I recently flew from LAX to Incheon a few weeks ago on a Korean Airlines and it was an amazing flight. It's an extremely spacious plane. I'll be flying back to LAX in a few weeks and I'm happy I chose an airline that still has them in service
From a pilot point of view it’s the best and easiest long-haul aircraft I ever operated… triples and jumbos are good, but this thing is awesome. Weirdest thing is on the conversion course when you get airborne and they fail both hydraulic systems and…. nothing happens. You could technically continue to your destination, with everything working including the autopilots! Incredible.
You must have short legs. It's no more comfortable than any other cattle class. When the person in front reclines their seat and you're trying to eat, you get a face full of headrest.
It’s certainly about time BA upped its game. It has to decide if it wants to be a low-cost competitor or offer a premium experience. Right now it doesn’t seem to offer the same experience as carriers like Emirates, especially in ‘cattle class’. Flying from LCY to ZRH next week with BA. It’s OK on a short 1hr 10mins flight, but we flew Club Europe from LGW to Faro last year and the food and service were well below par. My other half had to actually get up out of his seat to go and ask for a second cup of tea - the cabin crew were just standing in the galley nattering, rather than serving passengers. Plus the A320 on the flight was well over 20 years old, not very clean and BA was its fourth or fifth owner.
Flew upper deck economy on BA A380 out and back to the US in May. Seats were both tired, neither USB socket had its innards present and the head phone socket going out was loose and required constant jiggling to keep connected. This refurb is well overdue!
What a load of rubbish - basically padding with a load of library pictures and keep repeating same lines to waste time and deliver any valuable content
Not really true. You can pay to select specific seats if you choose - otherwise you get free seating when check in opens online. You can buy cheaper tickets with a zero bag allowance, but regular tickets include a 23kg allowance.
I don't consider BA as my Favorite A380 airline anymore! BA should learn from Qantas that SQ a380s are better than Qantas even if SQ refurbished A380s before Qantas. So Emirates will be better than BA's A380s!
BA need some working customer services, an entirely new IT infrastructure and a rethinking of their cleaning and maintenance programmes before they're able to deliver a basic service. 20years of cuts and slashed service has left them an overpriced locost carrier with unreliable ancient IT systems and a product from 30 years ago. The reason they're spending is that they've plummeted to the bottom of carriers serving the UK. #BestAvoided until 2029!
