Yes, Michael was a wonderful actor. I remember him, principally, for his role in the excellent television series Cadfael. Michael was the son of actor Roland Culver.
Even sadder for me was losing my wife Babs to cancer on the 7th March 2024, together 41 years and married for 35, she was only 59. Rest peacefully, my love, you are in good company.
I get sick and tired of people on gogglebox being called stars/celebrities, they are not and never will be, otherwise it would make me one having being on tv quite a few times.
Sad to learn of actor, Michael Culver's death age 85. He was one of those dependable, supporting actors who always elevated the work he was in. He had a distinguished acting background, too. His father was the British stage and film actor, Roland Culver. RIP.
Yes, I remember him in UFO and even further back in The Adventures of Black Beauty. The two characters were so different I didn't twig it was the same actor for quite a while.
So many things we watched that I didn't realise he was in at the time. RIP even if his son bullied me at school! I can say met him once when he visited on one of the parents' days. There was a billiards table I played on often there and I was keeping score, and apparently made a mess of it 😬.
Agree. Knighthoods used to be reserved for captains of industry and other deserving professions. Now, pop and sports people are regarded as 'qualified'.
Yeah the voice of my childhood, non dart player to go first, R I P, Tony Green. 💙🎯. Loved Bully and Jim Bowen lived quite close to me, and used to be a school teacher at a school in Lancaster.😊
Yep, all these people on here saying that they've never heard of any of these people must be young, because Steve Harley was pretty big in the 1970s. I still listen to "Death Trip" a couple of times a year, and will definitely raise a glass to him tomorrow.
@@daleviker5884 Yes,he and Cockney Rebel were really big in 1974-76. By coincidence I'd recently been playing a track by World Party called Ship of Fools from 1987 in my long, slow, chronological revisiting of the 80s. Much as I enjoy that song the chorus of it always had a slight Cockney Rebel-ish influence to me. If not that then maybe Mott the Hoople.
@@rjjcms1 - there was a racehorse name Cockney Rebel who won the 2,000.00 Guineas at Newmarket about fifteen to twenty years ago, (one of the most important "classic" races). Named after Steve Harley I recall, he found out about this and grew quite attached to the racehorse
Sad to see the death of Karl Wallinger, World Party's 'Private Revolution' with the standout single 'Ship Of Fools' was a great album. A very talented singer/songwriter
A lot of comments about not knowing some of these personalities I think it depends of your AGE. Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel was well known , I loved Heartbeat , just because they are not household names they still deserve respect.
I remember Mr Bennett from Heart Beat, he was always getting into trouble. I also used to see him in that Yellow Pages ad. Just found out he died. RIP.
We probably know that _now_ , but deaths are often first announced quite a while after the event so it's reasonable that some actual February deaths first appear in public in March even though the person died in February.
As a woman in her late sixties, I should have heard of these people, but with the exception of the guy from Gogglebox who i vaguely remember and this was on my local news, I’ve never heard of any of them. Hardly celebrities.
@@Joanna-il2ur Carry on with your reality shows. Can't believe at your age you have never heard of Steve Harley of Cockney Rebel who were big in the 70s. Seems football players and actors are not your thing.
@@doommonger7784 Of course. I only liked make me smile. The rest of Cockney Rebel were nobodies. I only know the guy from gogglebox is because I live in Suffolk and he was from Essex. It was a big thing on Look East. I only saw a few episodes of gogglebox. So these are not my reality shows. Don’t be condescending. I know almost nothing about men’s sport because I was too busy doing my PhD.
