He might have went abroad to study when he was in high school. I got to meet some international Korean students when I was in boarding school and they learn English very quick and adjust well. After like a year or so, they don't even have much of an accent anymore
I am a Korean student, and I think he is particularly good at English conversation. But most Korean soldiers can speak English. English is essential for Korean curriculum, and we learn English grammar and conversation with native English teachers.

He calls HQ to ask if someone heard that crack and if anyone around was doing anything that might make cracking sounds. HQ calls back and says that was a sniper taking shots at him. Major Charles then just slowly moves back and away from that desk.

That was so confusing for me 'cause in French the word for crisps is actually chips so I was like what looks like what again like I know how to speak basic English but when French and English words are the same but does not mean the same things it' s like soooo freankin' confusing ( for a French person obviously)
Can Captain Ahn & some of the soldiers appear in future episodes together ??? Also , if Major Charles ever comes back to Korea , I hope he can check the Korean War Museum. The British military aided S.Korea during the Korean War and I believe Major Charles can also experience pride in the British military even in Korea :)

I got one hear I tried with my friends if your brave enough! : 3 teaspoons of gravy granules 1 self raising flour 1 hot chocolate powder 1 crunchy peanut butter And add boiling water One sip and they gave up though it was more yogurt than drink tbh I got two down me.

I’m an old fart of 55 who was never in the forces but I’ve been utterly charmed by these videos. Spent a huge amount of time in Korea so know them well (and like them) and many of my friends are in the British Army so this is a confluence of interests. Love how these soldiers have learnt a bit of Korean and how warm the relationship is between the forces.
The whole series made me smile but this specific episode, made me SMILE. The soldiers are so loveable and the captain is so wholesome. Much love to the Army

As someone who regularly puts chips on my pizza and gets teased for it, this was incredibly validating to watch lol. But in all seriousness, watching this series on you guys visiting the Korean Army base was really entertaining and educational. Seeing how wholesome, friendly, and respectful both parties were to one another just shows how we don't always have to be in conflict with people who come from different cultures. Looking forward to watching more of your content! :)
After rewatching this, it reminds me of those time where we can all just share foods in one cup/plate without worrying of getting sick. I hope we could do it again, soon.

This actually means a lot when they're sharing their secrets with you Grew up in an international school and the Korean kids all had their handicrafts or snacks (five stones, how to fold a claw, etc etc) and other stuff And they REFUSED and made sure to warn one another never to share w non-Koreans. The only few who got to were made to promise they'd never share it outside and only their closest friends lmao its crazy
I’m not sure why I love these so much. It’s like this really entertaining combo of positive culture exposer, adventure, honesty, and just…. An overall fun experience. We should all be so lucky to experience culture in such a positive open inclusive nonjudgmental way.
Aww, it's over? :( I enjoyed this series of videos SO much and I'll actually kinda miss the Korean soldiers. It felt like I'd just started getting to know their personalities a bit. Huge thank you to the Korean military for allowing this, the Korean soldiers for being so accomodating and to y'all for going there :D

Most Asians apparently have these kinds of drinks. I know my local Korean markets all have at least one variety of fruit-milk beverage (I like it even though I'm technically American)
I thought the kind gesture at the end of buying them whatever they wanted at the PX was just great and over the top generous. I'm so glad I found this channel by accident.

I've kinda adapted to both chips and crisps, chips and fries.... I call crisps chips at times, also chips as fries depending on the cut. Like shoestrings could be called fries or chips but straight cut is ONLY "chips" to me. Do you get it..or is that confusing?
It's weird how you can find great people in odd places. This video showed Koreans being friendly, pranksters, smiling and sharing their fast cooking skills. I wish I could find friends like them.
This series is the BEST! I love the honest expressions on each other's food. The matching one of the Korean soldiers eating British rations, along with this one should be shown to all soldiers for a good laugh at each other. Well Done
