarious and the dance at the end was everything! I read an article that they put the act together in a little over 3 hours! I hated they were reporters doing a story and not real contestants. Would have loved to see more from them! I come back to this video often because it always makes me laugh and smile no matter what my mood. You guys were awesome James and Ed! 💜💜💜
my favorite parts were when david buzzed and when he carried the dummy out, and when he pushed him in the box and he said " NOO I DONT WANT TO GO IN THE BOX"
If you're wondering about the act, they didn't progress because it They were actually a pretend act. They didn't apply for the show in the proper manner, but were a llowed a one off audiion as because they were both writers for some newspaper doing a piece on BGT. Production staff later said that if they had done a proper audition, it would have been a tough call.
Gosh.. I almost watched this act more than 100 times this week & especially Alesha's Dance is damn good, her gorgeous red suit and so as James rocks dance. Fabulous performance James & Ed..
I have to add that when I saw Alesha start dancing, my Heart decided it would stop beating... Every time I watch this video, I wish I was with her... She's so Amazing and Talented.
If these guys were real contestants and could write more bits (probably could considering they are writers) they could have definitely won this whole thing. I can rewatch this all day. So hilarious!
+Marianne Bigno yeah tho too bad that black woman judge totally ruined the dancing part doesnt matter who she is, camera shoulda been focused on the auditioners.. need to let them do what they came for lol..
i know she's the singer, is why i said before, 'it doesnt matter who she is'.. we didnt get to see the whole act.. which is the point of the whole show. lol
Even for a one-off act, when you have one of the judges dancing with you to her own song as part of your act? You know you’ve done something ridiculously good.
yes except Alesha who is new to me is the cutest thing I have ever seen and shines in so many ways when she dances with the guy. I'm in love. Her video of the actual song is Beonce esque and a shame . Beonce has no talent and Alesha has so many layers of beauty that no one would notice Beonce in the same room.
All these years later and I still keep coming back to this video. Especially when I'm a bit down and need a pick me up. I know they were really reporters and put together the act in a hurry to get a feel for what contestants feel but they honestly could have probably made a great living as a comedy duo for real. Hilarious every time and his little dance is so sexy! Love these guys!
Can't stop clicking replay button... super hilarious + alesha's dance just hilarious act... can't stop laughing😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 i'm addicted to the dance and alesha pointing simon😂😂😂😂
10 years I've been coming back to this video and every time it's as good as it was a decade ago. No one could have imagined that two reporters could put an act together in a couple of hours and win the crowd over. I remember there was discussion that the two could have actually progressed in the competition had they entered their act formally through the proper channel. But then again they were not performers per se and had no intention to continue with the act. Ed Gleave as the poppet was my favorite and I still follow his write ups in the Daily Star.
This should have been made into a weekly show on BBC! They would be fantastic hosting a good old fashioned variety show! Like Laugh-in but with British Comedy! They would be fantastic in skits, as well! Can someone make them revive these characters? 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Omg b the smaller one was so adorable! He is so young and this is happening? No wonder he was shaking of happiness at the end! It was so cute, I just wanna cuddle him!
I fkng love the interaction with the judge and the guy when they was dancing *Best Part!.* they REALLY should work together on music or acting! Something! Love it.
