As a German-born I know how important it is to accept and deal with the entire national history. We can't pick and choose the good parts of our histories and for the rest claim - "oh, I wasn't even born then". That would be ridiculously wrong. It makes us feel better if we become aware of and accept all that really happened before we were born.

But I think, it’s their moral duty to call what’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong, i.e., differentiating good from bad is very important lest you make the same mistakes again.

And about the victim card well we were victims and just how your country suffers from a historical amnesia, mine don't because we definitely were at the receiving end of this oppression. We were looted of our wealth and henceforth, it is not an attempt to put your country under the bad light but it is a deliberate improvisation to actually show that colonial oppression left our country of wealth and prosperity in absolute plunder and now after 76 years of independence you play the escape card from the actual history

@@Nick.Martin. we Indians do not want the British to suffer the same, because that definitely isn't morally correct. However, we do hope that like German citizens who acknowledge the atrocities committed upon Jews, Britain too accepts that they had left us in a state of misery, poverty and absolute plunder. And never wanted India to rise again as Churchill called Indians "beasts". So what we want now is a sincere apology for the oppression our ancestors had suffered and definitely the ruin of which we are suffering !

The point here is it is well acknowledged fact even by top academics that British Rule in India produced negative results more than the positive ones.
