they see infrared light which is not coloured. it's beyond red, I can see near infrared LEDs in pitch blackness, it's a dark cherry red.

They can be any color since they are digital , most thermals have the ability to switch from blue/red ,white/black , and green/black Green black is easy on the eyes for use at night
