Group of us on a D Day beaches cycle tour cycled from Pegasus Bridge up to Amfreville for a visit, specifically because of your film. Thanks for putting it together; really helped us to appreciate what went on. My great uncle was in No.6 Commando. So special to visit where he’d been.
My father was on HQ Troop No 3 Cdo at Amfreville etc. I've been there but it's so difficult to imagine what these guys endured and achieved. This helped a lot. Thank You.
@@WW2TV yes, my dad was a signaller ? RA Gunner on 3 Cdo. He fell asleep on a bed upstairs one day and a shell hit the roof. He was showered with tiles, plaster etc.
My Grandad was in Anfraville with the 6th Airborne 211 light airborne artillery, there is a picture of him next to a glider with “Churchill’s reply” on the side, where can I find anymore info about his regiment?
I've not had enough viewing hours yet, but even when I hit that (which will be soon) RU-vid don't like monetizing WWII content. That's why I ask for support on Patreon
@@WW2TV ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LpAJTURalIM.html Yard hub certainly has great WWII content. And he has monetized every video. I'm a Newfoundland WWI Royal Newfoundland Regiment buff. The RNR got its royal designation after a battle in Beaumont Hamel on the first day of the Battle of the Saume, July 1, 1916. Ultimately, Newfoundland's war effort led to its bankruptcy in the 1930s, the only dominion to lose its political system and taken under British Tutelage. Hope to see your channel grow. You can still go live. I use streamlive.
Interesting piece, I’ve been there but Neil (whom I’ve met and is a lovely chap) adds an extra level of detail I wish I’d known at the time. A suggestion would be more google terrain maps to show where he is at each stand and the direction he’s facing. Happy to be a subscriber.
