Hi Everyone, I know that this video is a bit longer, but I appreciate you all watching along in it's entirety. This is a HUGE ration that was sent to me by my friend Average Joe MRE you can check out his channel by clicking this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nP2EzGAyIYg.html I'm still pushing towards my watch hour target, so please continue to help by watching the all videos playlist at the below link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nP2EzGAyIYg.html Thanks as always for your ongoing support!
Great review Dan. It wasn't my favorite ration from your channel (I mean the look of it and how I imagine it tastes), but it sure did look like a very good food source. Very cool of Average Joe to send you this MRE!
Morning Henri! The main entrees weren't my favourite either. However, it was really cool to try an international MRE. I've eaten mostly Canadian ones and US ones, so it was cool to check one from UK! I kind of wish it had some items that were like super UK. For example, bangers and mash or something. Anyway. Appreciate you watching as always. You're the best. 👊
Thanks, Sean! My first one is from a different continent. This thing has 4000 or 5000 calories. Tons of stuff, you can easily last a day or longer if in a survival situation. I was surprised it came with water purification tabs, too.
So cool to see you review one from the other side of the pond! Looked pretty decent, other than the cola drink lol. The cereal I could have passed on as well. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Christina, you've summed up the lows pretty well. Flat cola isn't a fan favourite. Good flavour, but the execution was a miss. It was really cool to eat one from a different country. This thing was a huge ration bag. It easily weighed a few pounds. Thanks for watching as always, and I hope you have a good Saturday!
Hi Dan my man. That was a awesome menu .I like the fact of not to much food. Great review as always. And the snack squad was awesome. Thks for sharing. Take care my friend
Thanks John, it was fun to try one from a different country . I was really impressed. There's definitely enough in here for 24 hours. I think it's 4000-5000 calories total! We liked the taste of pretty much everything.
Absolutely! I didn't know what to expect in a 24-hour ration, and needless to say, I was impressed. There was plenty enough food in this one for a day! Everything, for the most part, tasted pretty good and the fact that it includes water purification tabs was cool too. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely! I'd say this one was a hit! Water tabs were a nice touch. Man, the thing was heavy, though, lol. And it had about 100 beverages, lol. Hope you had a good week, buddy! Chat soon!
Tortilla's would of been great as you said and you guys weren't going thirsty with that pack. Great review from you and the snack squad and its always good when you actually like the food. Thanks for sharing, cheers!
Thanks Larry, almost too many drinks, buy I won't complain! I definitely enjoy eating the good ones. The bad ones feel like a chore, hah. Thanks for watching. This was a longer video, so I appreciate that you watched the whole thing.
It had some highs and some lows. Overall, it was pretty great. I was surprised to see the water purification tabs and the storm proof matches, and there were so many drinks, lol. Thanks as always for watching and supporting us! Have a good weekend.
Dan! Thanks for tuning into this older video. Gotta love the MREs. I haven't opened one in a while lol. The weather is so good that I've been spending extra time out on the hard-water. I have lots more of these different MREs to unbox and review. Just need to find the time.
Nice portion, great review Dan, I like how everyone joins in and provide their opinion on the ration. Interesting to hear what they have to say about taste and texture. Do take it easy on the gum lol. Another great video, what made it interesting to me was that’s it’s from 2019 and tastes good. I’m new to this rations packs, learning lots. Thanks 🙂👍
These little meals last a long time. Almost everything is either dried or packed in retort pouches. From my experience, crackers and breads go stale first but the retort pouches and dried powders / beverages and snacks last year's. It makes you realize that the best before dates on shelf stable pantry items can definitely be used well after the best before dates. Thanks ad always for watching! And to let you know, nobody got tummy issues from the chewing gum.lol.
Hey Dan!!! This ration looks realll good eatin for sho!! Ya did a fantastic job with bad boi!!! The components looked nice and a good mix. The mains ALL looked like good eatin too, i for sho wouldnt be hungry after eatin this.
