Thanks very much 👍 definitely need more cavalry, just need to get over my hatred of painting them, mind you i haven't done it in a while so maybe the next thing on the table after my ancients 😀
Seeing all those Hanoverians together is just awesome!! So many french bashing classic moments!! 😁 Apart from the hussars whose job is just to ride around looking good ........
Very nice looking army! I'm just getting back into Napoleonics and really enjoying your battle reports. I had a British Airfix army 40 years ago so its exciting to get back into it. Just finished my first unit British Hussars, looking forward to painting something a bit simpler next! Infantry I think. Thanks for providing more motivation ! :-)
Thanks very much, glad you enjoy the channel 👍 you started with Hussar's, wow 😳 pretty sure if id done that first i wouldnt habe carried on, i hated painting mine. Nice one
Martin I use to own a house in New Castle England. It was a council house built around the 1890s and it was fairly roomy. My friends houses there were newer but much smaller, that seems to be the way over there.
I've been watching your batreps for awhile now and really enjoy them. I've recently started my own British Army and it's coming together nicely. Keep up the good work.
Very nice mate. I feel like I'm done with highlanders as well lol. Going to get my British out and make a list of what's needed to get them all finished I think. Nap cavalry is a real labour of love for sure
Thanks mate. I had olanned to do all three regiments at Waterloo but after the first... Nah. It took me 4 times as long to do everything as i kept re doing the kilts as i just wasn't happy with them. As fkr the cavalry 😳 im psyching myself up to do a whole load 😀
Great stuff mate. I your going to do more Infantry seeming you already have 2 guard units the guards or the 1st British Infantry Division is made up of 4 Guards Battalions and 2 batteries of 9 pounders. That would be quite a simple Division for you to finish. I am doing and almost finished the Grenadiers Au Pied Division for the French but I plan on adding the Gaurds Division to give the Brits some Elite Troops too. And as for your Hanoverian Cavalry being mediocre. I have the Duke of Cumberland Hussars. Famous for disobeying a direct order to attack at Waterloo, to turn tail and run away from the battlefield not stopping till they reached Brussels.
Thats a good idea, thanks very much 👍 i was going to make the Duke of Cumberland Hussar's but painting these ones put me off haha, they have green unifoms?
Looks great. I've got some highlanders in the mail, and am currently building some hussars. Also bought some Prussians from Perry, time for a new adventure...
7th Son So those Napoleonic games are on 8 x 6. I’m thinking of some 28mm naps, and I’m concerned that with a 6 x 4 everyone moves too far , too fast 🤔
@@techsaint all the ones in my channel so far are on 6 x 4 except the last which is 7.5 x 4. Sorry when i said main games i meant the ones with my gaming group. To stop troops moving to fast i compenstae by reducing the movement to 2/3rds so 9" for infantry and 12" for cav. I keep weapon ranges the same as the book and it all seems to work well 👍
A nice collection, a real inspiration for my own collection which i'm starting. What are you're bases sizes for all your units, including the skirmishers and command vignettes? I haven't decided on my own yet, and i'm finding it a bit vexing. Your bases look about right though, so i would appreciate the information. Thanks in advance. John.
Cheers 😁 i mostly base my battalions 6 to a base on 60 x 40 mm bases that are 2mm thick, so 4 bases a battalion. Skirmishers i base individually on 20 x 20mm bases. Commands i vary, i like big command stands and as they do t block LOS they can be what you like. Mine are 110mm ovals 👍 hope that helps
I like the vignettes you use for your commanders, but they're surprisingly large. Do they get in the way on your narrow table? Very impressive bases, too. Will you do any Portuguese or Spanish for Peninsular War? If you dislike the tartan, perhaps Highland Light Infantry where you can get away with just the diced cap. I look forward to seeing them in action again.
Thanks very much 👍 um, the amswer really is, not really. If they are a littlr in the way of troop placement we just nudge them along a little, haven't been in a situation yet where it would habe been better to be on smaller bases. I thought about Portuguese but that will be a long way off 😀 will. Hopefully have another one up soon
