This season of coke studio is arguably the greatest body of work (music composition, lyrics, sets, performers, artists, tech crew) ever assembled in one season/album anywhere! Unreal amount of talent and skill!
Strings the band has played a huge part in preserving and promoting Pakistani music locally and globally, and the typical Pakistani sound which makes it unique from rest of South Asia and the world. It was one of the two big bands that started in 80s Vital Signs and Strings. They halted but resumed and made themselves global in late 90s. Sam Raimi personally picked their song "Najane Kyun" for the Spider-man 2 movie and was included in OST of the movie. Coke Studio was a big thing in Pakistan from Season 1-6 but not that popular globally until season 7 when Strings took the throne and they just took it chartbustering global Pakistani soft cultural export specially in India and South Asia. Strings is an emotion, band of highly qualified musicians Faisal and Bilal. 30+ years of service to the Pakistani Music and always staying on top. not every band can achieve such stature. Thank you Faisal and Strings from our heart ❤
Faisal Kapadia is such a humble guy. Not once did he show from his attitude that him and his band mate (Bilal Maqsood) were music producers themeselves of Coke Studio. So much respect for this guy 🙏
Faisal Kapadia man what a legend, what a class act, so incredibly humble!!! Don’t know what made me more emotional, the band coming to an end or him coming in and ending this season giving us this gem. Quite an overwhelming experience for any strings fan. This song in particular always makes me emotional cause its personal for everyone, can be interpreted in so many ways!! Thank you for your lovely reactions, can’t wait for you to be here from the beginning of s15, just a few more months to go❤️
Every season of Coke Studios has a 2 or 3 hit songs but season 14 sve back to back hit songs .. the whole season was a huge hit .. but please do react to "Khaaki Banda" from "Season 9 of Coke Studios" and also "99 names of ALLAH" performed by "Atif Aslam" .. its not a part of any season but sponsered by Coke Studios
RAP WAS ALWAYS IN EXISTENCE FOR A LONG TIME FROM VERY OLD DAYS IN THE VILLAGES , BUT IT WAS CONSIDERED AND CALLED, YAK LAFZEE, MEANING A PARTICULAR WORD WILL BE THE BASE LINE AND THE WHOLE SONG WILL REVOLVE AROUND
Your reaction to these videos have been an absolute treat, by far my favourite. Thank you so much for contributing with your feedback, always so kind🫶🏼
Walaikum Salam Mr. Johnny Law, you have done it, you said that URDU Sentence perfectly 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 Bravo loved the fact that you are awesome in adopting a new language. Extraordinary!! I hope you do know what "Phir Milenge" means, it means we'll meet again. You are an intelligent individual Johnny. Faisal Kapadiya the lead vocalist is a legend here, he has always been in mainstream music. With the flawless effort, you are making, seems you have great help there. But you keep up the excellent work you're doing. Let us do the praising. ☺ take care Allah Hafiz
Entity Paradigm were like the first mainstream rock band for Pakistan. Rap and HipHop came here during the mid to late 2000s but it was still pretty underground. It still is, I'd say its getting more and more popular since the past 8 years or so. Its still in early childhood tho lol. I'd recommend you listening to Call the band, Entity Paradigm if u do like rock music.
The rap in Pakistan was started by YS. And from there they took it to making it to be the biggest genre at the moment. Hence why they get the respect at such a young age. Because the music of Pakistan is quite the opposite of rap. It’s slow with beautiful melodies, lyrics and great vocals. But these boys showed them a new way to look at music without compromising the quality because they have one of the deepest lyrics in the world at this moment. Don’t misjudge me there because urdu in itself is one of the deepest languages. Hence why you will see Xulfi says that you should write for other playback singers because they’re at that level.
Jonny as u said in Urdu "kaise ho app log " "Hum sab theek hain Alhumdulillah " means we all r fine Alhumdulillah 😀 Just amazing . I like it.👍 keep it up
Johnny, I was wondering if you also sing or play music? I would like to hear your sing if you do sing :) It was so beautiful to hear you speak Urdu! you are a quick learner.
