100% convinced on letting go of epoxy - I’ve had too many mess ups with epoxy measurements & not properly curing. Onto Brite tone 🤩 thank you for the tutorial

One is clearly more opaque than the other. I wish you had kept track of which was which! I immediately saw a difference when you asked. Then at the end the person I was watching with said "the one on the left looks less shiny" I was like "I know! I see a difference too!"

I like to use Glitter Glue on my pencil pens, since I usually do two rounds of glitter, and that way the wait time is shorter.

Oh I just figured it out by the color of the holder. The one with crystalac only shines brighter.

I'm thinking resin is always going to be best for me. It doesn't matter what kind of glue I use, it always dries way too fast for glitter and it's super hard to build up a nice level of glitter with glue instead of resin. Excellent information though on these two glues!
@AlisonCrafts
@AlisonCrafts 2 года назад
These are non toxic unlike epoxy so that’s why I use it ❤️
@CarolinaGirlCreationZ
@CarolinaGirlCreationZ 2 года назад
@@AlisonCrafts I totally get that reasoning. I really wish I could find a glue that stayed wet long enough to work as well for me as I feel the resin method does. I know it would be soooo much faster too. Lol! Love your vidoes and especially comparisons like this. It is super helpful when making decisions. 😋🤗

I know this video is older, but I was wondering since you used it as a top coat here. You put the glitter right into the glitter glue and then sealed over it again with the glue, so it was tacky at the end? It is tacky until you crystallac over it? How did you get it to not be tacky in the end?

What else have you done besides the tumblers? Have you tried making cutting boards?

Have you ever tried Elmer's Adhesive Spray as the glitter sealer before the bright tone? Just wondering if it's comparable to the E6000 spray or if it would react like mod podge. So thankful to have found your channel!

Can you use pigments meant for coloring epoxy to color Brite Tone? If not, besides the crystalac pigments, are there any other pigments that can be used to color Brite Tone?

I just started using the brite tone instead of epoxy that I've been using. When using Brite Tone can modge podge be used to seal glitter instead of glitter glue?
@heatherledoux5224

I'm hoping so! I have a lot of mod podge. I also don't have time to order glitter glue to get a tumbler done for Christmas
@AlisonCrafts
@AlisonCrafts 2 года назад
Honestly, no. Mod podge is not recommended. You could use mod podge to apply glitter but weird things can happen with direct contact with Brite Tone. I recommend the e6000 pump spray as an alternative to seal!

Ya! Just needs to be prepped first and you’ll need a few coats over the glitter to make it smooth

I don’t make tumblers but I make glitter bottles and I leave the textured feeling of the glitter. Can I use the glitter glue as a sealant alone or does it have to be sealed with bright tone?
@AlisonCrafts

the glitter glue dries a little tacky so i recommend brite tone or the new grand finale is probably even better for you
@jadegirl5150
@jadegirl5150 2 года назад
After sealing and smushing in parchment paper you can then apply the brite tone or do I have to smush and apply glitter glue multiple times before going onto applying the brite tone layers?
@AlisonCrafts
@AlisonCrafts 2 года назад
If you get good coverage, you only need one coat of glitter. but sometimes you will need two :)

I have both Brite Tone and Glitter Glue but haven't dived into tumbler making yet. I am curious if you find one or the other better for application techniques that take more time. You mentioned that one of the benefits of Glitter Glue is that it dries more quickly, so one can move onto the next step in 2 hours versus 4 hours with Brite Tone. Are there times when you choose to use Brite Tone specifically because it allows you more time for your glitter application? Taking into account that drying time will vary depending upon the temperature and humidity of one's workspace. TIA.

people use it yes, just let it dry a full 24 hours at least. It can cause issues though so best to avoid
