Full credit must go to James for letting Rich talk. He toned down his input and questioning to let the quest take centre stage. Rich talks well and tells his story in an engaging way.
@@rl7012 mate listen to the guy? You can tell that he was all about the business side and if things did need to get handled it would be purely based around business, not putting fear into people or setting an example etc. He even said he let 5k debts go, if he was a gangster then he 100% wouldn't let any debts go.
@@kroz2650 well he contradicted himself a lot in the interview so yeah he did say that at one point he was above getting payment for 'small' debts, but then he said something different later on. He also made out he only became a drug dealer cos his mate didn't want to pick up their four pills every week from the dealer so out of the goodness of his heart he decided to help out. And nobody gets 15 years for a first time drug offence unless there are other charges. He never answered why he got 15 years but he is obviously the orchestrator of it all and it is not surprising as he has very good communication skills. He can appear to answer a question but he doesn't actually answer the real questions. He is good at making himself look good though.
I’ve read rich’s book and seen his TikTok’s and this interview,I have nothing but respect for him and what he’s trying to achieve going forward ,I wish him all the best
The skill with a lot of your interviews is the fact I often don’t know the person but I’m always gripped. Thanks James for giving these interesting people a platform.
Great interview, one of the best. I have a small removal business in Bristol, I'd have this man manage my business, I've winged it for 4 years so far lol but he could push things further. James is deffinitly the best podcaster he let's the guest talk and shows genuine interest. Others literally just read off a sheet. His story is so interesting and you can tell he's a good guy
@@JamesEnglish i i on it or hypocrite if e Ir to have off work and Ihours later on until then e is we yioi i at know what your plan wwwwwwwwwwwwwkwwwkwwrk
Iv been watching ur interviews few months ago, and the guests tell their stories so good that i feel like im watching a movie. Keep on the good work mate. Greetings from Casablanca, morocco
What I love about these interviews is the wealth of knowledge and retrospect we can all learn from these real life stories! Thankyou James for all of them. When we going to hear yours...
Thanks to both you James and Rich. It was on of the best interview I’ve seen you do. Thanks Rich for sharing such an amazing story. God bless and I wish you a long and peaceful life. Keep up the great podcasts James. When are we going to here your story? ❤️
The most genuine explanation of how someone gets into dealing it starts of just getting some for yourself and your mates then you realise you can get your own for nothing this grows to making a few quid as well the more you sell the more you make. You gradually make more contacts and get more customers it just spirals before you know it you're involved in smuggling and importing
Incredible, great interview, never been able to relate to someone so much when Rich is talking about leaving the Army it’s so difficult to re adjust. Really enjoyed this one James 👍
Another good1 James, a charming fella who was out of his depth, to soft to be in a ruthless game. Another 1 for today’s youth to watch, every drug dealer always gets caught n everything comes to an end. Years in prison just for nice watches n clothes or a nice car. I’ve always worked an honest living n had all 3, and paid the mortgage off. The working man will always be top man. I’m well traveled but a 1ab can’t go go anywhere. Keep em coming James 👊🏽🇬🇧🏴
Not every drug dealer gets caught not every drug dealer does it for noce watches and cars and clothes and this guy was in no way to soft for the drugs trade he is the inevitable product of incident in cyprus and having british army over there. The mexican cartel are militant and richard would of treated it as a professional job and his skill set would of made him a big problem to catch. This could of easily turned out different in another life he may of got away with it or if he would of teamed up with the right connections with a new scam at getting drugs transported he may of retired extremely wealthy.
This for me is the best one yet James, I'm a veteran my self... lost my leg through service and was medically discharged because of it. Rich is right, the transition from squaddie to civi is shit. Better now then when he left but still crap none the less. It'll be even harder now H4H have closed all their centres down after covid where alot of squaddies went for help and support now gone.
Another fantastic interview James Your a deep soul bro and can always understand your guests and help get the best out of them. I can relate to Rich having been an infantry soldier in Germany at the same time as him so many things he said brought back crazy memories 😂 travelling around the world Booz, drugs and mayhem We worked hard and played harder After getting out feeling lost, civvi street isn’t the same ! Thank god I turned left it could have been easily different Never forget Rich your family Military family 🤝⚔️🇬🇧⚔️ 🤝
@@throughadversitypodcast3730 Alright Rich, brilliant interview mate Was BAOR in the early to mid 90s myself, and can relate to so much that you have said. All the best for the future brother, From an ex Sapper 👍🏼👍🏼
Funniest part of this is where James is asking what he’s cutting the coke with he’s like “was it ketamine” and rich goes nah. Then James is like “ they would be off the fucking nuts” hahaha
Yet another excellent podcast James .Going West ham in the 80s really enjoyed the bill gardner and Frank McAvennie pods keep up the excellent work mate
Ive never been in the army but i can relate to him when hes in groups and physiologically he distances himself, never heard someone talk about it before
Watched this interview yesterday and have been thinking about some of the stuff Rich talked about. Im also a non combative ex serviceman and I also feel the exact same shit he does. Alienation from everyone except those blokes you went through shitty times with. My mates dont get it, my missus doesnt and neither do most of ny family. And like he says, its not that you think youre better or above them, they just “werent there man”. Even today 6 years after leaving and serving similar time in the forces, I still feel like a fringe mate or an outsider in most groups. Thanks James for making me realise i shouldnt give a fuck.
Civvies won't ever understand mate, you're always gonna feel this way it's who you are, first thing I do when I go out drinking with mates is look around to try and spot a squaddie as we're all the same,
@@4th_Lensman_of_the_apocalypse funnily enough you don't tend to think about leaving when you're joining. Strange that. The stuff I'm on about isn't PTSD or dealing with life changing injuries. It's far less severe, but it's something a lot of us don't think about as time passes.
Nice guy. Told his story very well and just owned it. Strong mind, very smart. I guess it shows that the army can create wonderful people but in the same process damaging them.
I reckon I am the same age as the interviewee. When I reflect back to that era, we were all in a dark place. You won't find too many people who reflect back on that scene with great joy and fond memories. The time I wasted. Found myself 24 years old with the maturity of a Year 9 School Kid.
@@JamesEnglish mad that some people are doubting his authenticity….. I can’t say too much but can vouch for what he says as well as the fact he’s a top guy!
I remember 1 guy had a drop job .. he picked up 50kg of soap bar or pollen once a week . He dropped 20kg with one guy 10 kg with 2 other guys then the other 10 went out as extras over the week . He got paid £50 a KG ( £2500) every week for less than 2 hours work every week without fail for years .. THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF DIAL A G 🤣🤣
Amazing chat lads 👏 … can definitely hear what he’s saying about seclusion/not fitting in after forces after observing my old man over the years, need more help for squadies and ex prisoners not being left alone when integrating back into civi street
I love all your podcasts❤❤❤ bet u wont notice me but keep doing what ur doing because ur inspiring people u will never know how many people u have saved ❤❤