I just hope Coke Studio never stops, even 100 years from now. It's Pakistan's invention, celebrating art in its purest form not compromising on the quality for commercialisation or anything. Even though it has become a global franchise now but It must remaing a thing which Pakistanis are best at. it came when Pakistani industry was in its darkest period and it should remain to see Pakistani music industry in its glory.
Great commentary man. I am not that much into rap even though I moved to the US in 1989 from Pakistan when rap was starting to really go here but good to hear of details like that triplet on quarter note flow etc. The lyrics in the rap of YS seem to be a few cuts above but then again Pakistani Urdu songs a lot of the time have great poetry if one can get the meaning. Nothing is ever said directly but a lot is said.
Rap is not quite new in Pakistan.. you must see Bohemia , he is the Best .. im sure u have heard of Sidhu moose Wala .. he also did a collaboration with Bohemia and considered Bohemia as his idol .. im sure you will be amazed again n again lol .. but after listening to khaaki banda trust me u will thank me for suggesting it ..
And you should do Q&A video and tell us more about you and your music we will absolutely love to see your music and know more about you johnny brother ❤️
What a sheer delight to watch one of my favourite songs’ magical journey through your eyes 👏👏 Your Urdu is on point. My cousins born and bred here in Canada speak Urdu exactly like you did there so right on there, mate! Oh, am I going the Aussie way there? Lol. Will u be doing Ye Dunya’s magical journey? The guy you have seen with Xulfi aside from Abdullah Siddiqui playing guitar is Sherry. He’s the guy who is lead vocalist of Karakoram band and was Xulfi’s discovery from Nescafé Basement - went to form a rock band and have done amazingly well and has been there with Xulfi through the years. He was wearing the orange shirt in the studio. So he was behind the scenes of all Coke Studio songs along with Xulfi and Abdullah Siddiqui. To get you a better idea, why don’t you react to the starting intro videos of Season 14? I’ll link them here.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-it_g9ebnAHg.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sGXJ0c7XU88.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6fHtBwVvZP8.html You can cover them in one video… Cheers and Thanks 😊
Jonny how r u?? We r also awaiting for season 15.. u did not react on atif aslam's hamd Wohi Khuda HAi...yet ... Btw coke studio season 14 was a super dooper hit .. 👍 Alhumdulillah..

Walaikum salam Mai theek ho(i am good)brother your urdu accent is really good and Longest reaction video i watched of yours this was just so amazing am kinda like speechless The way you notice little things and talk about them its really amazing and I think only few people are interested to watch magic journey’s but I appreciate that you react to magic journey’s behind the scene moments ❤ love your reactions brother
Just a doubt... Does the producer/ the role that xulfi played in season 14 will be replaced by another producer for a new season? Or will it be xulfi himself? Bcoz I love that guy!
Please react to Wohi Khuda Hai by Atif Aslam from Coke studio. youll lovee it! Its a Hamd which is a spiritual song/poetry for praise of Allah (GOD) and its sooo soothing and spiritual it will give you goosebumps and please turn on subtitles in this one u haveee to listen and understand it! Pleaseee ♡ lots of love :)
So coke studio has a legacy of recording live music in studio no proper song video making to keep that legacy and to change a bit they made song videos with one take audio and video
Walaikum Salam again "Aur hum sab bilkul theek hain alhamdolillah." "Aap sunao" Meaning we are all fine with the grace of Allah. How are you doing?☺ I just couldn't stop myself. I had to reply again. You have the cutest accent!! ☺🤪 you sound like a person from Pakhtoonkhuwa, one of our province you look a lot like them too. They are fair in complexion and they usually have coloured eyes. And they speak Urdu just like you did. 🤭. You will perfectly fit here lol with that accent. I can't stop talking I should shut up 🤭