This thing was huge. 4000 calories. It must have been 3 pounds. I was surprised at how much stuff it had and was blown away by the fact it included the water purification tabs. It could easily last a few days in a survival situation. Appreciate you watching my friend.
Tons of food, man. I think these have 4000 or 5000 calories. Enough to feed the snack squad for 24 hours, lol. In a survival situation, this would go a long, long way! Thanks for watching Dug! Hope you're up to something fun this weekend.
I really wished I weighed the bag..it was huge. 4000 calories in there. Plenty enough for a day (or two if you stretch it). Thanks for being here! Hope you're having a great week so far.
Have to say, some of those items looked really tasty. Others not so much. The Brits don't eat the pain hamburger bun unlike our troops. Another great review from Dan & squad! Just sub'd to Average Joe.
Yeah, a few different items, but overall, it's pretty good. The Canadian IMPs are consistently good but all very much the same. It was fun to try a different country's MRE. Glad you've decided to check out Joe's channel. He has been doing more gear and stove reviews these days. He's a good guy from BC! 🇨🇦 Hope you're doing great!
Hey I got one of them too, had it for a couple of months now but still not opened it, waiting till it gets warmer so I can use it when I came out camping. It looked dam tasty for what it was and I am real down on overloaded salt and sugar so real pleased you found nothing was overloaded with either of them, cheers Alan
Absolutely Alan, the salt and sugar was right in the zone of being good. Not over or underwhelming. It will be a good meal kit for a day camping. Lots of good extras and tons of beverages. Will you review yours? Is it the same menu?
No joke, this bag was probably 3 pounds. I wish I weighed it, there is 4000 calories there. No doubt enough for a few days of food in a survival situation. Thanks for watching and dropping a note! I appreciate your support.
And yes, I'm drooling as I am watching. Actually this all sounds really interesting and a notch above some. Like you said, not too salty on the beef. I loved when you said pasty on the muesli. 😂 That cake sounded good and the hot cocoa.
Yeah the museli was one of those items we were on the fence about. The boys didn't love it. We're more of a bacon & eggs crew lol. Thanks for watching the whole thing. Means alot to me with me hustling on that watch time goal lol.
Very interesting review and I can't believe how much you got in this meal. Great variety. I really thought your first round looked pretty good especially the cake. Then the next meal sounds like it could have used a little more meat but still sounded pretty good. Lots of drink powders for future use. ❤ great to hear about not being heavy on salt and sugar
This thing was huge! I bet it weighed 3 pound's. I wish I weighed it to be honest. Everything was quite good and you're right it was neither salty or sweet or bland. Perfect in the middle. We really liked everything. Appreciate you watching and I hope you're having a good week. I saw your comment somewhere about stickers. I'll definitely message you when I get more. But I need to order another stack. I wrote myself a reminder here in the office and I'll reach out when I get more in.
Thanks kindly! Are you new here. I don't believe I've seen you comment on my videos before. If you've been here a while and are just leaving a comment - thank you and it's good to hear from you. If you're new here - welcome as well! Either way - hope to hear from you again. I'm surfing over to your channel to see your videos too. Keep in touch.
Gonna try to be there, unless I forget. I am off work, and here in other room. Hopefully I hear ding. Reminder set! Some reviews take longer, I well know. Peace, John. P.S. Joe is A cool dude. I know for A fact.
Holy smokes that Ration Pack should come with its own shoulder straps! Where did you get that lunch tray? Looks like something from a futuristic prison.
It was heavy! I wish I weighed it, but I'd guess it was around 3 lbs. It has 5000 calories lol. I got the tray from a local Military Surplus store. It has the Canadian maple leaf logo on the bottom, I assume it to be some sort of Canadian Military Mess hall tray.
lol The MRE. I used the love them when I was a Kid. 6 1/2 years in the infantry killed that. My wife tried one and she had 2 bites and asked how do I eat them I told her that when your hunger you will eat anything no matter how bad it is. Love your videos. I just subbed. looking forward to more videos
Hello! Nice to meet you. Thanks for watching and subbing and moreso, thanks for your service! It's fun to eat them for fun but I imagine every day would totally kill the novelty! My kids LOVE them! They're like mystery bags of goodies. I see you have a channel. Headed your way to check you out! Looking forward to chatting again soon.
