I have this car seat and also the isize version in a separate car. I can shake this one from side to side pretty significantly compared to my other seat. I see you said it doesn't matter but after having watched numerous crash test videos, my husband (mechanical engineer) and I agree the energy absorbed in a crash will not be sufficiently absorbed by the extending leg.
Hi Kat! Thank you for the video, we have just installed this car seat with watching your video. I have a question for you because non of the official web sites say that, does it move a little when you shake it strongly with both of your hands on each side? We have two of these car seats, my car is a SUV and my husband’s is a regular one. They both let you shake when you try strongly. Thanks in advance
Hi, Yes it’s ok if the seat moves - isofix attaches the seat to the chassis of the vehicle so it won’t go anywhere in a collision 😊 if you have a look through my videos, I do have one on “why do Isofix car seats move” which will help you identify if it’s ok movement, or excessive 😊
Hi Kat, is it Honda Civic VIII by a chance? :-) If so, how much the front seat needs to be pushed forward to accomodate Dualfix behind,, then? Will it be still comfortable for the person sitting in front?
It’s a 2007 Civic, I’ve no idea if it’s the VIII I’m sorry! Front passenger room is ok, the front seat can still come fairly far back. For an average height person, legroom is great! It is a deceptively spacious car!