I agree, and that's a good thing. You can add hot sauce, but you can't take the hear out. It was by no means plain, though. Things had good flavor it didn't just drown in heat for the purpose of melting taste buds.
Hey Dan! I finally managed to get back to this review, brother. Oh yeah, stay away from the diarrhetics if possible, LOL. I'm glad the snack squad liked this one. I hate trying to choke down a nasty meal. Good one, Dan!
LOL I especially like reading your comments when you watch the good meals, because it makes me want to eat the bad ones for the entertainment value haha! Got a stack of good ones and bad ones to come. I should throw them in a bag and choose one randomly to see what we're gonna eat next. Have a good week Jon, hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
I think these things are 4000 or 5000 calories. They're so stuffed with everything you need. I could easily make this much food last a few days lol. The included water purification tabs were a cool addition too.
Thanks buddy - it was pretty decent. I don't know why my youngest said he doesn't like Apricot jelly, that's news to me lol. He'll eat sweets by the pound but is critical of apricot jelly, lol.
Glad you all liked the food. Regarding burrito's etc, besides not being a common British food item, all the food in the pack is designed to be healthy and ready for quick eating on the go, i.e. eat hot or cold, out of the bag. The only thing requiring preparation is the tea or coffee, all other drinks can be added directly to the canteen. This also goes for the large spork that always shocks Americans - bigger the spoon the quicker you eat! Overall, British soldiers are usually not given time to sit down and prepare sandwiches!
Hey Kevin - that all makes sense to me. I was SUPER impressed with all the stuff that came in here. It was a really nice MRE pack. Really appreciate the extra info. It's nice to learn things about these MREs from folks in the community that are more knowledgeable than I. Hope to see you back around the channel again soon.
Mi kiddos love spicy stuff. For an 8 and an 11, they like hot sauce more than most boys their age. So, with that said, it could have been spicier. It wasn't plain by any means it just wasn't too spicy either. I so appreciate you watching. Time is valuable, so thanks for spending your valuable time with us! ✌️
Yah! I love flavoured peanuts. One of those snacks that you can pass off as healthy. We like chasing spice, so in our opinion, there could have been more flavour/ heat. They were good though! 👍
I didn't realize that! Thanks for letting me know! I appreciate you visiting. I haven't seen you at my channel before. Thanks for dropping in, and I hope you consider subscribing so we can stay in touch. I do a lot of MRE and backpacking meal reviews plus hunting, camping, and fishing trips.
Hi Zach - nice to meet you. I think this is the first time I've seen you comment, nice to hear from you! If you're new here - welcome aboard. If you've been here a while and this is just your first time commenting - I hope it's the first of many interactions we have! I think there are lots of these 24 hour ration packs available online by the sounds of it. I hope that the new ones aren't full of Potatoes lol. I was genuinely hoping this would have some uniquely British foods though. Burrito filling and beef stew don't scream British to me lol.
I'll be honest, Tom, I wish this meal had some food that seemed more British. Neither Burrito Rice filling or beef stew is too British, in my opinion. The foods seemed pretty safe. Appreciate you watching and good luck if you're out fishing this weekend.
@@DCOutdoors most of the leftover MREs that go on sale are ones no one wants to pick lol, which tend to be the least british ones , biscuit browns though are usually used to dip into the hot drinks to fill u up, thats why theyre also hard
It was packed to the brim. No joke, I bet the bag weighed three pounds. There is so much stuff in there, lol. We all liked it. Everything was pretty good.
Hi Kurt - yeah not the best ration ever but I'm surprised with the sheer quantity of things you get in that kit. Definitely a ton of food. I appreciate you watching. I think this is the first time I've seen you here so I hope you consider subscribing. I have a US MRE video review launching shortly but I also do a lot of camping, hunting and fishing stuff. Hope to see you back soon.
